- This film and advice is, of course, ironic. That is to say, we mean the opposite. The Buddha taught that there are five kinds of "wrong" livelihood: business in weapons, people (slaves), animal flesh (meat), intoxicants (alcohol, drugs), and poisons. A wise person avoids these as grave wrongs, harmful karma, instead living abundantly by "right" livelihood.

Pearl Harbor: false pretext for war (video)

What is a "false flag" operation, and what does it have to do with WW II's Pearl Harbor?

U.S. General Smedley D. Butler
Just ask U.S. Marine Corps Major General Smedley D. Butler. He figured it out before 1935 then wrote the book on it. By international and constitutional law, as well as other contractual agreements, the U.S. cannot enter war without Congressional authorization. That's never stopped us.
For all we really need is a pretext, a "false flag operation," an excuse to justify doing what we plan in advance as "retaliation" for something else. For instance, if we're attacked, we have given ourselves the right to start military hostilities without hesitating to ask anyone's permission.
So the military-industrial complex, with plenty of help from the Congress, rules our government and the military it funds. U.S. Pres. Eisenhower warned us.

War is a Racket (Gen. Smedley D. Butler)
What could we do but "fight back"? We knew it was coming to Hawaii (a 1,000 islands we had invaded and forcibly made part of the USA largely to create a forward military base for strategic advantage), we had moved all of our real ships out to sea for safety, and we brought in our own junkers filled with youthful recruits to be sitting ducks. Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted war.

In the guise of foreign wars - James Madison
Several writers, including journalist Robert Stinnett[3] and former United States Navy Rear Admiral Robert A. Theobald, have argued that various parties high in the U.S. and British governments knew of the attack in advance and may even have let it happen or encouraged it in order to force America into war via the "back door." Evidence supporting this view is taken from quotations and source documents from the time and the release of newer materials.
Ten official U.S. inquiries
The U.S. government made nine official inquiries into the attack between 1941 and 1946 and a tenth in 1995. They included an inquiry by Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox (1941); the Roberts Commission (1941-42);... More

T-Day: Trillion dollar student debt (video)
Today marks a watershed in the next economic bubble that will rock the American economy. Bigger than Google's future bust after its 100 billion dollar valuation, mounting student debt will rock the country and the world worse than the housing crisis because most student debt cannot be defaulted on.
- How much is a trillion dollars? A thousand-billion is a misleading answer because a billion is only a thousand-million. Have a look.
- FAMILY GUY: Man brags: "My son got into DeVry!" [DeVry is one of many technical institutes, colleges, universities, schools, and training programs that advertise heavily on daytime TV for people at home watching TV in the middle of the day]. His co-worker replies sarcastically: "Ah, good. What'd he have to do, open the door?"
Jobs in what they were trained in are not in demand when they graduate. We foot the bill anyway because the role of these "colleges" is to book applicants, drop outs, and secure them federally-backed student loans they will not be able to repay but cannot default on.Then we could have a Jubilee every 50 years.
The IMF (International Monetary Fund) and World Bank are weapons of war.
Wells Fargo & Co.
shareholders needed police help to enter today's [April 24, 2012] annual meeting in San
Francisco as about 500 [Occupy Wall Street activists] people gathered to protest the bank's lending and
foreclosures.
The Jubilee campaignรญs origins are linked with the
Biblical Year of Jubilee, outlined in Leviticus 25-26, a magnificent and
widely ignored text which calls for periodic complete overhaul of the
economy.
Leviticus 25 never even explicitly mentions
debt -- but the Jubilee is all about debt cancellation, restored
community, and freedom from debt bondage. The Jubilee cycle of release
builds on the Sabbath Year debt release and rest cycle outlined in
Deuteronomy 15 and Exodus 21:2 and 23:10-11, building from an every
seventh year rest and release to a super-release in the fiftieth year.Tuesday, December 13, 2011
Occupy, the Top 1%, and Elections (video)

The richest 1% of Americans earn nearly a quarter of the country's income and control an astonishing 40% of its wealth. [The bottom 90% own essentially nothing and actually have a negative net worth called debt. The Occupy Movement will no longer camp quietly to call attention to this.]
Inequality in the US is more extreme than it has been in almost a century -- and the gap between the super rich and the middle class and poor has widened drastically over the last 30 years.
"The Top 1%" - With 1% of Americans controlling 40% of the country's wealth, Fault Lines examines the gap between it and the 99%. This episode first aired on Al Jazeera English.
Meanwhile, in Washington, a bitter partisan debate over how to cut deficit spending and reduce the country's $14.3 trillion dollar debt is underway. [The debt is actually far larger than ever reported.]
As wages stagnate and unemployment remains above 9%, Republicans and [their moderate wing known as the] Democrats are tussling over whether to slash funding for the medical and retirement programs that are the backbone of the US's social safety net and whether to raise or cut taxes.

