Ego Death by toad venom? (Bufo DMT)

Buddhist psychedelic artist Alex Grey (WQ) understands this altered state of consciousness!
.
This is more real than ordinary consciousness.
(VICE) Twenty times stronger than DMT: The Spirit Molecule, "Bufo" (5-MeO-DMT), is hiding in the venom of the Sonoran toad -- but it is also synthesized and harms no amphibian whatsoever. Mother Earth and Father Tech have provided it.

The ego is an illusion, so is Ego Death good?
I, the Homunculus, AM what I feel and what I think within MY body and mind.
.
Ego death is a "complete loss of subjective self-identity" [1]. The term is used in various intertwined contexts, with related meanings. Psychologist William James, a 19th-century philosopher, uses the synonymous term "self-surrender."
  • Descartes on the body's pineal gland
[This is the literal meaning of Islam and the Muslim follower's attitude towards the one God Allah, and it is the yogi's merging with "GOD," where or godhead/godhood is the Atman merging or uniting with Brahman, the "ultimate reality" in Hinduism and in different terms in Mahayana Buddhism. And it stands to reason that in Christianity of all kinds, it is the attitude of a soul to what Christians would regard as "God," to be "Christed" or "anointed with Chrism," not figuratively and symbolically in the reenactment of a ritual but in the sense of the pineal gland producing endogenous DMT that floods the system, which is the power of entheogenic substances like amrita, amata, ambrosia and perhaps soma.]
Wow, they hid the truth!

Is this why lunar cycles and calendars are important?

Peter goes to Meg's school to bust Bufo fad
Jungian psychology uses the synonymous term psychic death, referring to a fundamental transformation of the psyche ("soul") [2].

In death and rebirth mythology, ego death is a phase of self-surrender and transition [3][4][5][6], as described later by Joseph Campbell in his research on the mythology of the Hero's Journey [3].

It is a recurrent theme in world mythology and is also used as a metaphor in some strands of contemporary Western thinking [6]. More

American tries world's most intense DMT

The most intense psychedelic on earth...and Connor takes it at music festivals
(Psyched Substance) This video has been created for safety and harm reduction. We want to both show what the reality of modern music festivals is like and sprinkle as much safety advice throughout the conversations as we can. It is also nice to showcase the beautiful individuals who attend to make these festivals happen. Remember, set and setting are the most important considerations before experimenting, exploring, and journeying as a cybernaut.

Ego Death [by DMT] with Alan Watts (A7x)

Alan Watts: Ego death will save the world
Whoa, look at all the colors and eyes of...Huh?
(Metamorphosis) Alan Watts -- the Westerner who made Eastern philosophy (Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Mahayana, Theravada, Zen, Confucianism) intelligible to Westerners -- was one of the most important thinkers of all time. He introduced Eastern philosophies to the Western world and helped the constantly occupied Western mind to slow down and understand. This speech discusses "ego death" (realizing by means of mindfulness and attention that what we take to be "self" is not self, not personal, not ours or under our control, etc.) and how it constitutes a fundamental element in the attempt to re-institute a connection with the real world around us. #alanwatts #egodeath #savetheworld

Seeing no danger in an illusory ego, want an ego?
Here's an ego to cling to and take a flying leap.

Ego death w/ M Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold)

i Was as God, All-Seeing One, alpha, omega
What does DMT (toad venom or 5-MeO-DMT, soma, LSD, psilocybin, ayahuasca, Syrian rueharmaline, iboga, ibogaine, Special K, ergot, peyote, San Pedro cactus, etc.) have to do with anything?

There are powerful entheogens in the outside world that mimic things like DMT that our brains produce. A flood of them, particularly of the Spirit Molecule DMT, can for a moment give us a vision of reality.

If calm-and-insight meditation is the reliable way there, entheogens are the unreliable, irregular, "accidental tourist" way of traveling.

For the nonbeliever, they can make a believer out of one quite quickly. The path is just the same as it was, but now it becomes clearer to the one on the path that it is real and that this journey (to bliss, to the end of all suffering) is necessary without delay.

Drugs are not the Buddha's path

Colonic first then get to practicing, Krystle Cole
Drugs (somashaomas, hallucinogens, psychedelics, etc.) are not the Buddha's path to enlightenment or nirvana, and one may wonder why. It is very easy to see why.

