Sinclair to air Jimmy Kimmel Live! again

Kiss the right butts in this town and you're safe.
Maybe Jimmy Kimmel is aligned with an Illuminati cabal -- friends with Oprah, Tom Hanks, and all the producers behind the scenes it wouldn't be impossible -- because someone just talked Sinclair Broadcasting Group into carrying the show on its stations after last week's massive scandal of preempting the show in league with Nexstar and Tegna, Inc.

(KTLA 5 News) 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' returns to Sinclair ABC stations: He will no longer be pre-empted. We realize we were losing money now that he has great ratings.

Trump gets Jimmy Kimmel cancelled

Could South Park be next? "We're sorry, T!" (lol)

Geppetto, whatta happened?! - Be quiet, Pinni!
And by cancelled we mean "suspended indefinitely" and by Trump we mean the Powers That Be at Nexstar Media Group, who threatened to preempt JKL from here on in, with Bob Iger/Disney-owned ABC network, rushing to say they would suspend Kimmel.

Jimmy Kimmel's show pulled 'indefinitely' by ABC after Charlie Kirk remarks
I am the Dictator, so I get what I want!!!
(CNN) Sept. 17, 2025: Disney’s ABC is taking Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night comedy talk show off the air immediately and indefinitely amid an exaggerated controversy over his recent comments about Charlie Kirk’s suspected killer. “Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely,” an ABC spokesperson said, declining to share any further details. #CNN #News

I'm pro-Hollywood. Go on tell 'em, Diddy.
Billionaire Trump has a lot of rich friends trying to get richer. And one great way to do that is to kiss up to the Orange King.

The biting satire of Kimmel every night gets under Donald's skin worse than Stephen Colbert used to.

First they came for me. I fell.
So he had to go, and brownnosers trying to sidle up to Trump have always been looking for a way. One finally found one when, returning from summer break, Kimmel dared to comment on the assassination of Charlie Kirk, daring to suggest that the real killer was "one of them" (a right winger MAGA Trump fan) not a person on the Left. This was enough to seize on.

And the head of an owner-operator [CEO Perry Sook or COO Michael Biard] said Jimmy Kimmel Live would be preempted instead of appearing on their network (Nexstar Media Group) of affiliated stations under the control of the kisser-upper. And when the money stream is threatened, Disney pays attention.

Wow, ouch, maybe I should shush
Kimmel is now "suspended indefinitely," which with no unsuspension date really means cancelled, fired, dropped, banned, censored, terminated, destroyed... What will right wing best friend comedian Adam Corolla have to say about this, torn between friendship and his severely right-wing pro-Israel (pro-Praeger U) politics.

REASON TO KISS UP: It seems Nexstar was seeking an approval for a $6.2 billion merger, awaiting federal and/or Trump administration approval.

There has been NO public meltdown (yet).
So as to curry favor with Trump, who is currently having his English muffin kissed in England by British royalty, Nexstar thought it was advantageous to get Kimmel out of Trump's hair. Disney/ABC caught on and saved Nexstar the trouble of changing its programming. Now, currently in Hollywood near Grauman's Chinese Theater, where Kimmel filmed his show, the building is being locked down so none of the hundreds of workers on the show get in.

Then there was one (Seth Meyers)

The dumbest lottery winners of all time
(ABC7) Powerball nears record with $1.3 billion jackpot for tonight's drawing. Sept.. 3, 2025: The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing has soared to an estimated $1.3-$1.4 billion, the fifth-biggest in the lottery's history, after no one claimed the top prize earlier this week, winning a measly million (before taxes). abc7.com/post/powerball...

It looks like this will end up being the 4th biggest
(SunnyV2) Playing the lottery is already incredibly stup*d. However, of all the stup*d lottery winners, there are going to be a few who are extra d*mb, including people who won the jackpot then lost everything.

From accidentally throwing a 3-million-pound (dollar) lottery ticket in the bin (trash), to spending a $16.2 million dollar prize in under 90 days, these are the absolute dumbest and stup*dest lottery winners of all time.

What's karma got to do with it?
Dhr. Seven and Amber Larson, Wisdom Quarterly 2025

For one who knows and sees
The biggest mistake I hear when listening to people talk about karma -- other than mistaking the results (fruit) for the actions, the reaping (harvest) for the sowing -- is the implicit assumption that it's what one did in this life.

When we look at someone and judge her or him, that is a judgment. It is not a reality. The unseen reality is that that person is so much more than can be seen. People are the results of their previous actions, what they did long ago and what they are doing now at this moment, both. It may be possible to do something now and seem to get the opposite result.

However, when we examine ourselves under successful meditation (profound calm and the pursuit of insight or samatha-vipassana), we can see that most of the welcome and unwelcome results manifesting now were planted long ago.

How to win? Liquify LUCK (Dr. Gallenberger)

All we do, say, think follows us with fruit.
It is relatively rare for a recent action to bear sudden results. There is usually a period of maturation, bearing fruit, ripening. So it is wise to persist in the good (skillful, wholesome, harmless) as it will surely bear fruit at some point.

