Let us repeat God's name (Gnostic)

When God was asked its name, the answer that came was: I am. Who? I am that I am. But did the Teacher not teach that we ourselves are God (GOD, Godhead, Godhood, Brahman?) in a state where we imagine separation from source, from the All One, from connection?

If so, could it be that I am that "I am" of which they speak when asking God's real name? Why did the Church and ancient Judaism forbid the pronunciation of this "name"?

It's interesting that a part of Eight Limb (Ashtanga) Yoga is japa, or the repetition of a divine name (or God's name) as a mantra ("mind instrument") for concentration/meditation.

This "Word of God" was BANNED for being too powerful
(MorgueOfficial) Started streaming March 24, 2025: An ancient divine force was hidden, silenced, and nearly erased. Why? Because it revealed a truth too powerful for religion to control. This isn’t the Word you read in church… See Dawn of the New Earth (The Neogenian Dawn)

Not in my officially-approved state religion!
  • YHWH (Yahweh, Jehovah, YHVH) is, in Kabbala, the Tetragrammaton, which is four characters (yodh, he, waw, he) representing the Four Elements (the dhātus or maha-bhuta in Buddhism). If "spirit" (sh or shin) is inserted in the middle, the name becomes Yeheshua (Yahoshua, Yeshua, Yesus, Iesus, Issa, Yahoo, etc.)
  • Mahā-bhÅ«ta: The four "primary elements" (or ultimate characteristics of matter), is another name for the Four Eements (dhātu) underlying all materiality.

Trans, pronouns, lesbian rapists, South Park

Eds., Wisdom Quarterly
My adjectives are "Pretty" and "Brainy." By law you have to call me that or it's violence. - OK.

If you thought pronouns were crazy…
Male-lesbian charged with rapes in female prison
(JP Reacts) Aug. 30, 2023: JP Sears used to be funny, an ironic comic, but has gotten more and more serious in reaction to how crazy things are getting. The Onion doesn't work anymore. We're in the Post Ironic Age.

Today's video reacts to a TikTok from a lovely they/them named ["Bug"?] educating us on how to identify as specific nouns rather than stupid general pronouns.

Biologically-female lesbians discriminating against "male-lesbians"

I'll sue those fellow women of mine!
What's a "woman"? Nobody knows (or no one dare say). So I am a "woman" if I say I think of myself as one. That's all it takes. Everybody has to go along now! So naturally, being a woman, I can also be a lesbian if I say I think I feel like I am. Everybody has to go along! Don't worry what's in my shorts, I mean, my skorts. It could be anything. That's none of anybody's business but mine and my therapist's.

What about me? I'm non-binary. Can I play?
So now these racist, homophobic, transphobic lesbian JERKS at the pub are going to get a strongly worded letter from my lawyers at the ACLU: Let me into your lesbian speed-dating night...or else! Do you really want to take that chance in Justice Garland's court?

Lesbian rapist music teacher caught with female student

Lesbian [bi?] music teacher charged after husband reports her inappropriate relationship with female student
(CBS Pittsburgh, 5/17/22): Lesbian pedophile? A former female music teacher in Lawrence County, PA, is the second teacher in the school's music department to face child molestation charges. This perp (Choir Director Olivia Ortz) replaced the former perp, who is still awaiting trial, two years ago. So how many female students might she have molested in that time?
(Law&Crime Network, Sept. 2, 2023) Ruby Franke, a 41-year-old Mormon mom and famous YouTuber influencer, was arrested on Wednesday for disturbing allegations of child abuse. Franke, known for her “8 Passengers” YouTube channel, allegedly tied up two of her children with duct tape and starved them until one escaped and ran to a neighbor’s house to beg for food and water. Her [lesbian?] female business partner at Connexions Classroom, Jodi Hilderbrandt, was also arrested and their videos taken down. The Law&Crime Network’s Jesse Weber breaks down the disturbing case with legendary homicide detective Fil Waters. The story: bit.ly/3EreBhr.

'Don't be bullied': Lesbian speed-dating event allowed to ban trans women
(Sky News Australia) Sept. 3, 2023: Jenny Watson, the organizer of a London lesbian speed-dating event, has warned to not be "bullied by EDI policies" following a transphobia row (fight) that led to her gaining the right to exclude biological men. Ms. Watson made the remarks during an interview with GB News.

Being JP Sears (is not easy)
I'm "spiritual as h*ll," way more than you (JP).
A satirist in a post-ironic world is not easy. It's next to impossible. We see what they tried to do to Sarah Silverman. The Secret Police are out there scouring in search of any piece of deviant evidence. They found Jimmy Kimmel in blackface, but somehow he survived due to his ratings on a major network. Others haven't been so lucky.

