Noah was the last Sumerian king (video)

Sheldon S., Seth Auberon (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Noah | Last Sumerian King and Lost Ararat Civilization: Matthew LaCroix, Julian Dorey, Part II
(Matthew LaCroix) Premiered Sept. 23, 2023: In 2017, the megalithic ruins of a mysterious civilization were discovered at the bottom of Lake Van in eastern Turkey. Combined with other new and incredible discoveries around the ancient lake, evidence is emerging that links a previously unknown and highly sophisticated civilization around Lake Van -- known as the Ararat Civilization -- directly to the ancient Sumerian bloodlines of Noah himself. The Noah's Ark story was appropriated by ancient Jews and made their own, but it is far older and makes more sense in context. Unbelievable myth turns out to be stolen and self-aggrandizing history of a "chosen people."
See link above for FULL episode on Julian Dorey's podcast. It's time to finally change history. Interested in this work? Visit website: thestageoftime.com

Sumerian Adam and Eve, Buddhist cosmology

Dhr. Seven, Pat Macpherson, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly Wiki edit

Could I play the part of Eve in Asia?
This is a continuation of a discussion of the Tree & Serpent exhibition coming soon to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The "serpent" (royal naga) in the Buddhist story is not related to the tree under which the wandering ascetic Siddhartha awoke. But the famous tree of knowledge and talking serpent in the Bible has brought The Met to this tantalizing topic. This got us to thinking about "creation" (the origins of human life on earth, which are told in the Agganna Sutra) and Buddhist cosmology or the shape of things on this plane and in local space.

We were white? - No, Sumerian.
There's an ancient "creation narrative" (human origin story) stolen by the ancient Hebrews, Semites, Jews: Gilgamesh is the older story, but in the first book of the Jewish Bible called Genesis, Adam and Eve are that bible's first man and first woman [9, 10].

Adam's name appears first in Genesis 1 with a collective sense, as "humankind." Subsequently in Genesis 2–3 it carries the definite article ha, equivalent to English "the," indicating that this is "the man" [9] or "the human."
  • [It is this iteration, this generation, this version of a genetically modified earthling human, this time around in the greater cyclical reiteration of life in this small slice of the cosmos, our universe, this part of the multiverse, because there are many world-systems or cakkhavalas, round/spiraling worlds (galaxies?) The human plane is far bigger than this plane or planet, solar system, or galaxy.]
God in the brain (rationality?) is kicking us out
In these chapters God fashions "the human" (ha adam) from earth (adamah) [or dust or ground], breathes life [prana, holy spirit, invisible animating force] into its nostrils, and makes it a caretaker over creation [9].

God [who is ALWAYS plural in the Bible] next creates for the human an ezer kenegdo, a "helper corresponding to him," from his side or rib [10].

The word "rib" is a pun in Sumerian -- because this is a Sumerian tale appropriated by later Jewish  peoples, as if these things happened to them -- as the word ti means both "rib" and "life" [11, 12].
She is called ishsha, "woman," because, the text says, she is formed from ish, "man" [10]. The man receives her with joy, and the reader is told that from this moment a man will leave his parents to "cling" to a woman, the two becoming one [sticky] flesh [10]. More

Our world-system (cakkhavala)

Old flat map, original in Louvre, Paris
This is the world or plane of humans and human-like beings. They live on the surface of the earth [as distinct from the planes within the earth where other, long-lived humanoid beings live]. Rebirth in this plane results from giving (sharing, letting go, being generous) and moral discipline (observing the Five Precepts) of middling quality.

This is the realm of moral choice where future destiny can be guided. The Khana Sutta mentions that this plane is a unique balance of pleasure and pain. It facilitates the development of virtue (e.g., compassion) and wisdom to liberate oneself from the entire cycle or rebirths.

For this reason, rebirth as a human being is considered precious and extremely rare according to the Chiggala Sutta.

The mountain-rings [or ice walls] that engird the axis mundi Mt. Sumeru [Sumersu-meru = "Good Meru"] are surrounded by a vast ocean [likely a reference to space within this solar system, with this "continent" (dipa, lit. "island") referring to earth, our ring girded by mountains, or planet].

