Buddhist cult? Bliss & Wisdom, PEI, Canada

What is this, a cult, a club, a sect?
Bliss and Wisdom (Chinese 福智, Pinyin FΓΊzhΓ¬) is a Taiwanese Buddhist [that practices Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism] organization operating in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island.

Founded in 1991 by Master Jih-Chang, the organization arrived in the Canadian province in 2008 and has come under scrutiny for its significant acquisitions of land.
A citizens group estimates that Bliss and Wisdom has acquired over 17,000 acres of land in crowded Prince Edward Island, contravening the province's land protection legislation.
The provincial government of Prince Edward Island launched an investigation into Bliss and Wisdom's landholdings in February 2025.

The organization has extensive business holdings in the areas of jewelry, electronics, organic farming, translation, and exporting. They operate a natural foods retailer based in Taiwan called Leezen, which opened its first overseas store in Charlottetown in 2016. More: Bliss and Wisdom: Buddhist organization

Leaving behind White supremacy, almost

Former right-wing extremist now warns others about adopting extreme ideologies (doc)

Far Right Network in Canada
(wocomoHUMANITY) UNITED STATES. Brad Galloway was a white 18-year-old punk rocker in and out of trouble with the law, a street brawler already at his fourth high school, a kid without direction, and therefore a prime target for a neo-Nazi recruiter.

Promising comradeship in a gang of “like-minded” guys, a place where Brad could finally find what he wanted most: belonging.

I really want white Canada to be my 51st state.
SKINHEAD tells Brad’s story – how he spent 13 years in “the movement,” climbing the ranks from skinhead rabble-rouser to the Canadian boss of an ultra-violent U.S. gang called Volksfront.

Brad has been out for five years, raising a family and getting his university degree in criminology. But most of all, he’s been working on leaving behind the hate groups that defined who he was for so much of his life – and watching those groups come back to life.

Babe, I'm Hitler in Mein Kampf
“I call them white supremacy groups because that's all it is,” says Brad Galloway. “What they are presenting as new is actually a very old idea of white marginalization. “I think my message is this: understand by adopting these types of extreme ideologies, that you are signing up for losing those years of your life.  You will definitely lose time and you will be affecting others negatively. You will lose that time in your life.”

Neo-Nazism could never happen in US Capitol
FILM
: SKINHEAD steps back and takes a look at the scope of racist movements not only in the USA but in Canada, too. SKINHEAD is largely Brad’s story – his journey into a movement, his journey out, and what he sees happening next in this hyper-partisan age of racial tension under Pres. Trump. Original title: Skinhead. Directed by Andrew Gregg © 2018, licensed by Jambika.

Yamamoto wins it for LA Dodgers, Japan

Series was won by two incredible double plays.

Dodgers are World Series champions after defeating Blue Jays in dramatic Game 7 | LAist
  • Good sportsmanship πŸ‘Ό⚾🧒 means being friends after a fair win. Someone has to lose in capitalist competitions, and everyone knows that going in (only no one knows it might be them).
What is dukkha?
(seerasan) Baseball is as Japanese as rice and Zen or mamasan and sushi

Happy b-day, Fernando's ghost
Mexican pitching marvel Fernando Valenzuela comes through for the Dodgers again. Although his contribution this year was posthumous, it is his birthday and it is the Day of the Dead, and something unseen pushed Yoshinobu Yamamoto to greatest tonight. It has to seem supernatural to overcome the odds and win the biggest game of his life. There may be trouble in celebratory Los Angeles, still reeling from Halloween Carnival in West Hollywood tonight, Samhain trick-or-treaters going all night, and the seasonal festivities of Christian-Pagan syncretism.
MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto
Yoshinobu Yamamoto
(山本 η”±δΌΈ, born 1998) is a Japanese professional baseball pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

He previously played in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Orix Buffaloes, where he became one of the most decorated pitchers in league history.

Between 2021 and 2023, Yamamoto won three consecutive Pacific League Most Valuable Player Awards, three Eiji Sawamura Awards, and three Triple Crowns, leading the league in wins, strikeouts, and earned run average in each of those seasons.

Shohei Ohtani is having fun, and that's gotta hurt.
He also threw two no-hitters and was a key figure in Orix’s 2022 Japan Series championship.