Wisdom of the Thai Forest: Mind and Body

Ajahn Thate via Ven. Sujato, Ellie Askew; Dhr. Seven, CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

I'm so beautiful! But not for long.
A basic tenet of "the Dharma," the Buddha's teachings, is that mind-and-body or nama-rupa work together inter-dependently in a feedback loop, but the mind controls the body.

The mind orders the body to do this or that activity. And when the body wears down, the mind is necessarily put through some hardship for it.

Mind does not reside under the control of the nervous system, although the brain may be regarded as a central office along with the whole spinal column and its tendrils (the CNS and PNS).

We're going to live forever; we can afford to.
When the body dies, disintegrating in accordance with the nature of its various elements, the mind will have to reappear.*

[*If the necessary conditions of unawareness (ignorance), craving and attachment (clinging), and karma are still present [and they would be unless one were fully enlightened and no longer engaged in karma (actions with the ability to produce fruits and mental-resultants) rather than mere kriyas  (simple functional actions).]

That is to say, the mind will have to be reborn on this or that or any of the 31 Planes of Existence to continue experiencing the results of skillful and unskillful karma (actions), which are a wellspring of disappointment (dukkha), manifesting as delight and suffering, pleasure and distress.

Ajahn Chah: Oil and Water

Oil and water separation at its best: Looking for faster and more efficient separation of produced water from crude oil (wartsila.com)

Oil and water are different in the same way that a wise person and an ignorant one are different.

The Buddha lived with form (physical body, materiality), sound, fragrance, taste, touch, and thought. He was an enlightened being, so he was able to turn away from them rather than toward them.

He turned away and LET GO little by little because he understood that the heart is just the heart and thought is just thought. He didn’t confuse them or mix them together.

The heart is just the heart. Thoughts and feelings are just thoughts and feelings. Let things be as they are. Let form be just form, let sound be just sound, let thought be just thought.

Why should we let ourselves become attached to them? If we feel and think in this way (seeing them as just feelings and just thoughts) then there arises detachment and separateness.

Our thoughts and feelings will be on one side and our heart will be on the other. Just like oil and water, they may be in the same bottle but they are separate.

The (New) Lord's Prayer; Mary's Heart Sutra

Seven and Fehrensen, Wisdom Quarterly, based on Conze translation (syncretism conceiving of Mary as a representation of Kwan Yin and both as the Divine Feminine)
The Buddhist Goddess Kwan Yin, Bodhisattva of Compassion who hears the cries of the world, is sometimes conceived of as a female buddha, Wat Plai Laem, Koh Samui Island, southern Thailand (Joachim Leppala/Flickr.com)

Divine Source
Who art in consciousness
Hallowed be thy name-and-form
Empire come where will is One
On Earth as it is in space
Thank you for granting our daily wishes
And for overlooking our awkward trespasses
Lead us unto liberation, and point the way
To avoid all that is unskillful

Aum

The (Immaculate) Heart Sutra

Virgin Maryām [Note 1], blessed bodhisattva [lord] full of grace,
Was cultivating the perfection of wisdom
When she perceived that all Five Heaps are impersonal.
She thereby overcame all suffering [and exclaimed]:

"O, Wise One, form does not differ from the impersonal [the empty],
The impersonal does not differ from form.
Whatever is form, that is impersonal,
Whatever impersonal, that is form.
The same is true of feelings,
Perceptions, mental formations, and consciousness."

The immaculate heart of Mary (campus.udayton.edu)

"Herein, all phenomena bear the universal mark of the impersonal.
They are neither produced nor stopped,
Neither defiled nor immaculate,
Neither deficient nor complete [but are beyond all duality].

"Therefore, O Wise One, in the impersonal
There is neither form, nor feeling, nor perception,
nor formation, nor consciousness;

"No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind [sense apparatuses];
No forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tangibles,
nor objects of mind [sense impressions];
No sight-organ element [sensitive material in the eye],
and so forth, until we come to:
No mind-consciousness element [heart base];

"There is no ignorance, no extinction of ignorance,
and so forth, until we come to:
There is no decay and death, no extinction of decay and death.
There is no suffering, no origination, no stopping, no path.
There is no cognition, no attainment, and no lack of attainment.

"Therefore, O Wise One, it is because of one's non-attaining
That a bodhisattva, through having cultivated the perfection
of wisdom [prajna-paramitta],
Dwells without conceiving.
In the absence of conceiving, one is free of trembling,
Having overcome all that can upset
and in the end attains to nirvana [2].

"All who appear as fully awakened teachers
in the past, present, and future
Fully awake to the utmost, supreme and perfect illumination,
Because they have cultivated the perfection of wisdom.

"Therefore one should recognize the perfection
of wisdom as the great blessing,
The blessing of great knowledge, the utmost blessing,
the unequalled blessing,
Allayer of all suffering, in truth -- for what could go wrong?

"The perfection of wisdom has brought it about:

Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha!
(Gone, gone, gone beyond, gone altogether beyond, O what an illumination, amen!)

