Genius Buddhist prodigies, past lives?

The strange, brilliant life of a billionaire scientist living between two worlds
(Lei's Looking Glass) From child prodigy to billionaire scientist, Dr. John D. Young lived a life most people can only imagine—college at 13, dual doctorate degrees (PhDs) by 21, Nobel recognition before 30. But behind his extraordinary success was an even stranger story: visions of light, encounters with divine beings, out-of-body experiences, and a search for the truth behind consciousness. In this episode, we explore the brilliant and mysterious life of a man who walked between science and spirit, between wealth and awakening, between this world and another. Was he simply a prodigy—or something more? Discover the story of a genius who may have been chosen for a higher purpose.

Research: autistic brains are psychic

New research finds the autistic brain has psychic abilities
(Danny Jones Clips) Iya Whiteley: Autism is a spectrum disorder, but not talking may be masking other powers and abilities. Indigo and Crystal Children can communicate even if they do not "talk" (verbalize) much. They have differences but these are not necessarily deficits. Social awkwardness to us is something else to them. More

Li'l Latin genius born near Los Angeles

Humans will never excel my math!
There used to be Indigo and Crystal children being born into the world, communicating telepathically with one another like some extraterrestrial race of Lyrans or Pleiadeans. Gregg Braden was aware of them and mentioned it in his breakthrough book, The Isaiah Effect.

In those days, those sorts of children were referred to as Indigo.

Mensa in Spanish means "fool" or dummy: Irony
The next generation of prodigies or children with preternatural powers (that used to be inherent in nearly all humans) were Crystal children. What they would be today in the Age of Autism, Dumbing Down, and Idiocracy is anyone's guess: adamantine diamond Vajra?

Possibly part Black, curly-haired UK genius boy gets into Mensa at 2, making him youngest.
.
THIS JUST IN (May 27, 2025): The youngest person to join Mensa is just over 2-years-old. The "extraordinarily gifted" boy from the United Kingdom (England) spoke his first word at the age of seven months. At the age of 2-years-and-182-days, Joseph Harris-Birtill, born on Nov. 23, 2021, has officially been accepted into the group, setting a new record for the youngest male Mensa member. Mensa is an exclusive [honor] society for those with very high intelligence quotients (IQs). One must have an IQ of at least 132 and be in the Top 2 percent to be eligible for the elite club, according to The NY Post. Joey's extremely proud parents, Rose and David Harris-Birtill, hope he will look back on this accomplishment with pride when he gets older [and that the other boys won't bully and beat him too badly as he longs to fit in with the knuckle draggers]. Black Catholic girls innovate math (60 Mins)

Jesus was from Africa. So how could he be Black? His mother was Black in Europe for years.

Hidden Figures (Black math)
Black Madonna would be proud like we all are. Who knew girls could do math? Everyone. Who knew girls could teach old white mean a thing or two? No one.

What have we lost because of sexism and racism? They deprive us of so much human greatness that they have to be stopped.

A world of parity and equal opportunity would be a much more amazing place. The way we've lived has advanced us but brought us to the edge of ruin. And the problem cannot be solved at the same level of the problem.

We need breakthroughs -- insight, ingenuity, innovation, and some follow through. Could the Hollywood movie Hidden Figures really be a true story that no one had ever heard of? We doubt it, but that's what Hollywood would have us believe is pure history.

Teens surprise math world with Pythagorean Theorem trigonometry proof

(60 Minutes) May 6, 2024: A high school teacher didn’t expect a solution when she set a 2,000-year-old Pythagorean Theorem problem in front of her students. Then Calcea Johnson and Ne’Kiya Jackson stepped up to the challenge.

60 Minutes is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments, and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

World's smartest person wrote a book (video)

Toby Hendy/Tibees, July 16, 2022; Pat Macpherson, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

World's smartest person wrote this one mysterious book
(Tibees) The Animate and the Inanimate (PDF from sidis.net) is an interesting book available as a physical book (amazon.com).

The Animate and... (sidis.net)
The child prodigy William James Sidis' father, Boris Sidis, together with the famous psychologist/philosopher William James, developed the idea that people only use 10% of their brains, a small fraction of their full mental potential.

William Sidis had a high IQ and chose to live a private and independent life (almost like a Buddhist ascetic), which some saw as a waste of his potential. This video aims to show that he continued to be a lifelong learner and thinker.

The Animate and the Inanimate is one book he wrote under his own name (as he authored others with pseudonyms). It tackles interesting ideas in physics and the reversibility of the second law of thermodynamics.

Bizarre behavior of rotating bodies explained
Spinning objects have strange instabilities known collectively as the Dzhanibekov Effect or the "Tennis Racket Theorem." This investigation offers an intuitive explanation.