The problem is the ego, but the ego is only a construct and not actually real no matter how much we wish it were so that it could go on forever or be annihilated right now and release us from this interminable merry-go-round.
  • It's crazy to think there's not a "self" since our whole experience of the world is through a self (personality, ego, POV, paradigm, set of memories, atman, soul). It is not correct to say there is NO self. There is a self in a conventional sense, of course. It is in the ultimate sense that there is no self. This is the distinction. So we may "find ourselves," "lose ourselves," store up karma (deeds), bear the result of our actions (deeds), and so on. What is there then? There are Five Aggregates (form, feeling, perception, formations, consciousness) clung to as a self. AHA! Who or what clings? Form forms, feeling feels, perception perceives, mental formations form, and consciousness is conscious. This is not a speculation but rather an observable fact to a mind purified by samadhi (stillness, coherence) that systematically practices the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (satipatthana). It is not a joke, noy a philosophy, not a belief, not a paradox, not a mystic experience. It is verifiably true. And to be free, the Truth must be seen. The Truth sets one free of wrong views, delusions, and ignorance.
What about MAPS and Awake Project?
Drugs are not the answer because they do not promote coherent calm and insight-practices. The real more immediate problems are greed, hatred/fear, and delusion. This last one, a manifestation of ignorance (avidya, avijjha) is the root of all problems. The solution is enlightenment/awakening (bodhi).

There is no need to take a substance, a red pill to snap out of The Matrix. It may temporarily work, and we may see a world of spirits (Dracos, Archons, devas, ogres, ghouls, reptilians, Pleiadeans, asuras), but it won't last.

It is far better to systematically relax and still the mind, collect its faculties, concentrate its powers to the point of samadhi (a coherent state of superconsciousness, stillness, clarity). Then we can begin.

The Buddha's contribution to the world was going from this point (samadhi) to enlightenment/awakening (bodhi). Samadhi is not awakening; it is far from it.

The Three Poisons of greed (clinging), hatred (aversion), and delusion (ignorance) still exist, though temporarily suppressed or attenuated and made so subtle as to not be noticed. But they remain in a latent state. They must be rooted out, cut off at the root. We need not cut them; wisdom cuts them. Knowing-and-seeing cuts them. This is why it is not enough to theoretically understand and "get it." Direct experience is necessary -- or a great deal of saddha (confidence, conviction, faith).
  • It's hard to imagine that faith alone, the path of the great many of the world's inhabitants, could ever do anything, but it does seem to be able to do one thing -- to put us on the Path and impel us. With faith we can go forward and come see for ourselves rather than remaining lost in doubt and perplexity, skepticism and endless questioning.
The Three Poisons (greed, hatred, delusion) must be cut off at the roots. Then knowledge-and-vision of the Truth arises. The "ego" (self or soul construct, these functionally integrated Five Aggregates, which are all processes not enduring realities) will be seen for what it is and what it is not.

This is a lasting and durable solution to letting go of all things clung to as a "self" that lead to suffering. And what again is clung to that leads to so much suffering? They are the Five Aggregates, Skandhas, Heaps: form (physical elements); feelings, perceptions, mental formations, and [the process of] consciousness(es).

Taking these to be an eternal soul, a self, the property of a self, something separate from a self, the constituents of an actual self, all such wrong views lead to pain (dukkhata) and suffering (dukkha), rebirth and more ignorance (confusion, misunderstanding, not knowing, uncertainty, not-seeing, etc.).

Has one ever met a stable and enlightened shaman or drug dependent person? No because the way of shamanism and drug abuse leads to oddity and imbalance, seeing so much of the invisible and not being able to integrate it or let it go.

For all one's progress in seeing all there is, the fundamental problems have not been addressed or solved.

But a wandering ascetic, a Buddhist monastic living in accordance with the Monastic Code of Discipline (Vinaya), the Patimokkha, practicing in accordance with the Buddha's Dharma for calm and insight, that person realizes what is real and what is not and is thereby liberated here and now in this very life.

There's no comparison between lifestyles, the route (maze) of drugs or the Middle Path to enlightenment.

