(Mindova) Why spiritually awakened people look younger than their age: Carl Jung
Here "awakened" should not be conflated with Buddhist "enlightenment" (bodhi) since every spiritual tradition will have its own definition of what it is calling the peak realization, moksha, liberation. And even if they use the same words for it (like "nirvana"), it is not the same. For example, Hinduism and Buddhism are VERY different in all the subtle details, but in the West think they're just about identical with some name changes. There would be no need for Buddhism if it were saying what Hindus want to believe and hear. Another example is Jainism. Jains are much closer to Buddhists than Hindus, but they are still worlds apart. Both are wandering ascetic traditions, but Mahavira's insights and explanations did not hold up to the Buddha's scrutiny. Mahavira understood much, attained much, but did not become an arahant (enlightened one in the Buddhist sense of the word). That should show anyone that details matter, differences matter. We can all agree and hold hands and talk about our commonalities on our spiritual quest, but for goodness sakes we have to talk about the contrasts and differences to really benefit one another.

(WQ) It was an amazing sight. All of Chandler alongside the NoHo Metro Station was tent after tent of vegan outlets. It extended four city blocks, crossing the street to the beer garden and DJ booth, where the food trucks parked. See, the fair curved up at Lankershim where it took up another block. Some line were about 200 hipsters long. Others were much shorter. There was all kinds of food -- but people want one thing: carnival, circus, temporary amusement park food: fried anything, tacos, burgers, pizza, donuts, potatoes. One big seller was the tornado potato, a skewered russet straight from the toxic fryer. Others were cookies, cupcakes, candy bars, and various drinks, chocolate protein shakes, and lots of common condiments. It's good at the base but, as the teeshirts tell us, "Anything you can I can eat vegan." Recommended. And another one is coming to the Valley soon.

"Be gentle with me, oh oh, be gentle with me...please be gentle with me, handle with care, be gentle with me...or I shall kick your teeth in."
Breaking up is hard to do, they say. But it depends. It certainly is if one repeatedly reflects on the appealing qualities of the lost person.
However, if one were to from to time consider and reflect on the unappealing aspects, that clinging and pining would vanish.
One would become disenchanted, disillusioned, dispassionate. And then it would be possible to be freed. There is, of course, a trap. If one pushes away from the pain, that is just as dangerous as clinging to the pleasant in the first place. Aversion is as hard to deal with as undue attraction.
"Garden of Love" (Benny Hill)
Hate quickly replaces love -- without displacing it. One is then attached and angry, hurt and seeking some way of ridding oneself of the pain, the memory, the intrusive thoughts.
Wise reflection (yoniso manasikara) sees things as they truly are -- neither ignoring the bad nor exaggerating the good.
With freedom comes laughter again. Everything is funny. Everything is light. Everything is fine just as it is, because fine/not-fine is all in the mind that judges it so. With a different decision, the world seems to change. There is no out there without an in here.
Laugh, and the whole world laughs with you. Cry, and you can cry alone. (Misery loves company, but the company soon wearies of les contagious miserable).
