Why Charlie Kirk HAD to be silenced

How could anyone think that Israelis would kill?
Putting the pieces together, it becomes very easy to begin to see the culprits. Their subsequent attempts at a cover up and control of the narrative only confirm it. We may not want to believe it, but we have to begin to learn from history that has replayed over and over again. Who dares to admit it? Not all Jewish people are Zionist Jews implicated in Israel's exposed genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and sundry atrocities. Brave voices like The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal (
The Grayzone?) (Dr. Gabor Mate, Aaron Mate, Russell Dobular, Keaton Weiss, Katie Halper, Norm FinkelsteinIlan Pappé, Democracy Now's Amy Goodman, perhaps to a lesser degree, and a few others) still speak truth to power.

(Paramount Tactical) Charlie Kirk incident, was there more to it?

Did AI prove our subatomic view is wrong?

PBS Space Time, June 21, 2023; CC Liu, Sheldon S. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Did AI prove our proton model WRONG?
(PBS Space Time) The humble proton may seem simple enough, and they’re certainly common. People are made of cells, cells are made of molecules, molecules are made of atoms, atoms are made of electrons, protons, and neutrons, and protons are each made of three up or down quarks. Simple stuff, right? All except for that last part. Protons are actually made of many, many quarks that happen to look like three only when we look at them in a particular way. And even then, sometimes they’re made of five quarks, including the charm quark. [It's all BS and it's wrong if AI is to be believed.]

Dalai Lama to visit So. California (July 5-7)

Ashley Wells, CC Liu, Pfc. Sandoval, Wisdom Quarterly; UC Irvine (news.uci.edu)

The 14th Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday to be celebrated with a "Global Compassion Summit"

A three-day summit will be presented by Friends of the Dalai Lama in partnership with UCI (University of California at Irvine) and the Center for Living Peace.

Friends of the Dalai Lama announced that a Global Compassion Summit will be held in honor of the current Dalai Lama’s landmark 80th birthday. The summit will take place July 5-7, 2015 and will be the official world celebration of his birthday. It will feature world leaders, Nobel Laureates, celebrity guests, speakers, and performers from around the globe. Tickets are on sale. (Contact local Buddhist temples for free tickets, as available).

This Southern California event is hosted by Friends of the Dalai Lama, UC Irvine, and the Center for Living Peace, after the kick-off was held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, which accommodates 18,000 attendees. The following two days of summit dialogues, panels, and special gatherings will take place on the UCI campus. This will be the Dalai Lama’s first visit to Anaheim, "The City of Kindness," and his third visit to Irvine. All events are open to the general public.

“This milestone occasion is a joyous opportunity for people to come together in celebration of His Holiness’ life and achievements,” said Venerable Lama Tenzin Dhonden, Personal Emissary for Peace to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and Founder and Chair of the independent, non-profit Friends of the Dalai Lama.

“His Holiness has devoted his life’s work to positively guide audiences all over the world to open their minds and hearts to peaceful and compassionate existence. On this very special birthday, we will have a chance to celebrate his accomplishments in many areas and hear his exciting view for the years to come,” Lama Tenzin continued:

“I believe 2015 is a year of great hope. On behalf of Friends of the Dalai Lama, I’d like to express my gratitude to UC Irvine and the Center for Living Peace for joining us in hosting the upcoming Global Compassion Summit in Southern California this July 2015.”

The 14th Dalai Lama may or may not be the last in a line of Tibetan Buddhist leaders.
.
Vice Chancellor Student Affairs Thomas A. Parham added, “We are humbled and honored that His Holiness the Dalai Lama will return to our campus on this special birthday. It is an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate his achievements which have inspired our students through the UCI XIV Dalai Lama Scholarship to create impactful projects to promote and celebrate compassion throughout our community and beyond.”

“At UCI, we believe that developing global citizens must involve educating the heart as well as the mind, while we also seek to excite students’ passions and ignite their spirits,” he also shared.

