Democracy needs third (and fourth and more) parties, not fewer. They influence the major party, with its two wings that are often interchangeable and playing a PR game to seem extremely different. The differences are symbolic and often superficial. Nothing changes. The country runs on a war economy, and a person says, "I'm the peace candidate," but it isn't true.
Such a person, when elected, backs war as required by the "Deep State," Pentagon, CIA (NSA, NSC, DHS, FBI, IRS, and the rest of the surveillance state's alphabet).
I have to tell it like it is: Kamala is fake.
The successful lifelong politicians learn this early and "go along to get along" and before long, they are champions of the system doing more than going along. RFK Jr. is a Kennedy, and as such he seems to believe in democracy a little more than the party does. They have turned against him. He sees two evil sides and has chosen to back the lesser of the two evils. It was a great speech, explaining what's wrong with shiny, beautiful, empty shell Kamala. Biden was bad, Kamala is worse but a lot more pleasant.

Who was the "special guest"? (There was a change of schedule, and the secret star got pulled at the last minute due to time, with boring Roy Cooper filling in. Did the star say no thanks after all?) Where has she been keeping this ability to be coherent, soft-firm, and someone we can get behind? She's an orator after all.

Taylor has wrapped up shows in Europe with no one getting killed as was planned. Now the Devil's own daughter (as a blood clone of Aleister Crowley's Zeena) may be rushing with her football playing BF at her side to champion abortion, women's rights, and the first Black female for the country.
The rumors are flying over which huge music star might show up for Harris’s coronation tonight as the Democratic presidential nominee. Will it be Beyoncé, the Grammy-winning icon whose “Freedom” is the unofficial theme song of the Harris campaign? Or maybe Taylor Swift, whose European tour just ended and who Democrats have long seen as a huge potential endorsement (along with famous boyfriend Travis Kelce) this cycle?

Your cult figure leader is a menace who deserves to go to prison, which is unlikely even after Judge Merchan sentences him to the maximum sentence. So go pay homage to Mar a Lago on your way to Graceland, but there is no way Democrats and Independents want anything to do with backing a lying idiot who now refuses to make much trouble or speak dangerous truths to power.

Once upon a time there was a book called Hillbilly Elegy. It's not clear if Tim Walz ever read it, but he didn't need to. He lived it, unlike the author, not-so-good-old-boy, name-changing, high-powered capitalist, Yale-educated, pseudo-redneck JD Vance. On Night 3 of the DNC 2024, Walz made mincemeat out the MAGA movement and its titular head DJ and his flunky JD. This excellent choice for a running mate does present one problem: as humble and supportive as he is, he is clearly outshining the Shiny One, VP K. Devi Harris. Does she have any chance of presenting a speech anywhere as well as T. Walz, B. Clinton, B.S. Obama, Michael/Michelle Obama, Cat Lady Oprah, Genocide Joe, or AOC? Not blooming likely. Tim is a natural, the real thing.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, taking place against the backdrop of an unpopular [US proxy] war opposed by a growing number of voters, carries echoes of the 1968 DNC in the same city, when police violently attacked protesters calling for an end to the war in Vietnam. Much of the police riot unfolded on live national television, showing police, members of the National Guard and U.S. Army soldiers brutally assaulting and arresting protesters, many of them students. After four days and nights, more than 650 people were arrested and more than 1,100 injured. We look back on the infamous 1968 DNC with Bill Ayers, longtime Chicago activist, author and founding member of the Weather Underground, and Democracy Now! co-host Juan González. Both of them were in Chicago to take part in the protests. "It was really an eye-opening period for all of us who attended, who were out in the streets," says González. "Chicago showed us what the crisis in the country was, the crisis of racism and white supremacy, the crisis of empire and war," adds Ayers.