The ocean is in turn surrounded by a circular mountain wall called Cakravāḍa चक्रवाड (Pāli Cakkavāḷa चक्कवाळ, Thai จักรวาล or จกฺกวาฬ), which marks the horizontal limit of the world.

In this "ocean" there are four continents (dipas, islands, other planets, platforms, or places in local space) which are, relatively speaking, small islands in it.

Because of the immensity of the ocean, they cannot be reached from each other by ordinary vessels.

But in the past, when the "world monarchs" (cakravartins) ruled, communication between our world and the other local worlds was possible by means of a treasure called the cakraratna (Pāli cakkaratana, a sort of "flying saucer").

A world monarch and retinue could use such a craft [vimana] to fly through the air between the worlds or rings of this flat plain divided by immense mountain ranges. These four islands are:
  1. Jambudvīpa (Pali Jambudīpa) is located in the south and is the dwelling of ordinary human beings like us. It is said to be shaped "like a cart" or rather a blunt-nosed triangle with the point facing south. (This description may echo the shape of the coastline of Southern India). It is 10,000 yojanas [1 yojana = 7 miles] in extent (Vibhajyavāda tradition) or has a perimeter of 6,000 yojanas (Sarvāstivāda tradition) to which can be added the southern coast of a length of only 3.5 yojanas. The landmass takes its name from a giant roseapple or jambu tree (Syzygium cumini), 100 yojanas [~700 miles] tall, which grows in the middle. Every continent has one of these giant trees. All buddhas are said to appear on this island or lamp [light, beacon, object shining in space] of Jambu-dvīpa. The people here are five to six feet tall, and their length of life varies between 10 and about [80,000] years (Asankya Aayu). More

Tomb of Gilgamesh found in Iraq (video)

End Times Productions; Pat Macpherson, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Ancient Mesopotamian terracotta relief (circa 2250-1900 BC) showing Gilgamesh slaying the Bull of Heaven, an episode described in Tablet VI of the Epic of Gilgamesh (wiki).
Artist's impression of palaces, The Monuments of Nineveh (Sir Austen Henry Layard, 1853)
.
The Gilgamesh flood story (which came long before the Noah's Ark retelling) is a flood myth in the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Many scholars believe that the flood myth was added to Tablet XI in the "standard version" of the Gilgamesh Epic by an editor who used the flood story from the Epic of Atra-Hasis [1].

A short reference to the flood myth is also present in the much older Sumerian Gilgamesh poems, from which the later Babylonian versions drew much of their inspiration and subject matter.
History

Gilgamesh's supposed historical reign is believed to have been approximately 2,700 BC [2], shortly before the earliest known written stories. The discovery of artifacts associated with Aga and Enmebaragesi of Kish (Sumer), two other kings named in the stories, has lent credibility to the historical existence of Gilgamesh [3].

The earliest Sumerian Gilgamesh poems date from as early as the Third dynasty of Ur (2,100–2,000 BC) [4].

One of these poems mentions Gilgamesh’s journey to meet the flood hero, Utnapishtim, as well as a short version of the flood story [5].

The earliest Akkadian versions of the unified epic are dated to circa 2,000–1,500 BC [6]. Due to the fragmentary nature of these Old Babylonian versions, it is unclear whether they included an expanded account of the flood myth.

One fragment definitely includes the story of Gilgamesh's journey to meet Utnapishtim.

Tablet XI
The Gilgamesh flood Tablet XI was discovered in Nineveh [8]. It contains additional story material besides the flood. More

Cyclical cataclysms to new Golden Age

A Series of Ancient Cataclysms that erased human history… AFTERSHOCK - The Historical Evidence!
(Zohar StarGate Ancient Discoveries) Nov. 8, 2022 @Zohar StarGate Ancient Discoveries. Brien Foerster: There is mounting scientific evidence that our planet was struck by a devastating cataclysm about 12,000 years ago. Global sea levels, as the result of rapidly melting polar ice rose by more than 300 feet in a very short period of time, causing the planet to become unstable. In Egypt, Machu Picchu Peru, Bolivia, Baalbek Lebanon, and other locations we see the existence of ancient damaged but very sophisticated megalithic stone structures that we would be hard-pressed to recreate today. They hint that once upon a time one or more "Atlantean" civilizations indeed did exist. Was humanity reset?