“Few people exemplify living peace as poignantly as His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama,” said Kelly Thornton Smith, philanthropist and founder of Center for Living Peace. “We feel such a deep sense of gratitude to be able to host this momentous occasion and to help inspire everyone around the globe to make Good Happen every day.”

The Global Compassion Summit is designed to foster a dialogue on compassion and peace with his diverse, multi-ethnic, global audience. The event will be a celebration of the Dalai Lama’s lifetime of devotion to the work of spreading the message of the value of peace, kindness, and universal compassion throughout the world.

The program will highlight the different areas in which the Dalai Lama has had great impact. It will be a platform for on-stage dialogue amongst friends, fellow Nobel Laureates, leaders, and experts with whom he has collaborated or shares common values toward the achievement of Universal Peace. Dialogues to include:
  • Awakening Compassion: The Transformative Power of Creativity and Art
  • Compassionate Planet: The Effects of Climate Change and Taking Action to Resolve this Global Issue
  • Wisdom, Vision, and Experience: A Dialogue with Nobel Laureates
  • Youth Leadership Panel: The Significance of Education in Advancing Universal Human Values
“The Global Compassion Summit provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to learn about universal compassion -- to better themselves and the world they live in,” said Lama Tenzin Dhonden.

“Together we will celebrate the tireless work and accomplishments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the official 80th birthday celebration, while sharing well wishes for a long life,” he added.

Friends of the Dalai Lama is an independent, non-profit organization founded to amplify the positive messages of the Dalai Lama. The organization supports important endeavors that align with his values of compassion and peace. The Global Compassion Summit honoring his 80th birthday is the first event presented by Friends of the Dalai Lama, and it is the only official event of its kind taking place during his actual birthday.

NOTE: The 14th Dalai Lama does not charge a speaking engagement fee, and no aspect of his visit is being used to profit financially. The Global Compassion Summit and the world birthday celebration for His Holiness is a privately funded event. More
Friends of the Dalai Lama is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2014 by Lama Tenzin Dhonden, Personal Emissary for Peace to the 14th Dalai Lama. It facilitates the his participation in public and private events. The work it delivers is based on Six Core Value Elements that enable each audience to gain a deeper and actionable understanding of his message on Human Values, Secular Ethics, Inter-Religious Dialogue, Environmental Protection, Sustainability, Compassionate Education, and Ethical Leadership for the sake of humanity.

The Center for Living Peace is a nonprofit organization founded by Kelly Thornton Smith that creates opportunities for people to find inner peace and purpose, discover their own gifts and talents, and share them with the world. Nestled inside a unique facility near UCI, public classes and program offerings encourage the community to turn positive intentions into action and to truly be the change they wish to see in the world.

UC Irvine: UCI’s connection with the Dalai Lama dates back to 2004 when he first visited the campus and inspired the creation of the XIV Dalai Lama Endowed Scholarship. Since then, 12 scholars have married the values of ethical leadership, peace, and positive global relations with the university’s mission of public service to the community with such projects as “Compassion in Medicine,” “Kindness Month,” and the “Peace Flag Project.” The Dalai Lama spoke to a sold out arena at UCI in 2011 and has maintained correspondence with students about gratitude and compassion in action. The Dalai Lama and UCI leadership are aligned in support of holistic education as a path to a better world.

"Earth From Space" (video)

PBS.org/NOVA; Wisdom Quarterly (LINK)

Venture on an epic quest to discover the invisible forces and occurrences that sustain life on planet Earth. For the first time see these processes in action in EARTH FROM SPACE.

This sweeping two-hour special reveals the Earth's deepest mysteries, captured in breathtaking detail, raising profound questions and challenges the old assumptions of how it all works.

Using the latest CGI technology, and joining NASA and the world's foremost Earth scientists, EARTH FROM SPACE transforms raw satellite data into a visible spectrum, offering viewers authentic, high-definition moving images that vividly illustrate these processes.

