Asian beauty standards: pale, thin is fat

Ugly or utterly average? Jessica Alba's face
Are you physically attractive? - That depends; whaddya mean by "physical attractiveness"? - It is the degree to which any person's physical features are considered beautiful, that is to say, aesthetically pleasing.

In that case, probably not. But who's to say really? - The term often implies sexual attractiveness or desirability. - In that case, definitely not. - But it can also be distinct from either. - Oh, tell me more.

The New Age of Sexism
There are many factors that influence one person's attraction to another, with physical aspects being only one of them [probably the most important one to males].

Physical attraction itself includes universal perceptions common to all human cultures such as facial symmetry [5], sociocultural dependent attributes, and personal preferences unique to a particular individual [6]. More

The case of South "K-Pop" Korea
Korean Beauty Expo, Vietnam: spreading mania
South Korean beauty standards have become a well-known feature of South Korean culture. In 2015, a global survey by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons placed South Korea in the Top Ten of countries who had the highest rate of cosmetic surgeries [1][2].

Korean beauty standards prioritize maintaining a youthful [even infantilized] appearance rather than looking mature.

ET? Double eyelid surgery on Korean eyes
A combination of clear skin, an even skin complexion, a slim V-shaped jawline, and pronounced puffy Aegyo-Sal (fatty, bag-like, deposits under the eye which are common in children and rare in adults) contribute to the desirable youthful aesthetic and personal presentation.

Bikini Beauty vs. hideous Fat Cow
The increase in influence of South Korean media, such as K-pop, Korean dramas, and advertisements throughout South Korea presents this softer appearance to the public as the desirable norm.

Even in men, this softer and more androgynous appearance is preferred in both romantic interests and are shown more in media, as compared to men with traditionally masculine features.

Cultural pressure
Long Short Legs Man Experiment
A study from 2008 determined that 20 percent of young South Korean girls have undergone cosmetic surgery. This is significantly above the average rate in other countries [3].

A recent survey from Gallup Korea in 2015 determined that approximately one-third of South Korean women between 19 and 29 have admitted to have had plastic surgery [4]. More

What about the Enlightened West?
Booty beauty test
Fortunately, we don't have these problems in the West, where everyone is treated on her or his own merits and judged by the contents of his or her character and inner beauty.

We have advanced to an Enlightened society, free of sexism, misogyny, homophobia, racism, ageism, influence of mass media, product sellers who make TV commercials, and other extraneous factors out of a person's control. If only the world would catch up to our advancements and example.

Crop Top Duo say Spirit Airlines is sexist

When Trump 'n Vance win and Project 2025 is implemented, will women have more or fewer rights?
Tara and Teri, the Crop Top Duo, threatened that they better get off for dressing like hot sl*ts.
.
See? We said being hot is hard! It never ends. Stop staring at our crops if you don't like it and leave us be on this hot no A/C preflight seating circus!

This how we handle in Russia: topless (Femen)
Two female American passengers claim they were kicked off a Spirit Airlines flight for wearing crop tops, accusing a[n effeminate] male flight attendant of sexism.

The passengers [neither of whom are named Karen] argue that there was no dress code violation and other passengers supported them, but the situation escalated leading to their removal from the plane without a refund. [Another woman who stood up for them and her child were also booted.]

You will get off my plane and respect my...
Two female passengers have accused a Spirit Airlines [male] flight attendant of sexism after he allegedly kicked them off a plane for their choice of dress, as seen in a viral video.

“It’s just humiliating having to be escorted and treated like a criminal just because we were wearing crop tops,” one of the flyers, whose name is Tara, said.

A video of the spat shows the flight attendants telling the pair to turn the camera off as they protest their purported ejection. “There’s nothing that says you can’t [wear] a crop top,” sputters one of the duo in the clip.

“Dude, just chill.” Teri [who goes by Teresa] wrote in the caption that “everyone else agreed though that there was nothing wrong with what we were wearing and that crop tops are not against their dress code.
“He then continued to treat us poorly and give us no reasoning as to why he wanted to kick us off,” Teri wrote. Tara agreed.

“Other passengers joined in and tried defending us, but ultimately a supervisor lied to us and told us either we would leave the flight or she would bring the police,” Teri explained.