Sumerian tablets tell us everything (video)

Zohar StarGate Ancient Discoveries, 7/17; Dhr. Seven, Pat Macpherson (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Ancient Sumerian Cuneiform Tablets Tell Us Everything We Need to Know
It is fascinating to realize that it might be possible to know more about the 6,000-year-old civilization of Sumeria than we may ever know about the more recent Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans.

The explanation lies in their form of writing -- Sumerian cuneiform stone tablets. Whereas the papyrus of other empires disintegrated over time or was destroyed by fire and war, cuneiform was etched onto wet clay tablets with a stylus creating a unique wedge-shaped script.

These tablets were then dried, baked, and kept in large libraries. About 500,000 of these clay tablets have now been found and have provided modern researchers with invaluable knowledge of the Sumerians.

The knowledge of Sumeria was brought to Egypt by the biblical Patriarch Abraham by means of cleverly coded knowledge found within the Torah and other old Hebraic texts such as the Sefer Yezirah ("Book of Creation") and the Sefer HaZohar ("Book of Light").

These books predate the Talmud, a compilation of older Jewish laws and traditions first written in the 5th century A.D. produced centuries before the time of Jesus.

According to the Book of Light, “mysteries of wisdom” were given to Adam by God while still in the fabled Garden of Eden.

These elder secrets were then passed on through Adam’s sons to Noah on to Abraham long before the Hebrews ever existed as a distinct people.

According to the Judeo-Christian Bible, "Abraham" was a Sumerian originating from Ur of Chaldea, the ancient term for Iraq.

A Buddhist "Second Coming" (video)

Dharmachari Seven, Pat Macpherson, Ashley Wells, Wisdom Quarterly
The Bodhisat is threatened by Mara as alluring deva lingers and nagas and yakkhas scheme.

William Yeats in his poem "The Second Coming," which some people call "The Falconer," laments:

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world..." More

It feels like that now for us between bouts of bliss.

"Summertime and the living is easy" sang Gershwin, Pete Seeger, then Sublime.

"Fish are jumping and the cotton is high. Your daddy's rich and your momma's good looking, so hush little baby. Don't you cry. One of these mornings you're going to rise up singing. Then you'll spread your wings and take to the sky."

Siddhartha was born at a time of endless low-level conflict in Afghanistan (Gandhara). The Shakya clan's land (janapada) with its capital in Kapilavastu was always jockeying to expand or at least maintain territory. He was rich. He was beautiful. He was happy. What was there to be unhappy about, what disappointment, what deprivation, what suffering?

Isn't it exactly like that for us in America? We're endlessly squabbling for territory in Afghanistan, India's northwest frontier at the foot of the Himalayas. Our fathers are rich, our mothers good looking, and we're happy.

Sumeru is no mount but an axis.
Well, we're not really any happier than Siddhartha was. But what do have to be unhappy about? This is as good as it gets materially. The world wants to come here thinking they'll be free, rich, and fulfilled.

We know what Siddhartha found out: What fulfillment is there, what satisfaction, what is there to gain living like this? So is the Bodhisattva -- either Maitreya (Metteyya aka present-day Nātha in the deva-world or the future Ajita in the human plane, discussion) or any of those who have taken vows since Shakyamuni will do -- coming?

A Second Coming?
Hurtling and hurtling in widening desire
The deva cannot hear the deva-ruler;
When Things Fall Apart, the Center cannot hold;
A police state is loosed upon the first world,
The Tasers are loosed, and everywhere
In a ceremony of obedience the innocent are drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some unveiling is at hand;
Surely a Second Coming is at hand.
Again-becoming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image of Axis Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in plains of the Ganges,
A shape with griffin body, the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its naga thighs, while all about it
Reel light beings and indignant river birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That 26 centuries of samsaric sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what new Mara, its hour come round at last,

The World's oldest (Sumerian) love poem

"Istanbul #2461" a Sumerian clay tablet masterpiece from Sumer/Iraq (TheWorld.org)
(Aloha2you/Flickr.com)

ANCIENT SUMERIA (NIPPUR, Iraq) - The World's Marco Werman talked to Dan Boylan about a unique archeological artifact, a tablet the size of an iPhone: It is a poem, but not just any poem. It is the world's oldest love poem from a city that flourished ~4,000 years ago.

