Pope like in The Exorcist inhales vomit

Will the God's representative on Earth, leader of the Holy Roman Empire, make it to Lent?

Pope Francis had coughing fit, inhaled vomit, now on assisted ventilation
Accusations of apostasy dog Pope F (rense.com)
(FOX 5 New York) Feb. 28, 2025: The Vatican says Pope Francis (alleged apostate pope Jorge Bergoglio) suffered a coughing fit that resulted in him breathing in vomit, requiring non-invasive mechanical ventilation. The Vatican says he responded well, with a good level of gas exchange, and remained conscious and alert at all times, enough to sign some important paperwork for the Vatican while on his deathbed because they need to look ahead to the next CEO, for which his special Swiss Guard is already preparing and practicing. The episode, reported late Friday by the Vatican, resulted in doctors keeping his prognosis from a two-week battle with double pneumonia as guarded. It marked a setback after two days of increasingly upbeat reports -- and a world in prayer on his behalf -- about an improved condition. FOX 5 NY: FOX 5's Teresa Priolo has the story.

McDonald's E. coli outbreak worsens

What must a taint burger, I mean a tainted burger, at McDonald's even look like, Kimmy?

When do we start eating the aborted?
The joyful vegans over at Conservative TV Central (Fox News) have a more right-wing department called Fox Business, which is reporting on Mickey D's expanding E. coli outbreak as they keep selling contaminated meat foods. What could be more disgusting than a dead slab of many churned up cows combined into a fried patty full of embalming preservatives, dyes, salts, tissue-stored pesticides? Dirty unwashed hands after using the restroom to produce feces and then grabbing raw onions to throw on top? One can suppose that there are worse things, like the funny Hollywood saying, "Don't s**t in my mouth and call it a milkshake."

E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald's expands [like buns before emitting gases]

Pasty meat? Maybe it's the onion?
(Fox Business from FOX News) The number of E. coli cases linked to McDonald's Quarter Pounders has climbed again.

Health officials are focusing on onions, hoping the blame can be laid on them rather than the blood-soaked flesh of countless animal placed in a single grinder and formed into patties, which are then sold to the fast-food chain as the likely source of the outbreak, the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) said Wednesday.

Soon they'll blame the bugs and worms.
The FDA said in an update that 90 confirmed cases of the E. coli O157:H7 strain have now been identified across 13 states, and hospitalizations have climbed to 27.

Two victims have developed hemolytic uremic syndrome, a serious condition that can cause kidney failure. One death was linked to the outbreak early on.

How McDonald's plans to bring back fearful customers: greed

Price: 3 taints for price of 2 when you buy 3.
The FDA believes raw onions served as a topping on Quarter Pounders might be the most likely source of the fecal infection outbreak after beef (slaughtered cow meat and allowable rat parts) was ruled out as a likely source.

The agency said it has launched inspections at the Colorado processing plant of Taylor Farms, which supplied recalled onions to McDonald's, and an unnamed onion farm in Washington state.
Don't think of them as "Butt Burgers."
Quarter Pounders from the menu at 900 of its restaurants after the outbreak was discovered, McDonald's will resume serving the possibly tainted hamburgers in the affected areas this week.

There's a hair in my veiny tendons!
But the [ultra-processed, chemically-flavored] sandwiches will not be served with onions at those locations.

The areas affected by the E. coli outbreak are in Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming, as well as portions of Idaho, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Utah. More

Drunk parody poem: Dulce et decorum est

Seven's homage to British war poet Wilfred Owen (Dulce et Decorum est), Wisdom Quarterly

"Dulce et Decorum est"

See anything you like?
Bent on doubles, like rueful hacks*
Knock-kneed, distended like bags, we cursed our guts,
Till on the moistened bar we turned our backs,
And towards the distant restroom began to trudge.
Men went asleep. Many wet their boots,
But dripped on, bloodshot. All went down in flames, all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the shoos
Of barmaids swabbing spilled wine.

Gassed! GASSED! Slick boys—in ecstasy fumbling
Flitting at barflies, limp helmets drooping, dying,
But someone still was sighing ow and mumbling
Floundering—zip, nick, drip of Fireball or lime.—
Dim through beer goggles and thick green light,
As over a salted rim, I saw him saucing.

Ah, the thicc "green light" (that Margarita, Spanish for "Daisy").

In all my dreams before my helpless sight
He plunges, stick in, stick out, hurling, saucing.

If in some smothering dreams, you too could face
The fine and the paddy wagon they flung him in,
And watch the bloodshot eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a drooler's sick in sink,
If you could hear, at every jolt, the flood
Come gargling from this froth-corrupted bum
Obscene as man spread
Bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on bargirl tongues,—
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children desperate for some weekend glory,

Wilfred Owen
Bent double, like old beggars under sacks
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs,
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots,
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame, all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of gas-shells dropping softly behind.

Gas! GAS! Quick, boys!—An ecstasy of fumbling
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time,
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling
And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime.—
Dim through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams before my helpless sight
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams, you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin,
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer
Bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,–
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,

ABOUT: Wilfred Edward Salter Owen MC (March 18, 1893–Nov. 4, 1918) was an English poet and soldier. He was one of the leading poets of the First World War. His war poetry on the horrors of trenches and gas warfare was much influenced by his mentor Siegfried Sassoon and stood in contrast to the public perception of war at the time as glorious and to the confidently patriotic verse written by earlier war poets such as Rupert Brooke. Among his best-known works -- most of which were published posthumously -- after his tragic early death are "Dulce et Decorum est," "Insensibility," "Anthem for Doomed Youth," "Futility," "Spring Offensive," and "Strange Meeting." Owen was killed in action at the age of 25 on Nov. 4, 1918, a week before the war's end. More

Using the "Poop" Deck: Ship stuck at sea

Amber Dorrian, Seven, Wisdom Quarterly; Larry Mantle, AirTalk (SCPR.org) UPDATED
A cruise on a Petri dish is like a boat in a bottle being used as a bedpan (wallmay.net)

Actual unintended nature sign in Europe
For passengers on the Carnival cruise ship Triumph, their trip can’t end soon enough. What was meant to be a fun vacation got cut short when the engine room caught on fire Sunday morning. Ever since then, the boat has been without electricity and dependent only on generators.

Water and food have been limited, and passengers are reportedly urinating in bags [and pooping on the deck and in the halls and, presumably, vomiting over the rails]

Phuket, Thailand (KueC/flickr.com)
People have taken to sleeping on the boat’s deck to escape the stifling heat inside the cabins without air conditioning.

Tensions are running high, and medical experts are concerned that Triumph is basically a Petri dish of disease and germs just floating in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. On the bright side, the end is in sight [except that a tug line just broke, so it is sitting stagnant again]. The ship is about 25 miles or so from Mobile, Alabama, where it is being sent to port. The only problem is that it is being pulled by a tugboat against the wind. More

COMMENTARY
Can you imagine taking a romantic cruise in southern climes? I can't. It's not the Ebola and salmonella infections, having the captain run you aground, or even the requisite vomiting and futile fulfillment-seeking. My problem is that the goal of modern cruise ship "travel" is nothing but sensual-distraction. I agree! The point is the ship, not where it's head to. Do this, do that, do anything to distract from everything happening in your life back on land. But we've brought the "land" aboard so you won't miss it. It's a land lover's delight. There's a chlorine/urine filled pool. There's a bar, a movie theater, a backed up toilet. We can't feel or see the water and sand, but we're sunburned. *Trill* Escapism? Give me adventure and/or spiritual tourism any day!