Occupy (Wall Street) Los Angeles developing stories and interviews (KPFK.org)
The budget debate and the economy are the battleground on which the 2012 presidential election race will be fought. And the United States has never seemed so divided, politically and economically.
How did the gap grow so wide so quickly? And how are the convictions, campaign contributions, and charitable donations of the top 1% impacting the other 99% of Americans? Fault Lines investigates the gap between the rich and the rest.

"Super Committee" FAILS (cartoons)

The two party "Super Committee" is a Super Congress tasked with deficit reduction -- making cuts to pull the US out of debt. There is enough money in the country to not have this dilemma. It is a problem, like so many problems, of allocation. We could tax the rich (at low pre-Bush Era rates). Or we could assess corporations more than their current effective-rate of zero. Or we might consider sending less money into the abyss of the "military-industrial complex" (Pres. Eisenhower), which as part of the "shadowy government" (Sen. Inouye), has its own funding anyway. But no.

The lines divide in another way: Democrats want to protect MediCare and social programs, whereas Republicans insist they have to protect the super rich and corporate personhood.Given that both parties are largely corrupt, who would take the side of the bailed out, largely untaxed, welfare-siphoning super rich?
The
"trickle down" theory of economics (the idea that if we give more and more money to the super rich, some of it will eventually fall down to the rest of the 99%) is a fiction that ignores the human needs of most American, even though they cost much less to provide than more tax breaks for the rich. How deluded or insensitive must one be to imagine him or herself a beneficiary of so unfair a system?
Whatever happens after this catastrophic failure to reduce the deficit, at least country music superstar Taylor Swift's award for "artist of the year" is safe. At least we have that. (*Sigh*).

Dr. Gabor Mate @ Occupy Wall Street (video)
LINK (Bigsteelguy3, Oct. 11, 2011)
On a trip from Vancouver, Dr. Gabor Matรฉ stopped by Occupy Wall Street. He talked to "Democracy Now!" host Amy Goodman and observed:
"50 percent of American adults have a chronic medical illness. And much of that has to do with stress. And if you look at the literature of what causes stress, it's uncertainty and lack of information and loss of control, and lack of expression of self."And the uncertainty that has been forced upon the American population by the recent economic crisis -- the loss of control as power has flown into the hands of very, very few people, and the absolute powerlessness of the many in the face of all that, and the lack of expression through the ordinary political process -- people are totally disempowered and deprived of their voice.
"This protest addresses all those issues. So I can only say that this is an extraordinarily healthy thing to happen. People who participate here will be healthier as a result. And maybe society in general as well."

The Protest in Pictures (video)
The CONSERVATIVE "Carnival of Crazy" on TV and Tea Party phoniness on the ground are called normal. But diverse, grassroots organizations occupying the US are a plot.

One name that has come up is investor "leftist" strawman [phony target] George Soros, 81, who in September debuted on the Top 10 list of wealthiest Americans. Conservative critics contend the movement is a Trojan horse for a sinister Soros agenda.
This "99% is too big to fail!" Occupy LA protesters march in the Protest Against Corporate Greed on the Int'l Day of Action, Oct. 15, 2011
Soros and protesters deny any connection. But Reuters found indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada that started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring-type uprising against Wall Street.
People sign banner at "Occupy DC" anti-corporate Stop the Machine co-protest, Freedom Plaza, Oct. 10, 2011, reclaiming American politics for the people Pressed further for his views on the movement and the protesters, Soros refused to be drawn in. But rabid conservative radio host [and super-duper journalist] Rush Limbaugh summed up the speculation when he told his listeners last week, "George Soros money is behind this."

Don't think of it as a Police State; think of it as a "Secure Homeland" or "Tax dollar Torture."

George W. Bush and B.S. Obama's cousin Dick Cheney rest on their laurels. The protesters say the Wall Street bank bailouts in 2008 left bankers enjoying huge profits while laborers Americans suffered under high unemployment and job insecurity with little help from Washington.
They contend that the richest 1 percent of Americans have amassed vast fortunes while being taxed at a lower rate than most people.