There was a sacred city in the ancient -- and sexually liberal -- Sumerian kingdom. Its temple and fortresses were located about 600 miles south of Baghdad during the Bronze Age. Over the years, archaeologists have turned up thousands of stone tablets with ancient texts.

One of those tablets is referred to as “Number 2461″ that includes an exquisite love poem. The erotic poem was recited by the annual brides of King Shu-Sin (circa 4000 BCE).

Number 2461
(Translated by Samuel Noah Kramer)

Bridegroom, dear to my heart,
Goodly is your beauty, honeysweet,
Lion, dear to my heart,
Goodly is your beauty, honeysweet.

You have captivated me, let me stand tremblingly before you.
Bridegroom, I would be taken by you to the bedchamber,
You have captivated me, let me stand tremblingly before you.
Lion, I would be taken by you to the bedchamber.

Bridegroom, let me caress you,
My precious caress is more savory than honey,
In the bedchamber, honey-filled,
Let me enjoy your goodly beauty,
Lion, let me caress you,
My precious caress is more savory than honey.

Bridegroom, you have taken your pleasure of me,
Tell my mother, she will give you delicacies,
My father, he will give you gifts.

Your spirit, I know where to cheer your spirit,
Bridegroom, sleep in our house until dawn,
Your heart, I know where to gladden your heart,
Lion, sleep in our house until dawn.

You, because you love me,
Give me pray of your caresses,
My lord god, my lord protector,
My Shu-Sin, who gladdens Enlil’s heart,
Give my pray of your caresses.

Your place goodly as honey, pray lay (your) hand on it,
Bring (your) hand over like a
gishban-garment,
Cup (your) hand over it like a
gishban-sikin-garment.

It's official: US Ends its War on Iraq!

Wisdom Quarterly (ANALYSIS)
CP headline: "Iraq War Ends" presaged actual wrap up that takes place today, while MIC develops pretext and readies for war on Iran. The "embassy" (military base, private contractor residences) we built ensure we are not really "leaving" (w.i.a.c.)

It's official: US ends Iraq War
Unofficially, it's still on. But after nearly 9 years and more than a million civilian deaths and countless injuries, mere "collateral damage" neither carefully counted nor a matter of great concern to war planners who were aiming at destroying infrastructure that was sure to harm civilians, but almost 4,500 precious deaths of imperial US invaders, the American government officially marked the end of its military-industrial complex (MIC) war today, Dec. 15, 2011.

About 1.5 million Americans have engaged in our preemptive war on Iraq, and 1.5 million have been injured (only a few tens of thousands with physical scars). Motives? Oil, money, full spectrum dominance of the Middle East, propping the greenback as the de facto world currency, revenge, or war because war is how the MIC thrives. "War, what is it good for?" Lots of things, none of them "good," but then again it depends on how one defines good. It's good for business, the war ("defense") industry, multinational corporations...

B.S. Obama welcomed some troops home yesterday. We leave behind the world's largest "embassy." Mesopotamia, with one of the Gardens of Eden, has always been important here and above, at least since the time of Sumer.

Iraqis unable to defend borders as US exits, but that is their fault for not granting us immunity from prosecution for war crimes. If they had, we would stay on in full number committing more war crimes and "defending" their borders from hostile neighbors eager to take advantage of the weak state we are leaving them in.

Long ago we, the Bush-Dick-Colon Administration, would not take yes for an answer with regard to inspections for weapons of mass destruction. Sodom Hussein should have said yes sooner, so we bombed this biblical land back to the Stone Age. True, we didn't find any WMDs. But we did almost plant some. What does it matter? We got the oil. Oh, look over there, war in Afghanistan. And, oh no, Osama bin Laden is going to get us. And the wars continue because our imperial MIC is far from getting its fill.

In fact, the war we had there so that it would not come here has been brought here by us anyway: Spy drones are being used by police on citizens in the US. And more are coming online all the time. We already endure illegal Homeland Security, TSA, FBI, iPhone, CIA, NSC, NSA, Facebook, Secret Service, state and local police, and Pentagon spying. So what are some drones if you have nothing to hide?

Oh, Facebook is such a radical tool for activists; never mind that so many FBI and CIA agents work there, or that it helps the US government gain full spectrum dominance.

