'Jackass: Best and Last' comedy film

It's plain stupid (only a lil funny)

REVIEW: We can't recommend this one. It's not as funny as previous installments, and it's almost certainly NOT the last Jackass film. They always say it will be their last, which helps sales. The problem here is not that there isn't nostalgia. It's that it's weak. It's not their best work. There is little set up to each scenario, and then it's over and on to the next thing. A previous sequel saw Knoxville dress like an old man with his scrotum hanging out unawares; he goes out and about, laughs ensue. Here, there is one call back to that, and that seems authentic and funny. If you like gay homoeroticism among professed heterosexual bros, you'll love this -- with all its fecal, anal, ball-busting torture. Did we mention feces? There's no shortage of that. And there's lots of full-frontal male nudity for the gents. Ladies, stay home. This is not representative of what most men are up to. This is for drug abusers, like Knoxville and Steve-O to make money milking cringe for what it might be worth. Rating: C or C-.

It has all the elements designed to produce a media firestorm: fame, money, illicit sex, deception -- and betrayal. At the core of it is betrayal of the country's deepest religion -- sports -- and of those we claim to adore and revere most, the children.

The scandal has shown how great wealth, fame, and the business of college sports corrupted everything and everyone, to keep the gravy train rolling. Penn State's football program is an extremely lucrative gravy train, bringing in tens of millions of dollars.



Penn State Univ. itself is the biggest employer in State College and one of the biggest colleges in the US with over 45,000 students.

The gravy here flowed thick and heavy. And like other powerful institutions, its sins were covered so as not to rock the money-making boat.

It reminds us of the great scandals that shook the foundations of the Catholic Church in the 1990s, the ripples of which are still with us.

They remind us that rape is about power -- and sex is but a tool of domination of the weak by the powerful.

That same dynamic is at work whether it is a man and a woman, a priest and a child, or a coach and a boy.

But is it the same when it is two men?



How about when one man is a prison guard [pictured left] and other a prisoner?

When news leaked out several months ago that rapes were widespread in the blocks of the state prison in Pittsburgh, PA, the reaction was largely local, mostly concentrated in Western Pennsylvania.

Here it has all the dynamics of the rape culture we have discussed: It is the powerful against the powerless.

Indeed, in some respects it is more pronounced, for systems are in place to protect women and children (whether they are followed or not is another question), which necessitates hiding these things.

• Penn. prison guard Harry Nicoletti, 59, was arrested and accused of sexually and physically abusing more than 20 inmates, according to the Allegheny County DA. He faces 92 counts of institutional sexual assault, official oppression, terroristic threats, and simple assault.

But in prison, the indicted guard, Harry Nicoletti, allegedly used his power as a state prison official to threaten men he raped and abused with being sent to the "hole" [isolation] and death if they told.

He reportedly ordered prisoners to contaminate food with spit, urine, and feces. He punched, slapped, and spat on prisoners. He used racist language with complete abandon. And these things went on for years.

Schools, churches, and prisons -- institutions of immense social power, exploiting, abusing, and hurting the powerless -- are places that seemingly attract rapeholics.

A Qantas airliner was grounded after four snakes went missing on a passenger flight from Alice Springs to Melbourne(AFP/File/David Hancock). "Qantas will be dead in six months"

KENYAN Ben Nyaumbe says he had to bite a snake in a fight for survival that ended with them both falling out of a tree alive.

The farm manager said he was working alone at a property near Malindi, on the Kenyan coast, when he stepped on something "spongy" and found a python was wrapping itself around his legs.

“The python, apparently hunting for goats, attempted to bind both my legs. But I struggled hard,” he told the Daily Nation. The snake then coiled around his left arm.

“It waggled its ragged and scary tail on my mouth. I had to bite it as I struggled, one hand incapacitated,” he said. Mr. Nyaymbe said he grabbed onto a tree to stop the snake dragging him away. But after an hour he tired and let go of the tree.

He said the snake pulled him up into another tree but rested when it reached the branches. “This gave me the opportunity to remove my phone from my pocket. I had not been able to do so all the time I struggled,” he said. More>> (Also reported by BBC)

Baby pythons escape during flight
MELBOURNE, Australia – Four baby pythons escaped from a container aboard a passenger plane in Australia, leading to a search that forced the cancellation of two flights, the airline said Thursday.

Twelve non-venemous Stimson pythons were being transported Tuesday on a flight from Alice Springs to Melbourne in the plane's cargo area in a bag inside a plastic foam box with air holes.
