When Slayer was punk crossover thrash

(Fabricio Gabriel The Channel) Rehearsal 1986 | Club Horizon Garage (HD 50 FPS upgrade)
  • The greatest live display in the history of rock music: SLAYER METAL GRAMMYS PERFORMANCE in front of the three remaining Beatles (John, Ringo, and Yoko) and Hollywood celebrities, performing "Angel of Death"
From their humble beginning in an LA garage, no one expected Slayer at the Grammys 2022 😜

Slayer is an American (punk crossover-thrash-, death-, speed-, black-) metal band from Huntington Park, South Central LA, California, formed in 1981 by guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, Cuban drummer Dave Lombardo, and Chilean singer/bassist Tom Araya.
The Slayer formula #thrashmetal #TomAraya - Satanic and evil? Tom explains
Slayer's first ever song to be released "Aggressive Perfector"

Jeff's death by necrotizing fasciitis on arm
Slayer's fast and aggressive musical style made them one of the "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax.

πŸ’€ Since Hanneman's death from a flesh-eating spider bite in 2013, things haven't been the same. ☠️ Araya became a fat backache-complaining stay-at-home dad, King created Slayer 2.0 (the new band "Kerry King"), Lombardo left after getting fed up with never getting paid.

In the original lineup, King, Hanneman, and Araya contributed to the band's lyrics, and all of the band's music was written by King and Hanneman.

The band's graphic lyrics and album art -- which cover religion, occultism, terrorism, serial killers, fascism, racism, and war -- have generated censorship, album bans, delays, lawsuits, and criticism from religious groups.

However, Slayer's music has been highly influential, frequently cited by many bands as an influence musically, visually (tee-shirts are everywhere), and lyrically... More

Bad Bunny's HIDDEN Halftime message

Trump, Lindsay Graham at Super Bowl party watching Bad Bunny', not Kid Rock's TPUSA

The Dhammapada
Why did Bad "Benito" Bunny quote the Buddha at the Grammys and the Super Bowl? It's a good message. In the Dhammapada the Buddha:

"Hatred is never appeased by hatred in the world. By love (non-hatred) alone is hatred appeased. This is a timeless truth." (Dhp 1.5)

It's a way of saying that the ONLY thing more powerful than seething hatred (dosa) is cooling love (metta).
When the Buddha says, "This is a timeless truth," also translated as "eternal law," he is saying that it is nothing new to say so. Everyone knows or has known it; it has been taught before and will be taught again; it is not a truth that belongs to anyone.

Leaders are super friends, but not followers?
Surely, other doctrines and teachers teach and have taught this -- Jesus, Mohammed, Krishna, Medicine Women, tribal chieftains, and others. An atheist sitting in silence might even come to realize it.

Fire isn't really fought with fire, unless one doesn't mind more burning. Water wouldn't get rid of water without leaving extra water around. Sure, "like cures like" in homeopathy (and in Louis Pasture's discovery), but how does it do it?

No, you dummies, not water! "Fight fire with fire!" Drop more flames on top of these flames!
.
Fire! Burn, burn, burn! Burn it all down!
It does it by provoking a powerful opposite response. Firefighters know that we can burn grass off to stop a raging forest fire, thus depriving it of fuel to continue. That seems like fire fighting fire, but it's actually cleverness fighting it. And it is soon extinguished with what, more fire? No, with non-fire. Calming cool replaces raging heat.

In homeopathy, the very thing that is troubling one, like an allergen, can be intensified (by what looks like dilution but is actually rarefication and sublimation) by provoking the body to realize what it is up against and using its natural abilities to counteract it.

Another summary of the show

Q: What's the best way to do away with and be rid of an enemy? Hmmm. Think. A: Make that person a friend. That would end it right there.

Wouldn't it be so great to get along with the Spanish-speaking Americans we invade, colonize, and then discriminate against? Maybe one day Puerto Ricans could be "Americans." (Oh, they are? Well, there you go. Success!)

GOBBLER'S KNOB, Pennsylvania, Feb. 2, 2026 - Punxsutawney Phil had a bad day, somehow seeing his shadow on a cold and cloudy day, in a strange European pagan, heathen, possibly Wiccan animal abuse ritual (which used to culminate in the slaughter and devouring of a groundhog) on Groundhog Day. Fortunately, kinder minds prevailed and the prognosticating rodent is no longer murdered for witchcraft like a biblically suggested scapegoat victim a twin would-be victim is released into the woods to die of mass (collective) sin.

Nude BC Grammys: Chap, Bey, Kendrick

What happened at Grammys in burned LA on Groundhog Day?
.
Attn-W Bianca Censori, uncensored Mrs. West
Is the country very different or all the same? In rural Pennsylvania on the East Coast, all the attention was on Knob Gobblers Gobbler's Knob for a rodent named Phil and its shadow due to strange Germanic pagan traditions about the change of seasons (midway between winter and spring) on Grundsaudaag. The grund sow or "groundhog" Punxsutawney Phil is a beloved kind of beaver, predicting incorrectly 60% of the time, getting up in its hole but being bothered by local yokels eager for misleading prognostication. However, it's an important day because it is the only American holiday that even tries to commemorate a change of seasons, which was once an important thing tying an agrarian society to the land.