Our DNA has been altered (video)

Wisdom Quarterly
() What evidence is there that we were genetically altered?

Science is wrong or misinforming and disinforming us about evolution. A God did not "create" the living beings on Earth.

But "gods" (alien visitors, devas, nagas, asuras, annunaki, elohim, nephilim) from on high -- Mt. Sumeru, Mt. Olympus, Mt. Fuji, or any high point, which is simply an interpretation of coming down from a land above -- may well have.

Those visitors may have taken off from within Earth or simply another more advanced part of it. There have always been progressive and regressive areas, and it is the advanced areas that make contact.

Based on archaeological evidence, Zacharia Sitchin proposes that the Anunnaki (Hebrew, Anakeim, Nephilim, Elohim; Egyptian, Neter) were an advanced civilization from space who splashed down in the Persian Gulf about 432,000 years ago and colonized the planet to mine gold. Then 250,000 years ago, the miners rebelled, and the Anunnaki directorate decided to create a creature to take their place (xfacts.com).

The Sumerian "gods," the Annunaki or "those who came down from the sky," are just like the "gods" and demigods of India, Greece, Rome, and every known culture across the planet.

Even the Judeo-Christian Bible (Old and New Testaments combined) tell the story. God is always plural, which makes sense in monotheistic and polytheistic traditions that revere one highest God. Study of ancient Hebrew reveals that the Bible does not say most of what we are taught.

Instead, we are taught distortions. Oftentimes, what it says is the opposite. Taking half-quotes out of context serves to control people in the service of empires and churches. Meanwhile, the imperial population at large and community (which is what a "church" originally meant, not its administrative hierarchy or saints) have been enslaved just like the Annunaki and Raja Nagas once enslaved earthlings.

Our Mess in Iraq: But "we meant well"!

Wisdom Quarterly, Peter Van Buren, National Geographic
National Geographic's "Inside the [US War on] Iraq" about Operation Enduring Free[trade for the Oil Industry]

Empire is a funny thing. Of course, no one we colonize is laughing. Killing in the name of [fill in the blank].

But some of us (outside the gun and bomb wielding military) can at least say, as State Dept. employee Peter Van Buren does in the title of his new book, "We Meant Well: How I Helped Lose the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of the Iraqi People."

Bush lied to invade Iraq then claimed no link to 9/11.

Efforts in our name go from from to preposterous to sinister. Our efforts to make up for illegally targeting civilians and bombing an independent nation back into the Stone Age could not be remedied by bureaucrats. "Nation building" on the ground was contradicted by our illegal occupying force.

(
) We Meant Well author Peter Van Buren discusses life in Iraq as a State Department Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) leader and his time at FOB Hammer, stationed alongside Bradley Manning.

Our government was (is) there to systematically steal oil and exert undue influence on the geo-political Middle East. And other than crippling debt, what do we have show for it? Many American citizens actually believe the propaganda that we were there to "help" Iraqis suffering under an out of control dictator we installed, armed, and betrayed. No wonder everyone there and most people here say, It's time to get out! Enough damage has already been done!

Of course, we were always there for other reasons. And we will be staying for a long time, even if we "officially" withdraw. Our bases, clandestine agents, and newly installed dictators are not leaving anytime soon.

The only State Dept. employee who may be fired because of WikiLeaks
One morning earlier this month, a man named Peter Van Buren was seated inside a drab, windowless interrogation room at the State Department and grilled for an hour and a half by agents from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, the department's internal enforcers. The agents told Van Buren [author of We Meant Well] that he was under investigation for exposing classified government data... "Name names!" the agents demanded.

Gilgamesh's tomb found in Iraq

The Fertile Crescent from Egypt to ancient India now Afghanistan (blogs.ei.columbia.edu)

Archaeologists in Iraq believe they may have found the lost tomb of King Gilgamesh -- the subject of the oldest "book" in history.

The Epic Of Gilgamesh -- written by a Middle Eastern scholar 2,500 years before the birth of Christ -- commemorated the life of the ruler of the city of Uruk, from which "Iraq" gets its name.

Now, a German-led expedition has discovered what is thought to be the entire city of Uruk -- where the Euphrates river once flowed, including the last resting place of its famous king.