"This completes the heart [pithy essence] of perfect wisdom."

1. Avalokiteshvara, "the lord who hears the cries of the world," came to be called Kwan Yin, who also takes the form of the Virg Yin, popularly known in the West and in Islam as Mother Mary. Originally an Indian male, the figure metamorphosed in the popular imagination into a Chinese female and then a goddess (devi). So it is not a stretch to reconcile them: They embody and represent the same thing in the marriage of wisdom and compassion.

2. An alternative phrasing might run: "There is no wisdom, and there is no attaining whatsoever. Because there is nothing to be attained, the bodhisattva pursuing the perfection of wisdom has no obstruction of mind. Because there is no obstruction, one has no fear, and one passes far beyond confused imagining and ultimately experiences nirvana.

Where there is Passion (Samy XII.64)

Buddhist monks memorizing and chanting sutras, Wat Sudat, Thailand (jaywye.com)

Originally this sutra evolved out of a long oral tradition. Therefore, it was chanted and memorized by rote, utilizing repetitive phrasings for ease of memory. This made it easier to hear and follow, much like the Greek poets -- for example, Homer's Iliad and Odyssey -- who recounted epic tales with history and a moral embroidered in. The following includes ellipses (...) minimizing this for readers, but this traditional flavor remains (WQ Editor).

Atthi Raga Sutta (Samyutta Nikaya XII.64)

Thus have I heard. The Buddha was dwelling at Savatthi...

"There are these four nutriments for the establishing of beings who have taken birth or for the support of those in search of a place to be born. What are the four?
  1. physical food, gross or refined is first;
  2. contact is the second,
  3. consciousness the third, and
  4. intellectual intention the fourth.
These are the four nutriments for the establishing of beings or for the support of those in search of a place to be born.

"Where there is passion, delight, and craving for the nutriment of physical food, consciousness lands there and grows. Where consciousness lands and grows, name-and-form alights. Where name-and-form alights, there is the growth of mental-fabrications. Where there is the growth of mental-fabrications, there is the production of renewed becoming in the future.

Where there is the production of renewed becoming in the future, there is future birth, aging, and death, together, I tell you, with sorrow, affliction, and despair.

"Where there is passion, delight, and craving for the nutriment of contact...

"Where there is passion, delight, and craving for the nutriment of consciousness...

"Where there is passion, delight, and craving for the nutriment of intellectual intention, consciousness lands there and grows. Where consciousness lands and grows, name-and-form alights. Where name-and-form alights, there is the growth of mental-fabrications.

"Where there is the growth of mental-fabrications, there is the production of renewed becoming in the future. Where there is the production of renewed becoming in the future, there is future birth, aging, and death, together, I tell you, with sorrow, affliction, and despair.

"Just as -- when there is dye, lac, yellow pigment, indigo, or crimson -- a dyer or painter would paint a picture of a woman or a man, complete in all its parts, on a well polished panel or wall, or on a piece of cloth. In the same way, where there is passion, delight, and craving for the nutriment of physical food... contact... consciousness... intellectual intention, consciousness lands there and grows.

"Where consciousness lands and grows, name-and-form alights.

"But where there is no passion for the nutriment of physical food, where there is no delight, no craving, then consciousness does not land there or grow.

"Where consciousness does not land or grow, name-and-form does not alight. Where name-and-form does not alight, there is no growth of mental-fabrications. Where there is no growth of mental-fabrications, there is no production of renewed becoming in the future. Where there is no production of renewed becoming in the future, there is no future birth, aging, and death. That, I tell you, has no sorrow, affliction, or despair.

"Where there is no passion for the nutriment of contact...Where there is no passion for the nutriment of consciousness...Where there is no passion for the nutriment of intellectual intention...

"Where there is no growth of mental-fabrications, there is no production of renewed becoming in the future. Where there is no production of renewed becoming in the future, there is no future birth, aging, and death. That, I tell you, has no sorrow, affliction, or despair.

"Just as if there were a roofed house or a roofed hall having windows on the north, the south, or the east. When the sun rises, and a ray has entered by way of the window, where does it land?"

"On the western wall, sir."

"And if there is no western wall, where does it land?"

"On the ground, sir."

"And if there is no ground, where does it land?"

"On the water, sir."

"And if there is no water, where does it land?"

"It does not land, sir."

"In the same way, where there is no passion for the nutriment of physical food... contact... consciousness... intellectual intention, where there is no delight, no craving, then consciousness does not land there or grow. Where consciousness does not land or grow, name-and-form does not alight.

"Where name-and-form does not alight, there is no growth of mental-fabrications. Where there is no growth of mental-fabrications, there is no production of renewed becoming in the future.

"Where there is no production of renewed becoming in the future, there is no future birth, aging, and death. That, I tell you, has no sorrow, affliction, or despair."