Following the 2023 season, Yamamoto was posted to MLB and signed a 12-year, $325 million contract with the Dodgers—the largest ever for a pitcher at the time.

In his rookie MLB season, he contributed to Los Angeles’ 2024 World Series title, becoming the first player in baseball history to win a World Series, an Olympic gold medal, and a World Baseball Classic title.

In 2025, Yamamoto was named to his first All-Star game. Internationally, he has represented Japan in multiple tournaments, earning gold medals at the 2019 WBSC Premier12, the 2020 Summer Olympics, and the 2023 World Baseball Classic. More

Short summary: What happened?!

Dodgers vs. Blue Jays at end of world

The stakes
: If the Los Angeles Dodgers win tonight (Day of the Dead, Nov. 1, 2025), they’ll be the first team to win consecutive titles since the New York Yankees did it from 1998 to 2000.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Blue Jays won back-to-back championships in 1992 and 1993 — and they're back in the series for the first time in 32 years.

Help from the Other Side
If Toronto wins, it will be ecstasy for the country of mighty Canada, smearing it in the face of the Orange Dictator in his Demolished House commanding his ICE Gestapo.
  • Do the LA Dodgers have a supernatural edge tonight thanks to their large Latin/Asian fan base? YES! Today, the Mexican Day of the Dead, is Mexican super-pitcher Fernando Valenzuela's birthday, and the greatest living Dodger pitcher, Shintoist ONE MAN SHOhei Ohtani is pitching tonight. Nando willing, tonight is a cinch for the Dodgers!
  • What makes the Dodgers so good? It's the best team money could buy. And this is a capitalist country with a capitalist game that glorifies competition, rivalry, violent grit (sometimes breaking out in massive gang fights on the field when they lose and a little sports hooliganism on the streets when they win).
How did Shohei Ohtani happen?

World's greatest pitcher and hitter: S. Ohtani
How we got here
: The Blue Jays on Friday seemed poised to tie the game in the ninth inning until Dodgers infielder KikΓ© HernΓ‘ndez initiated an incredible double play to end the game and secure a trip to Game 7.

Where things stand: The last game, the tiebreaker, will be at the covered Rogers Centre in Toronto, where the team of champions will claim Major League Baseball's Commissioner’s Trophy. More: World Series Game 7: The winner takes all as Dodgers seek a repeat title tonight (LAist.com)

The Dodgers' hopes rest on Yamamoto

Yoshinobu Yamamoto
Los Angeles is on edge and ready to riot if their team the beloved Dodgers fail to win Game 6. It's Devils' Night in WeHo (West Hollywood), home of the Halloween Carnivale, a night of LGBTQI+ revelry and possible debauchery, although this year they have shortened it by an hour so that it ends long before midnight, the Witching Hour. The keiki (children) are dodging cars on the suburban streets of the megalopolis as they run their culturally-approved shakedown for dopamine hits via sugary candies all across LA's 88 cities and countless neighborhoods.

The great Japanese pitcher will start Game 6, and with so much at stake, Dodger fans have to wonder if the stars are aligned. Avoid gambling. It's rigged. The fix is in. It's an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto's lifestyle IS NOT what you think!
(MLB Lifestyle) Oct. 25, 2025: From the bright lights of Tokyo to the star-studded streets of Hollywood, Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s story goes far beyond the mound. This video uncovers how one of Japan’s greatest pitchers rose to global fame, conquered Major League Baseball expectations, and built a life worthy of the spotlight. Learn where his journey began, how he made history in Japan, and what makes his transition to the Dodgers so remarkable — all without giving away the twists that make his story unforgettable. 🎬 Watch until the end for a deeper look into the man behind the legend.

Hollywood's Halloween vs. Irish Samhain

University of Edinburgh, Oct. 31, 2016
Samhain
(SOW-in) or Sauin is a Gaelic festival in Ireland that falls on the Mexican Day of the Dead, Nov. 1st, marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year [1].

It is also the Irish and Scottish Gaelic name for November. Celebrations begin on Halloween, the evening of October 31st, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset [1].

The seasons and festivals of Ireland
This is about halfway between the autumnal equinox and winter solstice. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals along with Imbolc, Bealtaine, and Lughnasa.

Historically it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. Its Brittonic Celtic equivalent is Calan Gaeaf in Wales. More