Discussion
This is a further discussion by Henry Reich that helps summarize why Axes 1 and 3 are generally stable while Axis 2 is not:

In general, imagine that, because the object can rotate in a bunch of different directions, the components of energy and momentum could be free to change, while the total momentum stays constant.

However, in the case of Axis 1, the kinetic energy is the highest possible for a given angular momentum. And in the case of Axis 3, the kinetic energy is the lowest possible for a given angular momentum.
  • (This can easily be shown from conservation of energy and momentum equations. And this is also fairly intuitive from the fact that kinetic energy is proportional to velocity squared, while momentum is proportional to velocity. So in the case of Axis 1, the smaller masses will have to be spinning faster for a given momentum. They will thus have more energy, and vice versa for Axis 3, where all the masses are spinning: The energy will be lowest).
In fact, this is a strict inequality: If the energy is highest possible, there are no other possible combinations of momenta other than L2=L3=0, and vice versa for [L1] if the energy is the lowest possible.

Because of this, in the case of Axis 1, the energy is so high that there simply aren't any other possible combinations of angular momentum components L1, L2, and L3. The object would have to lose energy in order to spin differently. And in the case of Axis 3, the energy is so low that there likewise is no way for the object to be rotating other than purely around Axis 3. It would have to gain energy.

However, there's no such constraint for Axis 2 since the energy is somewhere in between the min and max possible. This, together with the centrifugal effects, means that the components of momentum do change.

Afghan girls robotics team to compete after visa obstacles

WASHINGTON, D.C. - A robotics team of six girls from Afghanistan is attending an international competition in Washington, D.C., after clearing visa obstacles that prompted intervention from Pres. Don Trump.

The team was the first to be introduced at an opening ceremony Sunday for the three-day high school competition. They will compete against entrants from more than 150 countries in the FIRST Global Challenge. It's the first annual robotics competition designed to encourage youths to pursue careers in math and science.

The girls are entering a robot they made that can recognize blue and orange and sort balls into correct locations. The team was twice rejected for U.S. visas. They arrived in Washington from their hometown of Herat, Afghanistan, early today after Trump's last-minute intervention to sidestep the visa system. More (Sci/Tech)

Spiritual Autism?

Wisdom Quarterly
(StoryCorps)

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are widespread and increasing exponentially. [They are almost certainly caused by toxic load, usually consisting of unmanageable heavy metals, from the environmental in general and vaccinations (excipients) in particular.]

The shadow government does it on purpose while ordinary government outlets scramble to deny, dismiss, and discredit claims that anything it is involved in could be causing harm to citizens. This has made the use of vaccine in children an enormous controversy. The CIA's recent abuse of vaccinations to secretly target and kill Pakistani suspects.

Most victims have Asperger's, a potentially mild form of introversion. Autism means auto-ism or overly focusing on the self to the exclusion of the social environment. It is seen in children, particularly after massive doses of vaccinations have been administered for convenience and profit without informing parents of the danger of combining many useful and useless vaccinations, particularly live strains. (Vaccination may be a wonderful thing, but things added to them like thiomersal are extremely toxic).
  • Epidemiological reviews estimate a rate of one to two cases per 1,000 people for autism, and about six per 1,000 for autism spectrum disorders.[Ref] This may be a gross underestimate of ASD's true prevalence.[Ref] ASD averages a 4.3:1 male-to-female ratio. The number of children known to have autism has increased dramatically since the 1980s.
Mild autism and neuroticism may in fact help one's practice of the spiritual path. The temporary social isolation, withdrawal, seclusion, and intense focus is certainly made easier.

We know of a female with apparent Asperger's who used this condition to her advantage in college (excelling in academic activities requiring intense focus and abstract conceptualization) and meditation. She was able to ride her ability to focus and her aversion to social situations to the mastery of the meditative-absorptions (jhanas), insight-practices (vipassana), and initial stages of enlightenment (stream entry). She is now free in the most profound sense of the word. And it both gives hope to those living with autism (which is actually curable through intense chelation if promptly undertaken by an experienced alternative healing practitioner) and an indication to everyone's practice: Intense focus and setting everything else aside is the way to sudden progress; thereafter, one reintegrates into life. Unfortunately, most of us are taught that the path of enlightenment is ordinary life, for which there is no textual support. Ordinary people do not become enlightened by leading an ordinary life; however, people who become enlightened may very well lead ordinary lives. Ancient texts illustrate this again and again. Modern teachers misrepresent the path again and again, as if to please audiences who crave something out of the ordinary or who on the verge of practicing in accordance with the historical Buddha's teachings.

Autism is being diagnosed through speech (gossipjackal.com).

One child in every 110 in the U.S. is now diagnosed to be somewhere on the spectrum of autism. We step back from public controversies over causes and cures and explore the mystery and meaning of autism in one family's life, and in history and society. Our guests say that life with their child with autism has deepened their understanding of human nature -- of disability, and of creativity, intelligence, and accomplishment. More

Math genius explains $1M prize refusal

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (UPI) - Grigory Perelman, the Russian math whiz who solved a century-old problem, said he refused a $1 million prize because he knows "how to control the universe."

