The 'Bones of the Buddha' found (PBS)

  • The Buddha did not have a "tomb" but rather various stupa mound sites that served as repositories of his cremation ashes and relics divided among the major rulers of his day.
Bones of the Buddha (S12, E6) premiered July 23, 2013 (NR) The mystery surrounding the bones [actually the cremation remains and relics or Śarīra] of the Buddha dates back more than 100 years ago, when British colonial estate manager William Peppe set his workers to the task of digging up a mysterious "hill" (actually an ancient, buried stupa) in Northern India. Peppe had no idea what they would find a little more than 20 feet below the surface. They unearthed an astonishing discovery: a huge stone coffer, containing five reliquary jars (urns) and more than 1,000 separate jewels and gold and silver ornaments.

PBS is dedicating a full evening to the Buddha [in the summer of 2013], anchored by an intriguing new Secrets of the Dead episode called "Bones of the Buddha."

This documentary presents a convincing collection of evidence that suggests an amateur archeologist discovered a portion [1/8th] of the historical Buddha’s sacred relics more than a century ago.

Bones of the Buddha first aired Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 10:00-11:00 pm (ET) on PBS (check local listings).

Preceding Bones of the Buddha is a rebroadcast of The Buddha, acclaimed filmmaker David Grubin’s documentary about a royal [Central Asian] prince who fled the opulence of the palace more than 2,500 years ago.

Journeying on his quest for enlightenment for six years, he witnessed human suffering for the first time and had a great awakening, that eventually led to the establishing of a new religion, Buddhism.

American Buddhist Richard Gere narrates the two-hour film airing Tuesday July 23, 2023, 8:00-10:00 pm (ET) on PBS (check local listings).

The mystery surrounding the bones (cremation remains) of the Buddha dates back more than 100 years ago, when British colonial estate manager William (Willie) Peppe and his workers began digging at a mysterious hill in Northern India.
Burned bone fragments survived cremation?
Peppe had no idea what they would find just a little more than 20 feet below ground.  They unearthed a stupa that contained an astonishing discovery: a huge stone coffer, containing five reliquary jars full of
  • more than 1,000 separate jewels
  • carved semi-precious stones
  • gold and silver treasures
  • ash and bone fragments.
One of the jars bore a Sanskrit inscription which, when translated, stated the jar contained the remains of the historical Buddha himself.

Doubt and rumors of forgery have overshadowed this remarkable find, dividing Buddhist scholars for more than 100 years. Many believe the whole thing could be an elaborate hoax. Others insist the burial mound on Peppe’s estate is one of the final resting places of the leader of one of the world’s great religions, a [Scythian, Indo-Sakan] sage who died attained final-nirvana and passed away nearly 2,600 years ago.

For doubters, suspicion focuses on a key figure from the time, disgraced forgerer German archeologist Dr. Anton Führer.

Renowned historian Charles Allen sets out to solve this extraordinary mystery once and for all.  Is the little-known monument in Northern India really the Buddha’s burial mound enshrining his relics in a coffer tomb? Is this find genuine?  And if it is, who created it and when?

Allen begins his journey in England at the home of Neil Peppe, the grandson of William Peppe. From there he travels 4,000 miles to Birdpore House in India, built by the Peppe family in the 1840s.

Precious artifacts (Bones of the Buddha | PBS)
The mysterious hill known as Piprahwa where the tomb was found sits on the northern edge of the Birdpore estate.

Allen traces Peppe’s steps to authenticate the find, uncovering how the discovery became shrouded in scandal and where the Piprahwa ashes and bones reside today.

But is the inscription on the jar stating “these are the relics of the Buddha – the Lord [Bhagwan]” genuine?

Allen meets with Prof. Harry Falk at Germany’s oldest institute of Indology, the world’s leading authority on ancient Indian languages, to authenticate the ancient Brahmi script.

Though Falk’s findings may finally clear William Peppe’s name and resolve the mystery surrounding his find, Allen must still unravel who built the mound and buried the remains of the Buddha with a treasure of artifacts 2,600 year ago.