"I don't want to say definitely it was the grave of King Gilgamesh, but it looks very similar to that described in the epic," Jorg Fassbinder, of the Bavarian Dept. of Historical Monuments in Munich, told BBC World Service's Science in Action program.

Magnetic

In the book -- actually a set of inscribed clay tablets -- Gilgamesh was described as having been buried under the Euphrates river, in a tomb apparently constructed when the waters of the ancient river parted following his death.

"We found just outside the city an area in the middle of the former Euphrates river¿ the remains of such a building which could be interpreted as a burial," Mr. Fassbinder said.

Who can compare with him in kingliness?
Who can say, like Gilgamesh, I am king?

- Epic of Gilgamesh

He said the amazing discovery of the ancient city under the Iraqi desert had been made possible by modern technology.

"By differences in magnetization in the soil, you can look into the ground," Mr. Fassbinder added.

"The difference between mud bricks and sediments in the Euphrates river gives a very detailed structure."

This creates a magnetogram, which is then digitally mapped, effectively giving a town plan of Uruk.

"Venice in the desert"

"The most surprising thing was that we found structures already described by Gilgamesh," Mr. Fassbinder stated.

"We covered more than 100 hectares. We have found garden structures and field structures as described in the epic, and we found Babylonian houses."

But he said the most astonishing find was an incredibly sophisticated system of canals.

"Very clearly, we can see in the canals some structures showing that flooding destroyed some houses, which means it was a highly developed system.

"[It was] like Venice in the desert." Source

Sacred Sexuality

Amber Dorrian (Wisdom Quarterly)
Collage of colors, caresses, and mental scenery (Wisdom Quarterly)

Sex is sacred. It seems to have always been this way, with dancing girls, choruses singing in a heavenly-style, (and goodness knows molested altar assistants). Always up until a certain Age.

For example, the almost obscene word "harem" (Turkish, from Arabic حرم ḥaram "forbidden place; sacrosanct, sanctum," related to حريم ḥarīm "a sacred inviolable place; female members of the family" and حرام ḥarām, "forbidden; sacred") indicates that what we consider sacrilege and irreligious today was once held sacred in temples (revealing advanced architecture, materials, and math others gave humans in different places), churches (communes or congregations of people not buildings), and religious beliefs.

Harem refers to the sphere of women in what is usually a polygynous household and their enclosed quarters which are forbidden to men. It originated in the Near East and came to the Western world via the Ottoman Empire. That's according to Wikipedia.

But all of this pre-Axial behavior sounds like it emerged out of the same general region that centers in the Near East (at the base of mythical Mt. Sumeru: Sumeria, Mesopotamia, Babylon). From there it extended out in all directions -- towards Egypt in the west, India in the east, Jerusalem in the north, and Arabia in the south. The Greeks and Romans (and the great walled Chinese) still carried on until something happened in the Axial Age: some kind of sexism took over and made us believe this is the way it has always been -- sexually uptight, mysogynistic, patriarchical, imperial rule from the top.

It's as if unsavory aliens (maybe nagas, yakkhas, asuras or reptilians, ogres, titans) landed, made a deal with small countries that turned them into superpower empires with enormous senses of entitlement and talk of a "divine right" to conquer and rule the world. "Divine"? "Handed down from space" -- which is all the div in "divine," deity, and deva stands for -- has come to mean a terrible injustice. It set up a whole upside down world that closed down the right side of our brains.

Something happened to our creative, preverbal, idetic imaginations. And we have been systematized and simplified where even meditation -- the most natural thing in the world connecting us to reality -- does not make sense without step by step instructions, books and diagrams, a guru, and lots of words. Is it any wonder people, or entire movements, get back to the land, enjoy free love, take mushrooms (or DMT-friendly drugs as opposed to harmful synthetic chemicals brewed in labs and distributed by operatives for the clandestine services). And we laugh and call them hippies, bonobos, and drop outs. Hmmm.

Berlusconi's Italian Harem

The woman at the center of Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi's latest sex scandal says that when she was 9 years old, she was raped... converted from Islam to Catholicism. Not all of Italy is impressed. A management consultant grew so disgusted with the things she saw on Berlusconi's shows ("Bunga Bunga") that she made her own video to raise awareness of the problem, splicing together scenes from various shows, including one, from a show called Joking Apart, that shows a woman in a thong hung on a hook in a meat locker. Sumer, Space Beings, and "Angels"

Wisdom Quarterly, originally from an essay by Richard Ebbs

A protected Earth could easily be smited by the Sun were it not for terraforming and genetic engineering from advanced worlds far beyond this planet.