In consultation with more than 220 scientific experts from 18 international Earth sciences research agencies and academic institutions, highlights from EARTH FROM SPACE reveal:
  • A hurricane, observed from the inside, is an intricately-organized structure. It bonds water to atmosphere and releases heat into space, cooling parts of the Atlantic Ocean by 4C.
  • The Amazon rainforest produces 20% of the Earth's fresh water. Where does all this water go and what is its effect on air circulating around the planet and life across the globe?
  • See how solar storms puncturing great holes in the magnetic field raise new questions about the disruptive effect they have on life on a microscopic level.
  • Data shows that the top three meters of the ocean stores more heat than the entire atmosphere -- overturning long-held assumptions about how the ocean controls weather and climate.

The PR "war of words" on #OWS (comedy)

Frank Luntz is visible on the sidebar at Wisdom Quarterly (courtesy of The Colbert Report) comically being skewered by Stephen Colbert. Luntz is a 1% PR man for sale to the highest bidder, waging war with words and spin. He sells himself to corporations and the politicians that serve them.

Luntz did the Occupy (Wall Street) Movement a great service last week: As the founder of right-wing messaging firm Luntz Global, he circulated advice to GOP strategists for how best to use specific phrases and terminology to hinder the efforts of the Occupy Wall Street movement. But word got out.

How the Occupy Movement (OM) presents itself, particularly before cameras, will play a critical role in determining whether it is successful at broadening its base of support. The US lost support for its invasion and illegal occupation of Vietnam exactly because the cameras were there. The US military now bans un-embedded cameras.

The whole world is watching. Spectators take their lead from how they identify with Occupiers they see on TV or meet in person.

This is a primer. It begins with some of the most subversive strategies being used against the OM. It finishes with general word-choice aimed at helping activists who wish to defend the movement.

  1. Never drop the "Wall Street."

Luntz: Tell them, "You shouldn't be occupying Wall Street; you should be occupying Washington. [Herman "Koch" Cain got the memo and frequently used this talking point.] You should occupy the White House because it's the policies over the past few years that have created this problem."

This is a very important diversion. Luntz is suggesting that the GOP work to deflect attention from banks toward DC bureaucrats. But bailouts, insider trading, and the derivatives market trading crashed the economy. Government bureaucrats simply fail to regulate these massive firms with their own armies (such as billionaire Mayor Bloomberg's seventh largest army in the world, as he referred to it, the NYPD).

Luntz has used these words: "This is your critical advantage. Washington's incompetence is the common ground on which you can build support."

The reason Washington is a problem is because representatives in Washington no longer pay any heed to the will of the people. This is because players on both sides of the traditional Right vs. Left “Washington” dynamic have been bought by special interest money. These special interests are the hands of the puppet master... It's called the American Dream because...

You have to be asleep to believe it!
Seven (Wisdom Quarterly) and Ven. Nyanasatta, Uprisingradio.org, PublicMeditation.org

Power to the 99 percent. On Saturday October 1st, thousands of Los Angelenos took to the streets in an action inspired by the Occupy Wall Street protests becoming part of the larger movement.

Today is Day 35 in suddenly cold, rainy, then sunny Los Angeles. Wisdom Quarterly has been out and about organizing, encouraging, and providing meditation, yoga, veggie food, and educational programs.

"What do meditation and yoga have to do with this movement?" the reporter asked. The answer is clear:

Meditation, yoga, compassionate eating, and education all have one aim -- waking up. That is the goal, and that is also the goal of this movement. Rise above. See that we really are all connected. The separation is an illusion. The "system" promotes that illusion.

And the answer is in the body, this body, right here and right now.

Celestial beings are delightfully distracted have difficulty perceiving suffering (of aging, sickness, death, distress). Beings cycling through unfortunate planes of rebirth (animals, hungry ghosts, odd monsters, the miserable) are overwhelmed by distressed, in too much pain to pay attention in any way that would benefit them. Humans have a balance of leisure of woe.

