An enlightening
new Gallup poll concerning UFOs finds that more than two-thirds of Americans believe that our government is covering something up.
But it appears that not everyone thinks that the secret is alien in nature. A sample size of 1,018 random people living in all 50 states and the D.C. participated in a
UFO survey conducted this past June.
As to whether or not the government knows "more about UFOs than it is telling us," 68% responded yes, and 29% replied no. The result was similar to a 1996 Gallup poll in which 71% of people said they thought there was a cover up taking place.
Other insights from the survey were that 86% of Americans said they had heard or read about UFOs. But 16% of those polled had personally seen a UFO. That's higher than previous responses to the same question asked on five different Gallup polls ranging from 1973 to 1996.
As to whether UFOs are real or a product of our imagination, 56% said that sightings are genuine, while 39% disagreed. In the five past surveys on the subject, those opting to offer no answer was between 15% and 23%, whereas in the 2019 poll it was only 5%.
The results of the poll get more intriguing when compared to a question Gallup asked on a
subsequent survey conducted in August of 2019. At the end of interviews with 1,522 Americans from across the country, Gallup asked if respondents believed that "some UFOs have been alien spacecraft visiting Earth" or if "all UFO sightings can be explained by human activity on Earth or natural phenomenon."
For this question 33% said it was extraterrestrials, while 60% dismissed the possibility that UFOs could be connected to aliens.
Taken together, these new poll results indicate that Americans largely believe that the government is lying to us and hiding something about UFOs, but a much smaller percentage ascribe this secrecy to aliens.

Russia: Private space travel coming in 5 years
Private space tourism is taking off in Russia with plans to send tourists to near-earth orbit in spacecraft capable of launching from ordinary airfields, chief designer of NPO Aviation and Space Technologies Aleksandr Begak said.
He told Sputnik news agency the first flights may start in five years and will cost about $200,000 to $300,000 per person.
According to Begak, a number of private companies are currently working on the unmanned spacecraft dubbed Selena Space Yacht. The works are conducted with the support of the National Technology Initiative’s (NTI) AeroNet and SpaceNet working groups.