If drugs were needed, the Buddha and subsequent arhats would have revealed that. What is needed is "clear seeing" (vipassana) built atop a stabile foundation of samadhi (absorbed stillness and concentration).

The time 5-MeO-DMT voided the EGO

Duncan Trussell deleted himself from existence on 5-MeO-DMT: Tales from the Trip
Peter Griffin says, Don't do Toad. (Family  Guy)
(Animated) WEST HOLLYWOOD, California - Duncan Trussell had his mind annihilated, dry-erased, extirpated, voided when he smoked too much 5-MeO-DMT (aka "The Void" or Sonoran toad venom).

ABOUT Tales from the Trip: Don’t have the time, the money, or the connections to take drugs with famous comedians? Tales from the Trip is here to help. Go on an animated psychedelic journey with funny people as they recount their scary, hilarious, and sometimes dangerous experiences with DMT, acid, shrooms, Salvia divinorum, Molly (MDMA, Ecstasy), and more.

There is no ego, so is Toad mental medicine?

It's always fun to answer this easy question about drugs, whether they are natural entheogens or industrial waste synthetic chemicals. The answer is easy. Look at people who have taken these drugs. Do they look and behave like enlightened individuals, rational, sensitive, and aware of their surroundings? Or are they space cadets with ticks, quirks, and loopy tales from beyond?

If, for example, LSD were the answer, hippies would be well-adjusted spiritual leaders, and "Jim" from TAXI would be his bright Harvard self with depth and clarity.

Let's front. These are our stage egos.
"Man, I hallucinated I was Fat Happy Budda, like all rotund and bald, and like giving out candy to kids from my sack. It was supremo. Totally recommend it." Is this the person to take advice from?

What the heck was that? Were we dreaming?
Another person, gardening in the Plant Pharmacy, cobbles together experiences and joins them with reflection and insight, realizes anything might advance one toward awakening, not because of the experience so much as the response to experiences.

Anything might ignite an expansion, an opening of the heart or mind. What happens happens because of the state of mind. Set and setting are vital, mental state and environment. Ready for a near-death experience? Toad is like an NDE. Ready to meet GOD (Brahman)? Imagine a meditation experience before we're ready for it, before we're settled, steady, calm, and tranquil.

Psychedelic Experience (Leary)
Advice? Proceed with caution. Have a shaman at the ready. This is not a game and nothing to play with. The stoned ape did not enjoy its rude awakening. Looking back, it was good that it happened, but to do it again, take precautions or do not call it "journey." It's just reckless recreational psychonauting punishable by death (or near-death). Follow with integration or expect to sound half-baked for years.

Science: psychedelics heal mind and body

Eric Ralls (Earth via MSN, 3/8/24; Pat Macpherson, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
But what if my "ego" temporarily dies? Ego-death, it sounds too risky. How would I carry on?
Psychedelic compounds secreted by toad skin greatly improve cognitive functioning (Earth)
.
What would Shiva, the Destroyer, do?
A combination of two psychedelic compounds (entheogenic substances) demonstrated significant efficacy in treating a range of symptoms, including depression, anxiety, and cognitive impairments, in U.S. special operations forces veterans [presumably suffering from severe PTSD due to all of their immoral deception and covert militant activity involving killing and subterfuge].

This novel approach [taking drugs to treat the head and heart] might offer a beacon of hope for many veterans who do not find relief in traditional therapies.

The government tricked me into becoming a killer
Which psychedelic compound was used? The treatment regimen combined two psychedelic drugs.

The first, [Iboga] ibogaine hydrochloride, is sourced from the West African shrub called iboga. The second, [Bufo] 5-MeO-DMT, is a substance secreted from the [Mexican] Colorado River toad.

Both these substances are categorized as Schedule I drugs under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act, a classification reserved for drugs with no current accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse [which is a disgusting abuse of the law as no one abuses these entheogens for mere recreational use because they have the tendency to cure addiction as well as giving life-changing trips].

This research, spearheaded by The Ohio State University (osu.edu), discovered not only alleviation in symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) [Aha!] but also a noteworthy improvement in cognitive functions related to traumatic brain injury. [Entheogens heal both matters of the heart and body? PTSD is a mental disorder, whereas TBI is physical damage to an organism's brain or cranial contents, such as feeder veins and capillaries.]