Pre-civilization pyramid found in Japan

Cunk asks all the right questions #CunkOnEarth - Neil de Grasse Tyson defends Black Egyptians

An 80-foot stepped pyramid off Japan may predate every civilization we can name
Beckham Langford, Morning Overview (MSN) June 2026
What else rests under Earth's vast oceans?
Off the Japanese coast of Yonaguni Island, divers have mapped an 80‑foot stepped formation. Some researchers are treating it as a possible submerged pyramid, others as a fractured slab of natural bedrock.

A scientific team applied surface irradiation dating and radiocarbon analysis to samples from the site and reported a formation age of about 10,000 years, raising the possibility that the structure predates every named civilization now in school textbooks.

The age estimate has turned a local curiosity into a live question about when organized construction first appeared in what is now Japan.

Why an 80-foot stepped pyramid off Japan matters now
Yonaguni pyramid ruins scuba diving expedition off of Ryukyu Islands, Japan
The central tension is no longer whether an amazing structure exists at Yonaguni, but what its age and origin say about early humans around the Westernmost Point of Japan.

If the stepped blocks at Iseki Point (Kaitei Iseki) formed around 10,000 years ago, as one scientific abstract reports, then any deliberate shaping would have happened long before the rise of states in the Middle East like Mesopotamia or Egypt's Nile Valley.
  • [But this dating would place it long after Gobekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe, and other sites like the pyramids of Egypt and Sudan/Nubia, which are possibly 25,000+ years old, to make no mention of Plato's mythical Atlantis or Mexico's Aztlán].
Location of Japan's Ryukyu Islands
That gap is what makes the site have global relevance rather than making it merely a regional diving attraction. The age estimate comes from samples collected at Iseki Point on the seafloor and analyzed with a surface irradiation dating method, according to an ETDE/OSTI bibliographic record.

The same record states that 14C age determination of attached fossils was used alongside irradiation data to estimate when the submarine ruins formed, and it gives a figure of about 10,000 years for that formation age.

Those numbers anchor the debate: If the structure is that old, any human role would push organized stonework in the region far earlier than currently documented...

Additional context comes from work that links the Yonaguni structure to the wider history of the Ryukyu Islands. A study cited through a digital object identifier treats the site within the paleogeography of the region and references “Paleogeography of Ryukyu Islands and” the submarine ruins off Yonaguni, Okinawa, Japan, according to the record for Kasekiken.

By placing the formation within a broader reconstruction of sea levels and island positions, that research frames the Iseki Point structure as one data point in a changing coastal system rather than as an isolated anomaly. More:

World's largest pyramid in Mexico, not Egypt

Great Pyramid of Cholula: largest pyramid in world (Travel Landscapes Destinations)
USA's massive pyramids

El Mirador (which is Spanish for "The Lookout," "The Viewpoint," or "The Belvedere") is a large pre-Columbus Middle and Late Preclassic (1000 BC–250 AD) Maya settlement in Mesoamerica, located in the north of the modern department of El Petén, Guatemala.

It is part of the Mirador-Calakmul Karst Basin of northern Guatemala [1]. El Mirador is considered to be the most important complex of ancient cities from the Preclassic period.

Cholula Pyramid, Pueblo, Mexico, size of a mountain, topped by an imperial Catholic church
.
It features causeways and pyramids, among which the pyramid of La Danta stands out, one of the tallest and most voluminous in the world [likely the world's largest even bigger than Cholula in Mexico, Giza in Egypt, but maybe not as large as the Bosnian Pyramid or the mountain Gunung Padang in formerly Buddhist Indonesia or the world's largest excavated Buddhist temple, which is a pyramid called Borobudur].

.
The site is estimated to comprise some 800 cities, and the location of La Danta was the epicenter of trade, religious ceremonies, and the royal residence of rulers. Furthermore, the city was interconnected with others via 13 causeways, representing its power over the other Mayan cities in the region [2].