Perelman, 43, of St. Petersburg told the Russian daily Komsomolskaya Pravda he had no reason to accept the $1 million prize the Clay Mathematics Institute of Cambridge, Massachussetts, offered him in 2010 for proving the Poincare conjecture, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

"Emptiness is everywhere and it can be calculated, which gives us a great opportunity... I know how to control the universe. So tell me, why should I run for a million?" Perelman said. More

Milarepa and Mad Genius

The film "Milarepa" depicts the humble beginnings of the man who was to become Tibet's greatest saint. Based on ancient oral traditions, a youthful Milarepa is propelled into a world of sorrow and betrayal after his father's death. Destitute and hopeless, he sets out to learn black magic -- to exact revenge on his enemies -- encountering magicians, demons, an enigmatic teacher, and unexpected mystical power along the way. But it is in confronting the consequences of his anger that he learns the most. Photographed in the stunning Lahaul-Spiti region of Northern India, "Milarepa" offers a provocative parallel to the cycle of violence and retribution we see consuming today's world (Duke University).

Mad Geniuses
Jane McGrath (HowStuffWorks.com)

Is insanity the secret companion to genius? Though we can't very well perform psychological examinations on those who are long dead, that hasn't stopped historians from speculating about the mental conditions of deceased geniuses by interpreting their personal letters, their works, and others' accounts.
.
It turns out some of the world's greatest geniuses were quite mad. In fact, some scientists claim that a far greater percentage of creative types (poets, painters, musicians, and the like) have been afflicted with bipolar disorder than the general population. Some of the world's most renowned creative minds -- including writers Mary Shelley, Virginia Woolf, and Ernest Hemingway; composers Irving Berlin and Sergey Rachmaninoff; and painters Paul Gauguin and Jackson Pollock -- are believed to have suffered from the illness (source: Patient Health International).

H. Armstrong Roberts/Getty Images (Brain Image Gallery). Though we may not know what a high IQ has to do with mental illness, brilliant people often strike us as more than a bit nutty. You don't have to look far to find examples of the mad genius in history. See more brain pictures.

Despite evidence of a link between genius and madness, no one has proved that such a link exists. However, scientists at the University of Toronto have discovered that creative people possess little to no "latent inhibition," the unconscious ability to reject unimportant or irrelevant stimuli. As University of Toronto psychology professor Jordan Peterson puts it, "This means that creative individuals remain in contact with the extra information constantly streaming in from the environment. The normal person classifies an object, and then forgets about it, even though that object is much more complex and interesting than he or she thinks. The creative person, by contrast, is always open to new possibilities [source: University of Toronto]."

Let's take a look at these mad geniuses -- the famous thinkers and artists who may have experienced mental illness. First, we'll inspect the modern case of John Nash, whose schizophrenia has been sensationalized by Hollywood.

MILAREPA the MAHASIDDHA YOGI
Edited from Wikipedia.com

Jetsun Milarepa (c. 1052-c. 1135 CE) is one of Tibet's most famous yogis and poets, a student of Marpa Lotsawa, and a major figure in the history of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.

As soon as he saw Milarepa, an ineffable experience of concentrated bliss (Samadhi) arose in him, and for a moment he stood transfixed in ecstasy. Afterwards, he became a "Heart-Son" of Milarepa (rimpoche.co).

The essence of Milarepa lies in his writings rather than the many legends that have grown up around him. The writings, often referred to as the One Hundred Thousands Songs of Milarepa, are canonical Mahayana Buddhist texts [or at least of the Vajrayana branch of Mahayana Buddhism] that emphasize the temporary nature of the physical body and the need for non-attachment.

In contrast, the legends (and 2006 movie) of Milarepa's life are full of references to magic and wizardry and lack the same sense of devout non-attachment. They became popular through a romanticized and historically questionable biography (Mi-la-rnam-thar) sometime between 1452 and 1507.

According to the book by French explorer Alexandra David-Néel Magic and Mystery in Tibet, Milarepa boasted of having “crossed in a few days, a distance which, before his training [in ‘black magic’], had taken him more than a month. He ascribes his gift to the clever control of ‘internal air.’” David-Néel comments “that at the house of the lama who taught him black magic there lived a trapa [monk] who was fleeter than a horse” using the same skill.[2]

This esoteric skill, which in Tibet is known as Lung-gom-pa (“Wind Meditation,” lung = “wind,[3] gom-pa = “meditation”[4]), allows a practitioner to run at an extraordinary speed for days without stopping. This technique could be compared to that practiced by the Kaihigyo Monks of Mt. Hiei in Kyoto, Japan.[5] His cave is revered to this day.