Where's Andie MacD(Groundhog Day 2025)
Way on the other side of the land, on the West Coast, eager beavers flaunt it for more fame and riches. Sadly (or schadenfreude), Taylor "Nazi Football Barbie" Swift walked away emptyhanded because The Industry noticed her big album was a big dud of self-indulgent and uber lazy arrangements. Get a legit hit, Swift. Jelly Roll, same deal. Worse, the Grammys tried to right the wrong the Illuminati goddess faced in being ignored by the country music world with her attempt to cash in on country music's moment, Cowboy Carter. That's how Swift started, after all, preening for Nashville country crowds then turning her back on them for Hollywood's limelight and reigning pop idol. If Swift's the princess at odds with the more talented Olivia Rodrigo, who's the queen? Chappell Roan? Lady Gaga? MIA Lana Del Rey? Ms. Slipknot?

Which god, Beh? The fix was in, but I'm so surprised I pulled it off

Not to mention, Teddy Swims shared some huge news, while Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars brought the house down with their performance. And let's not forget the emotional tributes to Quincy Jones and those lost in the past year. Oh, and did we mention the powerful speeches? From red carpet chaos to backstage surprises, we’ve got it covered, breaking down all the surprises, wins, and more.

Buddha, what is the cause of fame and winning, riches and influence?
Karma (deeds, intentional actions of the past coming to fruition in the present) is the great arbitrator, meting out "rewards" and "punishments," which are really just the welcome and unwelcome results of deeds done under the influence of six or seven things: greed (lobha), hatred (dosa), delusion (moha), nongreed (alobha), nonhatred (adosa), nondelusion (amoha), and most often a MIX of these states producing mixed results. The first three are Three Poisons, the next are their positive counterparts better expressed in positive terms. How karma manages to do all of this, resulting in the life we see and the things that happen to us (as resultants and fruits), is explained in detail in the Abhidhamma or "Doctrine Explained in Ultimate Terms," an ancient collection of psychological Buddhist texts. This is a very general answer -- that what we do bears results that we will face soon or after a very long time. (It can't seem fair because we did them in ignorance and we will not be told that our own actions condition what we experience later; moreover, using such words as "good" or "bad" gives a moralizing tone that is not present in the impersonal playing out of these things. The Buddha revealed the significance of karma (sowing good to reap good) centuries before Christianity or Brahmanism/Hinduism exactly so that people could know and do something about it, storing up much good for the future when it is most useful and welcome. "Karma, it's everywhere we're going to be." More specificity as to what acts are skillful and unskillful is found in the "Ten Courses of Wholesome Action," with their counterparts (Ten Courses of Unwholesome Action).

(Access Hollywood) July 16, 2024: The 2024 Home Run Derby might be the most memorable one yet – thanks to singer Ingrid Andress’ viral performance of the National Anthem before the game. On Monday, July 15th, the four-time Grammy-nominated artist sang her rendition of the anthem live at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, which sparked a major stir on social media. “My ears are bleeding. One of the worst national anthem renditions ever,” one user on Twitter (X) wrote, while another said, “I'm so sorry, I'm sure Ingrid Andress is a wonderful person, but that was one of the worst national anthems I think I've ever heard in my whole life.” #AccessHollywood #HomeRunDerby #NationalAnthem

Slipknot loses Grammy to Metallica (live)

I. Rony (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly; Grammys 2024; Stranger Things (Netflix); AI; Slipknot, "Spit It Out" multiple reactions via DamianGDO, 11/17/23

Metallica used to be good right at the beginning, like the first two albums, but after that? C'mon. Slipknot has been great since the first album, staying heavy yet melodic with Corey Taylor's vocal range. The old white men at the Grammys are certainly not breaking any ground to honor Metalica. It would have been a greater honor to give them a lifetime achievement award and let it go at that. Their ship has sailed, and there are lots of better ships on the sea now. Okay, so Stranger Things revived an interest in "Master of Puppets" and the band, but that song came about very early on. It's not representative. Look at all the excitement Slipknot is able to arouse at a show.

"Master of Puppets" is a good song because it's early before selling out

The sky's gone out: Rain drenches LA (update)

We used to have a sun overhead, bearing down on us like a desert. Then came the rains.

California floods: Homes destroyed and drivers stranded in 'apocalyptic' severe weather

(The Sun) Feb. 6, 2024: Horrifying aerial footage showed a stranded motorist being rescued in a flooded area in Los Angeles, California, as the U.S. is hit by "apocalyptic weather." More than 350,000 homes and businesses were without electricity in California on Monday after a storm pounded the state with heavy rainfall and hurricane-force winds, initially knocking out power to more than one million customers, according to electric utilities and PowerOutage.us. The storm is the second so-called Pineapple Express weather system, or "atmospheric river," to hit the most populous U.S. state in the past week.

The sky's gone out
What are the rain gods mad about?
It's always sunny in LA, uh, it's almost always sunny in LA. The sun hasn't been seen for days with chemtrails prepping us for the deluge. We have had 30 hours straight of rain. In place of the sun, cold rain clouds have caused a chill everywhere with flooding in most places, like the hippie haven known as Topanga near Santa Monica. Topanga is a downhill area from the Valley to the Santa Monica Bay of the Pacific Ocean. It's a ravine that has received 11 inches of rain, six years' worth over a few days. Lots of places in the Valley are flooding, as they usually do. The Los Angeles River is raging and barely holding up. The foothills of the San Garbriel Mountain range (Angeles Crest Forest) county woodlands behind the city form a catch basin or headwaters for the LA flood control system. Otherwise, it would all wash across the suburbs and urban areas into the sea of plastic that is the local ocean. This means the mushrooms are in bloom all around, but it will be years before the damage can all be fixed.

California storm: Flooding, mudslides, damage across Los Angeles
(FOX 11 Los Angeles) Feb. 5, 2024: Los Angeles has seen flooding, mudslides, and massive damage caused by the "atmospheric river" storm that's continuing to dump billions of gallons of water on Southern California.