El Mirador has white roads measuring 40 meters wide and between 2 and 5 meters high, forming what researchers consider the world's first highway system or superhighway [3]. More

Mountain Sheep petroglyph, Moab, Utah, USA
What is an indigenous "petroglyph"?
A petroglyph is an image created by the removal of part of a rock surface by carving, picking, chipping, incising, or abrading, as a form of rock art. The term generally refers to rock engravings of ancient origin, often associated with prehistoric peoples like the Natives of North America (USA), Mesoamerica (Mexico), and throughout the world. The oldest petroglyphs in the world are deemed to be those at Murujuga in Western Australia, which are thought to be 40,000–50,000 years old. Some petroglyphs are classified as protected monuments, and some have been added to the list of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, or such status has been applied for. More

Epstein's Zorro Ranch, New Mexico
So many reported crimes, so few investigations
Zorro Ranch, renamed "Rancho de San Rafael," is Jeffrey Epstein's large private property located near Stanley, New Mexico, USA, about 30 miles (48 km) south of Santa Fe. It was owned by the Zionist financier, Israeli spy, blackmailer, child rapist, pimp (sex trafficker), and convicted Jewish child molester Jeffrey Epstein from 1993 until his faked "death" in 2019. In 1999, Epstein built a massive complex (mansion with underground structures) on his property. The sprawling compound eventually included a private airstrip, helicopter pad, and airplane hangar. The estate of Jeffrey Epstein (presumably run by Jeffrey, the Mossad, CIA, FBI, or other Zionist-controlled corporate body) sold the property, at least in name, in 2023 to Dallas real estate magnate and former state senator Don Huffines. Tartaria and 13 were purposely erased

Why they made '13' a forbidden number
Thirteen is good, special, and banned
(Tartaria Vault) Feb. 26, 2026: What explains how a number once treated as sacred across dozens of unconnected ancient civilizations — a number embedded in natural lunar cycles, temple architecture, cosmological frameworks, and the very structure of natural time — was systematically removed from calendars, hospitals, airports, hotels, and cultural consciousness, without a single serious public reckoning about what that erasure actually cost us?

The standard explanation — that 13 became unlucky through accumulated folklore and religious association — collapses when we examine what the evidence actually shows: not a gradual cultural drift, but a coordinated, institutionally enforced disappearance.

Everyone used to know about Tartaria.
No law required it. No international standard mandated it. Yet airlines, architects, racing circuits, and hospitals across different countries and languages all arrived at the same conclusion simultaneously, consistently as if following (implicit) instructions they didn't fully understand.

As I investigated the ancient record — from the Mayan Tzolk'in to the Druidic tree calendar to the Osirian mysteries of Egypt to the turtle-shell lunar counts of indigenous North America — a disturbing pattern materialized.

Of course, we had to cover it up. That goes...
These weren't parallel coincidences across unconnected cultures. They were the same underlying logic: 13 lunar cycles per year, 13 as a cosmic threshold, 13 as the number that resists clean division and refuses to be controlled, all embedded in stone and ceremony across continents and millennia. Then, quietly, it was gone because here's what the replacement also did.

The 12-month calendar didn't just reorganize administrative time, it may have severed something older: the synchronization between human beings and natural cycles — body, moon, season, sky — that had structured life across every pre-modern culture was superseded.

It was not banned, not destroyed outright, just reframed allegedly as "superstition," pathologized, given a clinical name. And the generations that remembered another way of counting time died without passing that memory forward.

This investigation asks whether the disappearance of 13 was accidental — or whether it was the point, whether the most effective erasure isn't the one that destroys knowledge entirely, but the one that makes the question itself seem ridiculous. Once one sees the pattern, one can't unsee it.

Great Pyramid: 20K-y.-o. lost civilization?

For more than a century, Egyptologists have dated the Great Pyramid at Giza in Cairo ("Mars"), Egypt, to around 2580 BC, about 4,600 years ago.

A controversial new study now claims the monument could be tens of thousands of years older.