Is America addicted to war? (TJDS)

Porn for Israel: Young ladies forced to enlist in IDF serve as lures for young guys to sign up.
.
The ethnic cleansing is almost complete.
What do Jimmy Dore and guests cover this week? Lots of things, like when Scarborough FREAKS OUT about Trump winning in 2024. Then there was the Obama advisor’s insane RACIST tirade caught on video MULTIPLE times. Famous Hollywood actor Susan Sarandon was DROPPED by her talent agency for opposing genocide.

Benny Shapiro? He's our asset in the USA.
Andrew Tate eviscerates Jewish-racist Ben Shapiro over his warmongering and cheerleading of Israel. The excess death rates are up DRAMATICALLY in 2023. Democracy is bad – for democracy, says MSNBC host. Here's the saddest video of YOUNG Ukrainian soldiers ever seen.

America’s addiction to war is exposed comically. The Feds are pretending to be N@zis during march in Wisconsin. The pot is calling the kettle fascist. Pres. Joe Biden is LOSING the youth vote to Trump -- according to new poll. Former mayor and current California Gov. Gavin Newsom (possibly future president, frog-hopping over Kamala) cleared homeless from San Francisco for Chinese leader's visit.

Say something for Palestine, cancelled like Susan Sarandon! Say something pro-Israeli war crimes, elevated like little Ben Shapiro.

Keep savings safe as gold (video)

Pat Macpherson, S.Auberon, Pfc. Sandoval, Wisdom Quarterly; Money Metals; ITM Trading
I'm taking my gold bullion, shaping it into a Buddha, putting it in a safe (tricycle.org).
What is the price of gold today? One ounce is going for $1,527 or so (depending).

Samantabadra in yab yum
The Buddha's advice on money is found in the Sigalovada Sutra and says one should take one's money and split it into four equal parts: 1) spend and enjoy, 2) pay off debts (bills, loans, etc.), 3) restock inventory, 4) put away as savings.
  1. Spend on wants.
  2. Spend on business needs.*
  3. Spend on producing more wealth.
  4. Save for times of need.
  • *Inventory, paying employees, advertising, taxes, insurance, and so on.
The only better investment is good karma.
To preserve money it's not enough to store fiat currency (faith money like greenbacks) in the mattress and coffee can. It takes an investment in something that is not affected by inflation and deflation. Gold never loses its value for long, and it not infrequently climbs in value to earn more money than it cost to buy it in the first place.

Do not accept paper notes that say someone else is holding the gold (metal). Get the metal. This may mean investment in coins, which are a ripoff because the minting eats up part of the value. Krugerrands are better. Progressive loudmouth Thom Hartmann says he prefers ITM Trading for stowing away his troy ounces of gold... Better than gold is merit (profitable wholesome karma) that ripens in the future.

    Mushroom Magic (Paul Stamets interview)

Wisdom Quarterly; Coast to Coast (subscription) guest host John B. Wells with mycologist and author Paul Stamets (Fungi Perfecti), Feb. 16, 2013

    Fly agaric Christmas mushrooms (wiki)
Mushroom expert Paul Stamets, professional mycologist, joins occasional host John B. Wells to discuss how fungi can enhance the health of our bodies, gardens, and forests.

He attributes our limited knowledge of mushrooms to fear and their fleeting nature, which limits scientists' ability to study them. He muses that the varied effects of mushrooms -- improved health, sustenance, harm, even death -- contribute to our sense of fear: "They are so poorly understood."

However, he marvels that there are over 5,000,000 species of fungi on the planet, constituting more than half of the 10,000,000 total species on Earth of all the organisms combined. (For more on Stamets' research, see video).

He shared numerous instances where the ability of fungi to survive and thrive in extreme environments has provided insights into potential ways for them to improve life on Earth. To that end he reveals how, following the Chernobyl disaster, Ukrainian scientists observed that mushrooms in nearby forests were "hyper accumulating radioactivity" thereby decontaminating large areas of land.

As such, Stamets suggests that the problem of radioactive fallout facing Japan following the Fukushima disaster may be alleviated with mushrooms. He also talks about how the unique abilities of various fungi to survive could be used to provide food for exploring astronauts and terraforming (making earth-like) planets.