Likewise, it is foolish to persist in the bad (unskillful, unwholesome, harmful) because it does not seem to have yet borne any unwelcome results. What is "good," what is "bad"? That is very easy to answer, though it may be unbelievable, in karmic terms. The real "karma," according to the Buddha is the cetana (motivation, intention, impulse) behind an act, not the act itself. With this in mind, there are six major causes or roots of ALL actions (karma):
  1. greed (craving, clinging, lust, selfishness)
  2. hatred (aversion, fear, anger, annoyance)
  3. delusion (wrong view, ignorance, confusion)
  4. nongreed (letting go, giving, generosity, selflessness)
  5. nonhatred (loving kindness, compassion, forbearance)
  6. nondelusion (insight, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, right view).
Karma: It's everywhere you're going to be.
For any act (deed, impulsive acting out, conduct), we can reflect and seek out our own underlying motive.  In this way we can know the intention (motive) behind our karma (act). It will be rooted in one of these six. The first three invariably lead to eventual harm, both immediate in terms of disturbing our mind/heart and conscience if we still have one to save us and eventual in terms of bearing fruit long after the seed was sown (planted). This is a universal law (niyama) and not the Buddha's doing. He made it known to help all living beings be happy here and now and be liberated at some time in the future.

But isn't it wrong to WANT to be a millionaire or billionaire or trillionaire? - No. Wanting is normal. Any wanting may lead to that much disappointment, and certainly if greed (tanha become lobha, thirst become avaraice) gets a hold of us, that is very likely to lead to some very unskillful karma (deeds).

Living in an Abrahamic society that calls itself Judeo-Christian, we are taught to believe that, "Money is the root of all evil." While this is not incorrect as such, it is incomplete. It's not what the Bible says. Look it up. The popular KJV says that it is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil, and that seems closer to what we find. "Desire" is not bad, as many Westerners misunderstand Buddhism to be saying. Craving is, which is to say, greed motivates many unskillful deeds, and these will have very painful results for a long time. We can see in ourselves, with no external authority telling us what's what, that the moment craving arises, unsatisfactoriness co-arises. With these springs hopes, plans, schemes, expectations...we're just setting ourselves up for a bigger and bigger fall. But say I want something -- more food, more comfort, more Avenged Sevenfold songs, more sex, more more more whatever -- and I'm willing to strive for it and worry about it and waste my time for it. Okay. So long as it's done in a lawful (codified consensus reality of the rules of our society) and harmless (ahimsa) way, that's fine. That's good. Go for it. But be aware, at least, that it will not satisfy greed. It will not (cannot) fulfill us. And in the meantime, we have not been cultivating the skillful that would lead to welcome results now and in the future. Compassion and wisdom pay great dividends, as does mindfulness.

Baseball begins, LA (Buddhist Bhutan)

America brings us hegemony I mean baseball.
Hegemony means cultural influence. The USA may have too much of it. Buddhists in Bhutan, the last Himalayan Buddhist kingdom, play baseball in front of the giant Buddha Dordenma statue in the capital Thimphu, and MLB couldn't be happier.

Buddhist Bhutan obsessed with Western sports

The Cup (Bhutanese film)
The Cup
(Tibetan ཕོར་པ། or Phörpa) is a Tibetan-language film written and directed by Khyentse Norbu in his feature directorial debut. It's about two young football-crazed Tibetan refugee novice Buddhist monks who desperately try to get a television for their remote Himalayan Buddhist monastery so they can watch the 1998 FIFA World Cup final. Though not nominated, The Cup was Bhutan's first-ever submission for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.

In the Buddhist mountains of the world's most remote country, baseball takes hold

(MLB) High up in the Himalayas between Tibet and [Buddhist] India sits the small Buddhist country [former kingdom] of Bhutan.

Sometimes known as the world's last Shangri-La, this nation of snowy alpine peaks and untouched mountain streams has fewer than 700,000 people who call it home. Yet, what is perhaps the most remote country in the world is on its way to being a baseballing nation, growing from a few dozen kids playing on a concrete slab after school to more than 6,000 children who are fast becoming baseball fanatics despite few having ever seen a Major League game.

"Everything from the friendship I grew with my father to my brothers to everyone in my town growing up, it was all based around baseball," Matthew DeSantis, the co-founder and chairman of the Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association told me during a recent visit to New York.

Why are American so rich and pretty? Maybe

"From a community perspective in Bhutan, it was a way for me to both be involved stronger, and also to give something back that I thought the kids would love and connect over," Matt went on to say.

Soft-spoken and thoughtful, the American was dressed in a warm brown gho -- a robe cloth that is part of the national dress, the traditional Bhutanese garb, on the day we met.

Though his trip to capitalist New York brought him close to where he grew up in nearby Wilton, Connecticut, one got the feeling that Buddhist Bhutan is where he always belonged.

Paro Taktsang, Tiger's Nest Monastery, Bhutan
Oddly enough, baseball wasn’t how DeSantis first discovered the small Himalayan country, but rather its young leader, Prince Dasho Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, whom he met on the school basketball team while attending Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford.

(Bhutan is now a parliamentary democracy, but the royal family still holds its titles -- similar to the monarchy in England).

After DeSantis’ first three weeks in Bhutan, where he trekked through the dense and pristine southern rainforest and stayed in roadless villages, he decided to move there for good.

Rich Ron married Bhutanese beauty for access
It was while founding the tech company and luxury travel operator MyBhutan, which helped visitors explore the region, that DeSantis met Karma Dorji.

Dorji, now the president of the Bhutan baseball association, "had a strong passion to bring sports to the kids and make it accessible and free."

Shohei Ohtani dating Cal Berkeley's K Dung?
They had no grand design on establishing a baseball association, though: The two simply loved baseball. DeSantis learned the game back in America, while Dorji fell in love while attending the World Children's Baseball Fair in Japan. They wanted to offer it to the children who lived nearby the military barracks in Thimphu. More: mlb.com