What was Sumeria?
Sumerian society is the oldest society that has left us clear evidence of the use of a winged humanoid motif. This evidence is in the form of stone carvings, both in 3D statues and in bas relief imprints that provide the illusion of three-dimensionality. Sumerian culture flourished around 3,000 BC between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in present-day Iraq.

This map shows the geographical extent of the ancient Sumerian culture.

The religion of these people was complex, embracing a wide variety of spirits and "gods." Their pantheon is analogous to Indian, Greek, and Roman deities. But these are not gods at all. They are devas, advanced beings, who are long-lived and powerful, but flawed and very limited in their understanding. However, compared to us and our forebears, they are gods. And we evolved in their image, through genetic intervention, and by the introduction of their technology in far flung cultures around the world.

Sumerian cylinders rolled out on clay form tablets with pictographs and hieroglyphs

But of particular interest was their belief in "messengers of the gods" [angel simply means emissary], forces who ran errands between space beings (gods) and humans. The Sumerians also believed that each person had a "ghost" of some sort (what we would probably now label a "guardian angel"). This entity remained a constant companion for a person throughout life. Altars [altering places] that appear to be dedicated to guardian angels have been found in the excavations of ancient Sumerian homes, alongside stone engravings and wall paintings of human figures with wings.

After the polytheistic Semitic tribes conquered the Sumerians around 1900 BC their mythical cosmology borrowed the notion of angels from the vanquished Sumerians. These Semitic peoples, influenced and instructed by different space beings, developed the idea of angels split into groupings answerable to each of the many Semitic gods. All of this is not say that they did not believe in a supreme God.

The gods were powerful beings and rulers of varying ranks. Further subdividing these groups into vertical "ranked" hierarchies, this notion persisted into Zoroastrianism, monotheistic Judaism, and beyond. Ancient India, like Sumeria and Egypt, well knew and very clearly explained that these were beings from space. The Vimana Shastra (Vaimanika Shastra) explains their flight technology and even has instructions for building such crafts.

Endeavour shuttle craft is based on alien technology

Sumerian ideas likely set the scene for the development of Egyptian theology as well, although it is difficult to be clear about the detail of such cross-cultural influences.

"The civilization of the Jemdet Nasr period of Mesopotamia and the archaic period of Egypt are apparently roughly contemporary, but the interesting point is that in Mesopotamia many of the features of civilization appear to have a background, whereas in Egypt they do not. It is on this basis that many authorities consider that Egypt owes her civilization to the people of the Euphrates. There is no doubt that there is a connection, but whether direct or indirect we do not know" (Walter B. Emergy).

"There are certain elements in Egypt's Early Dynastic Period which seem to betray unmistakable Sumerian influence. Egyptian hieroglyphic writing may be one. Another is the so-called 'paneled-facade' type of architecture found in Egyptian tombs from the First to the Third Dynasties (3200 to 2800 B.C.). The most remarkable evidence of cultural connection is that shown in the architecture of the Early Dynastic tombs of Egypt and Mesopotamian seal-impressions showing almost exactly similar buildings" (Leonard Cottrell in The Quest for Sumer).

Sumerian domination of the Middle East came to an end around 2,000 BC, when Sumer was defeated militarily. The overlapping Assyrian and Babylonian cultures took over. Winged figures can also be found among the icons of ancient Assyria and Babylonia. But exactly how did images of angelic beings find their way into the hearts, minds, and iconography of the Sumerian peoples?

Where did the notion of an "angel" (space messenger) come from before that? It is fortunate we have had the extremely durable stone artifacts of this period handed down. But (as with the Dark Ages much later in Europe) just because a culture does not commit itself to writing, painting, carving, and sculpting artifacts that last thousands of years, this does not mean that there is no culture.

It is certain that the motif of a winged humanoid figure goes back much further than Sumeria. The motif goes back to the time of shamans around the world, revealed by entheogens and ascetic purification practices. Recent evidence suggests that this is the case.
