The world has four problems and just four. What are they? They are greed, hatred/fear, and delusion. In the hopes of reducing delusion -- manifesting as wrong views, ignorance, nescience, and foolishness -- we work at Wisdom Quarterly.

Does it help? Who knows? It may be making things worse. But if a person becomes interested in the Dharma, then that is our dhamma-dana and it's the best medicine, sometimes slow to show its good effects from not being practiced enough. When practiced, then it is of immediate effect.

For instance, what is the cure for confusion and delusion? It is mindfulness (sati). The moment one remembers to be mindful, confusion stops. When hate or fear (dosa or bhava, aversion, annoyance, anger, animosity, revulsion) arises, the immediate cure is agape (metta, loving-kindness, compassion/wish to alleviate, nonharming). When greed (lobha, attraction, liking, lust, grasping, clinging) arises, the immediate cure is letting go (nekkhamma, which can be done by looking on mindfully at the thing until its true nature reveals itself, e.g., the repulsive or asubha nature of the body, the downside, the danger, the hook in the lure, the unsatisfactory and disappointing or inability for things we chase after to ever fulfill us).

Every additional million views, we show a kind a photo. It's dumb, it's juvenile, but we do it. This million came quickly while in the midst of the greatest month of views ever, thousands more than a quarter million. Among Buddhist websites, that must be something, right?

Did I film a UFO? Coast to Coast (video)

An airline passenger admiring the view from her window seat could not believe her eyes when she saw a curious unidentified flying object in the sky. It resembled a classic flying saucer.

The strange sight reportedly took place on August 20, 2020 around 11:30 am shortly after witness Mariah Lyn's flight took off from Philadelphia.

While trying to take some cool aerial footage with her phone, she noticed a fast-moving silver object streaking across the sky. She posted the footage on YouTube this week.

Doubting Malala, Nobel Peace Laureate

There are somethings one cannot question or investigate, the Holocaust, Israeli war crimes, any country's history of genocide or ethnic cleansing, assassinations, extraterrestrial life, or anything anyone labels a "conspiracy." So in honor of that we explore the possibility that good Malala, children's advocate and feminist, is actually an operative, a pawn, a spy, someone forwarding Western hegemony backed by CIA handlers and advocates. Remember the KONY farce, a pretext for war, for getting social media activists to beg and demand U.S. troops be sent into Africa pretending we're heroic saviors. When the U.S./MIC said it went in and assassinated Osama bin Laden, the BBC dared to contradict that cover story by naming the man they actually killed (Akbar Khan) and talking to his neighbors.

On Wednesday morning, Pakistani education advocate Malala Yousafzai won the Nobel Peace Prize .
They put me up to it. Is Pakistani education advocate Malala Yousafzai a CIA puppet like Barack Barry Soetoro Obama? They both won the Nobel Peace Prize based on future potential rather than past accomplishment (Andrea De Silva/Reuters).

The prime ministers of India and Pakistan praise the Nobel committee’s decision [to choose a distinguished Indian education advocate and a young activist], but conspiracy theories continue to abound.

Update: The Pakistan Observer says that Mr. Tariq Khattak, who claimed to [currently] be an editor there, was fired years ago.

The 17-year-old activist -- the youngest winner of the Peace Prize in the Nobel committee’s more than 100-year-long history -- split the award with [an authentic, long time] Indian children’s rights [and education] advocate Kailash Satyarthi.
 
She was first nominated for the prize last year and has been a perennial contender since the Pakistani [and CIA's] Taliban first [supposedly] shot her in the head two years ago [allegedly] for [blogging and] encouraging young girls to attend school. [They were sent to shoot her and asked for her by name, the story goes.]
 
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Indian Prime Minister [and popular mass murderer of Muslims] Narendra Modi were quick to praise the young award winner.
 
[Excellent PR] “She is (the) pride of Pakistan; she has made her countrymen proud,” PM Shareef is quoted as saying in a statement from his office. “Her achievement is unparalleled and unequaled.… Girls and boys of the world should take lead from her struggle and commitment.” And Prime Minister Modi tweeted:

Both Yousafzai and Satyarthi also tried to capitalize on their awards to ease the tensions that have been escalating between the two nuclear-armed neighbors in recent days. The AFP reported that Yousafzai had invited both Sharif and Modi to attend the Nobel ceremony.

However, not everyone was pleased with the committee’s decision. Tariq Khattak, a former editor at the Pakistan Observer, doesn’t think that Malala deserved the award.
 
It's a Western conspiracy!

“I condemn this decision in the strongest possible words,” he told the BBC Newshour. “It’s a political decision, a motivated one, and a conspiracy to invoke [sic] people in the Muslim countries.

“And the father of Malala and Malala have done nothing at all. Her father is a good salesman, that’s it. And the daughter has also become a salesgirl. And they are dancing on the tunes of West.

“Their appearance is like Pakistanis or Muslims, that’s all -- only appearances. Otherwise, they are tools or puppets of the West. They should not have been given any award. They don’t deserve anything.”

He went on to question whether she was really shot: “How can they [the CIA's sexist Taliban fighters] miss a girl from point blank range or a few feet and then she survives?” [The story is actually more unbelievable, according to ABC News glossy production department: she was shot three times in the temple with a Colt 45 at point blank range and survived because a British expert was in town for a boring meeting, and this surgeon saved her, a very touching tale.'

When pressed for why he didn’t believe the story, Mr. Khattak said: “Why -- when she traveled to UK and the hospital release[d] her picture -- [were there] no marks at all of her bullet wound?”
 
“She is a girl -- a normal, useless type of a girl,” Khattak [misspoke and corrected himself]. “She’s nothing special, nothing in her is special at all except they are selling what the West would buy happily.”
 
He went on to say he believed Yousafzai was “spying for the West.”
 
Khattak is not alone
Pakistan sold out to the CIA, its OSI helped co-create the "Taliban," it kills its ethnic minorities, it attacks India, as both countries seek to curry favor with the West. What the area (Gandhara) was and what it became in 1948 are two different things.

 
Mr. Khattak isn’t alone in promoting conspiracy theories about young Malala Yousafzai.

From conservative members of Pakistani society being upset that Yousafzai was upending traditional separations between boys and girls’ educations to broader concerns about the United States’ policies toward Pakistan, these sorts of theories have gained a lot of ground in Pakistan.

Last year, Maulana Gul Naseeb, a prominent figure in the JUI-F, one of Pakistan’s leading religious political parties, said: “America created Malala in order to promote their own culture [hegemony] of nudity and to defame Pakistan around the world.”
 
Shiza Shadid, who co-founded the Malala Fund, told an audience in Aspen, Colorado, last year that in the months after Yousafzai came forward to speak out about her attack that the narrative in Pakistan soon shifted from support to promoting the idea that she was a CIA agent [technically an operative not an agent, just like their most famous op, the head of the Tibetan government in exile] and the entire thing was staged.
 
“I don’t think it would be far-fetched to say that the majority of Pakistanis now believe that Malala is a conspiracy,” Shadid said. “And I think the tragedy of the story is that this is a girl who gave her heart and soul, her life, to Pakistan, still continues to do so, is loved everywhere, and will continue to fight for girls in Pakistan.” More
