(Billboard) Organizers for the California festival Desert Daze have called off this year's event. In an announcement organizers stated:
"It is no longer possible to execute the weekend as planned."
The event, which has remained independent since launching in 2012, was unable to move forward with the 2024 edition due to "rising production costs and the current volatile festival market," according to the announcement.

"Desert Daze is more than a festival or business venture to us," said Desert Daze co-founder Phil Pirrone in a release. "The community that we've cultivated together means so much to us and is the reason we will work to find a way to keep this beautiful thing going for many years to come."

The 2024 edition of Desert Daze was set to take place Oct. 10-13 in Lake Perris, California. Headliners for this year's event were to include:
"With each year, we do our best to serve the Desert Daze community," added Pirrone. "We are always learning and working diligently to improve the experience, and we tried everything to find a way forward this year. While we hit pause for now, we will be working in the background to deliver another special experience for all of us to share in the future. We thank you for your support."
All pass holders for the 2024 festival will be refunded and will be contacted directly via their point of purchase. While the main event will not take place this year, side shows under the Desert Daze Presents banner will go forward as scheduled.

They saw him, photographed him, asked about him, sent a report about him up the chain of command, and ultimately did nothing. It is said the real life SS Sniper Wolf had Crooks in his sights. But for all that, he was allowed to carry on until after he took his shot (5 to 10 shots). We can't help but believe that if he had succeeded, this would be as big a story as JFK and patsy Lee Harvey Oswald, who didn't shoot but gets all the blame by design. The grassy knoll, the shooter(s) from the front, and other riflemen spotted on the scene and never accounted for, the perfect condition of a fake magic bullet placed behind JFK's head on the gurney, the secret autopsy, all of which point to a CIA plan and extensive cover up (including a phony Warren Report), not to mention the totally unjustified continued classification of vital records for another 75 years or until anyone who cares is long since passed away, suggest there is more to this attempted murder than just some white Republican gun nut with a grudge against Trump's personality shooting because Trump came to his neighborhood. Day of Deceit: Truth About Pearl Harbor
What's the big deal? That's how we do all wars
Author Robert B. Stinnett (narrated by Rafael Ferrer) has a 4.6 out of 5 stars with 490 ratings. The great question about Pearl Harbor -- What did we know and when did we know it? -- has been argued for years.
However, no investigator has previously been able to PROVE that foreknowledge of Japan's attack existed at the highest levels. The U.S. knew it because the U.S. provoked it on purpose. Until now. After decades of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, researcher Robert B. Stinnett has gathered the long-hidden evidence that shatters every lie about Pearl Harbor.
Not only was the attack expected, it was deliberately provoked by FDR's government through an eight-step program devised by the Navy.
Previous investigators have claimed that the U.S. government did not crack Japan's military codes before Dec. 7, 1941. But Stinnett offers cable after cable of decryptions. We did crack it.
Stinnett proves that a Japanese spy on the island transmitted information -- including a map of bombing targets -- beginning on August 21, and that we knew all about it. The evidence is overwhelming.
At the highest levels -- on FDR's desk -- America had ample warning of the pending attack. The attack happened in slow motion. The U.S. moved the ships from their old home in San Diego to their new home in Hawaii -- 1,500 miles closer to Japan to tempt them. We moved the important ships, leaving just junk and young men to be bombed.
At those same levels, it was understood that the isolationist American public (not wanting to be involved in foreign war but isolating ourselves to U.S. problems) would not support or fund a declaration of war. Unless we were attacked first. (We could not wait for that, so we brought it on and cried, "What a surprise!")
The result was a plan to methodically incite Japan, to keep the loyal officers responsible for Pearl Harbor in the dark, and to drag America into the largest war of its many, many wars.
The U.S. had broken the code and knew ALL about Japan's plans to bomb Hawaii. There was no surprise and no need to retaliate by joining WWII. The U.S. wanted to join and needed a pretext. It let U.S. soldiers be killed to make sure it got its pretext.
This is U.S. propaganda at its finest, at its most usual. War is a racket, and this is business as usual. The U.S. moved its important ships out to sea for safety, leaving behind old wrecks in need of demolition. Many sailors were also left out as bait.
Every war gets a pretext now.
It took Japan weeks to arrive, and as kamikaze fighters flew, they knew it was a trap. But it was too late. They were taken in by the U.S. ruse. They bombed, they dove, they got shot down. It was all a trick, all for nothing, no surprise to U.S. forces.
Japan was doomed, and the U.S. already had a super bomb in the works that it would drop to demonstrate to the world who the new Empire was and who would be calling the shots on the planet from then on. It wasn't going to be Hitler's Germany and the Nazis.

The pope suggested that the Catholic Church may be open to blessing same-sex unions, which is a major step in one direction.

LGBTQ+ Advocates Are Pleased With the Progressive Movement
The letter is said to “significantly advance” efforts to welcome LGBTQ+ Catholics into the church without judgment.
New Ways Ministry, an organization that advocates for the LGBTQ+ community within the church, was overjoyed by the pope’s unexpected change of heart, saying that it’s “one big straw towards breaking the camel’s back” toward gay people becoming more accepted in the Catholic religion.

The Bible and the Church Have Been Opposed to Same-Sex Unions for Centuries

See, Doggone, the thing is, you're "efforting." You're trying to muscle it. It doesn't work that way. It just doesn't. But a fool who persists in his folly, there's something to be said for that. There's something to learn by that approach, like Sid did under the first tree. It was a sal (not a bodhi) tree. He pushed it to the extreme ascetic limit and nearly died. So carry on.
If Zen, Taoism, and Chinese Chan are all about being spontaneous and "natural," how can anyone will it? Christians and Jews joke, "If you want to make God (or the Universe) laugh, tell it your plans." Karma works in mysterious ways. How can you push it or "do" it? It just is. Let it be. Allow it rather than forcing it. Here, take a lesson from Zen Women.