The latter finding was especially unexpected and sheds new light on the vast potential of psychedelic treatments.
Unique challenges in treating veterans

I was raped by my C.O. He called it 'friendly fire'
Alan Davis, the lead author and the director of the Center for Psychedelic Drug Research and Education (CPDRE) at Ohio State's College of Social Work, emphasized the unique challenges faced by special operations forces veterans.

"Their routine exposure to traumatic events often results in a mix of problems including traumatic brain injury, which predisposes them to a plethora of mental health challenges," said Davis.

He noted the most "striking results" were the observed improvements in cognitive functioning linked to brain injuries.
  • VIDEO: Psychedelic mushrooms have potential to help Americans overcome numerous ailments: Ashley Troxell (FOX News)
How the study was conducted
Most of the veterans in this study involving psychedelic drugs had been on active duty post the 9/11 tragedy. They sought care for a gamut of issues ranging from memory problems, depression, PTSD to sleep disturbances, fatigue, and anger.

An astounding 86% of these veterans had experienced head injuries, attributing many of their symptoms to these past traumas.

To measure the efficacy [effectiveness] of the treatment, 86 veterans were asked to complete pre-treatment questionnaires that gauged various mental health symptoms.

The treatment protocol involved administering a single oral dose of ibogaine hydrochloride and inhalation doses of 5-MeO-DMT on separate days.

These drug administrations were flanked by preparation and reflection sessions [in consideration of set and setting, which are essential to successful psychedelic experiences].

Therapy results from psychedelic drugs
The results were indeed promising. A month after the treatment, the veterans reported significant improvements in symptoms of PTSD, depression, anger, and insomnia.

Moreover, there was a substantial uptick in their life satisfaction. These benefits remained consistent even at the three- and six-month post-treatment check-ins.

Furthermore, the veterans experienced improvements in disability, post-concussive symptoms, and showcased tremendous growth in psychological flexibility and cognitive function.

The latter, improved cognitive function, piqued Davis's interest. He believes further investigation is needed to discern whether this improvement stems from a reduction in mental health symptoms, biological alterations in the brain's signaling, or a combination of both.

Insightful and mystical experiences reported
Man, it was great. The whole world was peace
Moreover, Davis highlighted the association of psychological flexibility with insightful and mystical experiences induced by psychedelics [which should now be called entheogens, as they are not recreational drugs like LSD but rather shamanic substances inducing life-altering spiritual experiences].

"The higher one's psychological flexibility, the more probable is the reduction or mitigation of one's mental health symptoms," he explained.

Post-treatment feedback also revealed intriguing insights into the veterans' personal experiences. Almost half described their psychedelic experience as the most spiritually significant or psychologically insightful of their lives.

However, a smaller fraction (17.1%) also found it to be the most challenging experience they ever encountered. [Beware the potential for freaking out, panicking, or having a nightmare tour of the dark recesses of the mind and memory banks from this and/or past lives and other dimensions. Set and setting and a good guide are vital elements to include in any treatment.]

To ensure the integrity of their findings, Davis and his team adopted a conservative data analysis approach, accounting for the possibility that non-respondents might not have derived the desired benefits from the treatment.

The positive outcomes of this research emphasize the potential of psychedelic-assisted therapies, particularly for veterans with intricate trauma histories.

This underscores the need to further explore psychedelic therapies in U.S. clinical trials. Notably, Ohio State is already diving deeper into the realm by studying psilocybin-assisted therapy for PTSD treatment among military veterans.

For those keen on delving into the intricate details of this study, it's published in the esteemed American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse.

Toad Venom
That's it. That's The Toad. Watch out for it.
5-MeO-DMT
(5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine) or O-methyl-
bufotenin is a psychedelic of the tryptamine (serotonin substitute) class. It is found in a wide variety of plant species. It is also found in at least one toad species, the Sonoran Desert toad. Like its close relatives DMT and bufotenin (5-HO-DMT), it has been used as an entheogen in South America [1]. Slang terms include Five-Methoxy, The Power, and Toad Venom [2]. More