Italian engineer Alberto Donini from the University of Bologna said erosion patterns at the pyramid's base suggest it may have been built between 20,000 and 40,000 years ago, far earlier than the conventional timeline. [This idea was stolen from much braver investigators who made the claim and brought forward the evidence for it long ago.]

Donini's Relative Erosion Method (REM) estimated the pyramid's age by comparing how much erosion occurred on stones exposed since construction with nearby stones whose exposure time is known. By measuring the difference in wear, he calculated how long the older stones have been exposed, producing dates that far exceed traditional estimates.

The study, which has not yet been peer-reviewed, examined 12 points around the pyramid's base. Some measurements suggested tens of thousands of years of erosion, with the average pointing to roughly 25,000 years.

Donini also proposed that Pharaoh Khufu may have renovated the pyramid rather than built it, potentially revising assumptions about its original authorship.

If the dates proposed by Donini are accurate, the Great Pyramid could predate not only the reign of Khufu but also the rise of any known advanced civilizations, raising fundamental questions about human history and architectural knowledge in the distant past.

Archeologists have long dated the Great Pyramid to about 4,600 years old. But an engineer has proposed the iconic structure is much older

It sits alongside the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx, all shrouded in mystery due to their precise alignment, unusual construction methods, and debated purpose. • Garudas (suparnas) are the Avians or "Bird People" (Greco-Roman Harpies) in Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain cosmologies
  • In Greek and Roman mythology, a Harpy (plural Harpies, Ancient Greek ἅρπυια, Romanized hárpyia [1,2], Latin harpȳia [3]) is a mythical half-human and half-bird creature, often believed to be a personification of storm winds [4]. They feature in Homeric poems [5].
Garuda (mount) of God Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi
Garuda (Sanskrit गरुड, Romanized Garuḍa, Pali गरुळ, Romanized Garuḷa) is a Hindu deity who is primarily depicted as the mount (vahana) of the Hindu God Vishnu (the Preserver or Sustainer). This divine creature is mentioned in the Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain religions [1, 5, 6].

Garuda is also the half-brother of the Devas (light beings, deities), Gandharvas (divine messengers, angels), Daityas (Asuras), Danavas, Nāgas (snakes, serpents, dragons, reptilians), Vanara and Yakshas (ogres). He is the son of the sage Kashyapa and Vinata. He is the younger brother of Aruna, the charioteer of the Sun (Surya).

Garuda is mentioned in several other [Brahminical and Hindu] texts such as the Puranas and the Vedas.

Garuda is described as the king of the birds and a kite-like figure [7, 8]. He is shown either in a zoomorphic form (a giant bird with partially open wings) or an anthropomorphic form (a man with wings and some bird-like features).

Garuda is generally portrayed as a protector with the power to swiftly travel anywhere, ever vigilant and an enemy of every serpent [1, 8, 9]. He is also known as Tarkshya and Vainateya. More

Garden hospital marked by caduceus?
Neak Pean (or Neak Poan) [2] (Khmer ប្រាសាទនាគព័ន្ធ, "the Entwined Serpents") at Angkor, Cambodia, is an artificial island (ancient hospital and plant pharmacy) and reservoir.

It is a Mahayana Buddhist temple on a circular island in Jayatataka Baray, which was associated with Preah Khan Temple, said to have been built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII [3]: 389. It is the "Mebon" of the Preah Khan baray (the "Jayatataka" of the inscription) [4].
Etymology
Caduceus: two entwined (winged) serpents are the Western symbol of "medicine"
.
The Garden had a medicinal pond for plants?
Some historians believe that Neak Pean represents Anavatapta [5]: 174 , a mythical lake in the Himalayas whose waters are thought to cure all illnesses [6]: 124–125 [7].

The name is derived from the sculptures of snakes (nāgas, reptilians, dragons, serpents) running around the base of the temple structure, neak being the Khmer translation of the Sanskrit word naga.

"They are Nanda and Upa-Nanda, two nagas traditionally associated with Lake Anavatapta" [8]. More