Beyond the environmental benefits attributed to mushrooms, Stamets details ways fungi benefit human health. For instance, his mother dealt with cancer after being given six months to live in 2009.

She supplemented deadly chemotherapy with "turkey tail" mushrooms. Today, according to Stamets, she has "no detectable tumors whatsoever," and her case has been called a "best case outcome" by cancer journals.  Furthermore, he cites studies of "lion's mane" mushroom, which was shown to reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer's in laboratory mice.

Stamets is enthusiastic about the potential therapeutic applications of "magic" mushrooms, such as psilocybin, because research indicates that they help treat alcoholism and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) calling them "medicines for the soul."

    Crushing Economic Update
The show begins with financial analyst Joseph Meyer (straightmoneyanalysis.com) providing an amazing update on the US economy that runs contrary to all mainstream media reports of improvement.

Meyer argues that the US should be returned to the gold standard. He points to indicators in the job and housing markets as well as stagnant income, household debt levels, and weak consumer spending as signs that the economy continues to be troubled despite media claims of a turnaround.

He also calls the increasing consolidation of wealth by a smaller percentage of the population a "recipe for disaster" which cannot sustain itself much longer. In light of the massive gold reserve held by the United States, Meyer surmises that America will be the first nation to return to a gold-backed financial system as the global economy falters.

    Armageddon Begins: America to Blame

Fears grip investors as global equities routed
    Natsuko Waki

LONDON (Reuters) - Europe joined Asia's panic selling in stocks on Friday, knocking the benchmark world equity index to a 5-year trough, while the low-yielding yen jumped as fears grew that efforts by policymakers are insufficient to contain the global financial crisis.

Equity trading in Russia, Iceland, Romania, Ukraine and Indonesia has been halted while nearly half of Milan stocks are suspended for excessive losses, just hours before finance chiefs from Group of Seven rich nations meet in Washington.

So far, measures from the United States, Britain and other countries to fight the worst financial crisis in 80 years -- even this week's coordinated interest rate cuts -- have failed to calm credit and money markets and quell investor fears. "The stark reality is that markets have judged the coordinated interest rates cut not to have been enough, and we are now left wondering how best to get ourselves out of this downward spiral," said Chris Hossain, senior sales manager at ODL Securities.

"One gets the feeling that this market is now strictly confined to the brave." MSCI world equity index fell more than 4 percent at one point to a five-year low, losing a fifth of its value this month alone. The index has lost 43 percent since January, on track for its worst yearly performance in 20 years.

    RELENTLESS SELL-OFF
Japanese stocks fell nearly 10 percent for its biggest one-day percentage loss since 1987. Yamato Life Insurance, an unlisted midsized insurer, became the first Japanese financial institution to collapse. In Japan, investors dumped even domestic government bonds -- considered safer than most other assets -- as fears of counterparty defaults froze the key repurchase market, prompting dealers to sell bonds to secure cash.

"This is panic... There's nothing left for us to trust," said Takashi Ushio, head of investment strategy at Marusan Securities. "Investors are scurrying to convert to cash. A lack of confidence is coupling with panic." On Wall street, stocks tumbled for a seventh straight session on Thursday. In the European credit market, sentiment deteriorated sharply with spreads measured by the Crossover index hitting a fresh high of 720 basis points.

"The market is catching up with the grim reality that this isn't going to be a mild downturn. The mass leverage that people have built up over the past decade or more is catching up, and it's going to be a long and painful process," said James Hamilton, bank analyst at Numis.

Emerging stocks fell 4.2 percent to a fresh three-year low while emerging market spreads widened 10 basis points to trade 556 basis points over U.S. Treasuries.

U.S. crude oil fell 5 percent to a one-year low of $82 a barrel as fears rose over cooling demand for energy. The December bund future rose 50 ticks as investors rushed to buy safer government bonds, with yields in other euro zone countries such as Greece moving as much as 100 basis points above German counterparts -- considered most liquid.

The yen, which benefits from a surge in risk aversion, rose half a percent to 99.07 yen while sterling hit a five-year low of $1.6802 at one point. The dollar was little changed against a basket of major currencies.