Meditating Mindfully
The way to enlightenment is by setting up four "foundations" of clear attention. This means mindfulness (non-judgmental bare attention or consideration of reality just as it is) regarding the:
  1. BODY (breath, postures, clear comprehension, repulsiveness, material elements, states of decay)
  2. FEELINGS (pleasant, neutral, unpleasant)
  3. CONSCIOUSNESS (lust, aversion, ignorance/delusion, shrunken, distracted, developed, undeveloped, inferior, superior, unconcentrated, concentrated, unfreed, freed)
  4. OBJECTS OF MIND (defined in detail by the Buddha and called the Five Hindrances, Five Aggregates of Clinging, internal and external sense bases, Seven Factors of Enlightenment, and the liberating Four Noble Truths).
UprisingRadio.org brings this special video report recorded and edited by Bipasha Shom

In early Buddhist texts ten forms of recollections are described. According to the Ekottara Āgama, the ten are MINDFULNESS of:

  1. the Buddha
  2. the Dharma
  3. the (accomplished) Sangha
  4. Mindfulness of giving
  5. Mindfulness of the heavens (devas)
  6. Mindfulness of stopping and resting
  7. Mindfulness of discipline
  8. Mindfulness of breathing (to be here now in the body)
  9. Mindfulness of the body
  10. Mindfulness of death

Why do we love trees?

Zocalo, a Getty Center talk moderated by Bob Sipchen, editor-in-chief, Sierra Magazine Magnificent trees in Kentucky (travelBBB.com)

Why Buddhism LOVES Trees -- Explained

It’s hard to overstate the significance of trees. They provide food, fuel, shelter, shade, beauty, cleaner air, and the raw material for charcoal, paper, and homes. Early manuscripts were printed on birch and beech; the ships that propelled explorers and armies were built from elms and oaks. But beyond their practical use, tress stimulate the spirit and imagination, carrying deep symbolic meaning. Seated in their shade, the Buddha found enlightenment, and Newton found gravity. Laurels meant victory for the Ancient Greeks and Romans; cedars signify revolution and independence for Lebanon; and palms and jacarandas convey the promise of Los Angeles. In conjunction with the Getty exhibition "In Focus: The Tree," Zócalo invites artist Jennifer Steinkamp, environmental studies professor Nalini Nadkarni, and farmer David Mas Masumoto to discuss the beauty and meaning of trees, and why we love them. More

How the talk went: The three participants on a panel called "Why Do We Love Trees" might be expected to have fairly simplistic relationships with the plants in question. READ MORE

Dalai Lama slams China

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, speaks to students and guests at Hunter College as part of The Bridge Conference, a Tibetan and Chinese Youth Dialogue Project.
The 14th Dalai Lama speaks to students and guests at Hunter College as part of The Bridge Conference, a Tibetan and Chinese Youth Dialogue Project.

The Dalai Lama scolded the Chinese government for its censorship and propaganda in a speech at Hunter College Sunday morning. "Openness and freedom of speech are essential," the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of about 20 million Tibetan [Vajrayana] Buddhists, told a conference of 230 Chinese and Tibetan students.

"Under fear, with police watching, how can harmony develop? Harmony by gun -- impossible." The world-renowned monk [and politician] has lived in exile in India since 1959 after a failed uprising of Tibetans against Chinese rule. He said he believes in self-governing "autonomy" for Tibet within China instead of total separation from the super-power -- but that apparently hasn't won him any friends in high places. More>>

Loneliness: A Dharma Talk (Ajahn Brahm)

About five years ago Matt stumbled upon Ajahn Brahm's accessible talks, full of humor and anecdotes: The way this British monk speaks, teaches Dharma, and gives practical applications of Buddhism brought me to this profound "religion," a religion I had earlier thought of as foreign and superstitious.

I soon learned the complete opposite was true. To this day these very teachings help me through every aspect of my life. I want to share this with everyone in hopes that someone might get something from it as well.

This teaching by Ven. Brahmavamso deals with the subject of "loneliness." There are many, many other topics he has speaks about (bswa.org) as well as the talks of other insightful teachers. This is a long video, so I play it in the background while cleaning, exercising, playing video games, etc.
