Ancient Egyptians visited Australia?

The Gosford glyphs (Australian Geographic)
(Wiki) The Gosford Glyphs, also known as Kariong Hieroglyphs, are a group of approximately 300 Egyptian-style hieroglyphs located in Kariong, Brisbane, Australia. They are found in an area known for its Aboriginal petroglyphs, between Gosford and Woy Woy, New South Wales, within the Brisbane Water National Park. Academics and authorities have tried to dismiss them as a hoax after their discovery in the 1970s, but there is no proof other than disbelief. These authorities are still attempting to prove the false belief that they were carved by ancient Egyptians about 4,500 years ago [1]. So far they have been unable to do so. But to think the ancient Egyptians made it not only to the Grand Canyon in the Southwest USA. More

I'm not autistic, the world is! (video)

Neurodivergent Doctor, 3/8/22, 9/14/21; Sheldon S.CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

"Autism Imposter Syndrome" - The smartest have it, and how to stop it
(Neurodivergent Doctor) Why do the smartest people get imposter syndrome? What is "transient sensory sensitivity"? Was there really room for Leo on Rose's floating door over the Atlantic from the film Titanic? These and other topics are discussed as well as what to do about imposter syndrome.

Autism: The new view. The world is disordered
(Neurodivergent Doctor) VANCOUVER Hello, Neurodivergent Nation! It's always been about the bad, the way "autistic" people have a hard time in life. Is that the truth, or have we been looking at it all wrong?

Yes, many autistic people have a very difficult time. And it has caused trauma and so much heartache for them and often their families, too. But let's take a closer look at why there is so much difficulty.

Let's look more closely at the disordered world autistic people are forced to live in. Like so many other people who are differently abled on this planet, it is not set up to accommodate, accept, or even acknowledge differences.
  • [EDITORIAL NOTE: It may be taken as making autism look like a positive label. Or it may point the finger at us, saying that although autism is certainly bad and not something we would want to have, the world we live in sucks -- and we have ceased to notice. But autistic children and young adults do notice and say so; therefore, we don't like them and blame them and their illness or try, because of cognitive dissonance and guilt at living in a toxic polluted environment that surely cannot be helping, to put all the blame on sensitive individuals harmed by the toxicity far more than the rest of us.]

COMMENTS
(from previous upload on Imposter Syndrome that was deleted it replaced with this better version)

(buttercxp draws) This video was fantastic. I was late diagnosed 2 years ago after a mental breakdown. I’ve felt imposter syndrome several times whilst coming to terms with my diagnosis. Your words really hit home with me. Much appreciated πŸ’•

(Judi Marr) Thank you for this. I’ll probably still keep taking all the tests every couple of weeks until my neuropsych testing in June just to make sure, but it’s good to know why I feel this way and I’m not alone.

(Wynne Whitten-Holmes) Oh, this was such a balm to my autistic soul. Thank you. I'm saving it for later. ✨

(buttercxp draws) Great job with the script and editing on this one. Made me laugh and made me cry. I’ll be watching this again next time I think I’m an imposter ✌️πŸ’•

(rahxrahster) This is the one! I have an upcoming assessment and this video was so helpful. Thank you!

(Loowe) Thank u so much. Can I ask u to talk about the PDA Type of autism? It really gives me more imposter Syndrome since my experience is in some way very different than other more high-regulating autistic people. Thank u for ur work so much!!! 🌸🌸🌸

(skiz) The best defense against impostor syndrome is paying the electricity bill to keep your rare model train collection running on time throughout your house.

Science: inside the meditating brain (video)

Superhumans: The remarkable brain waves of high-level meditators | Big Think
Meditation science: American Neuroscientist Richard J. Davidson (richardjdavidson.com)
.
(Big Think) People [such as Buddhist monastics] who have meditated for thousands of hours exhibit a remarkable difference in their brainwaves.

Psychologist Dr. Daniel Goleman says we can actually see what happens in the heads of those who have achieved "enlightenment," and the results are unprecedented in science.

Author Daniel Goleman (danielgoleman.info)
ABOUT
Dr. Daniel Goleman (info) is an Amherst and Harvard-educated psychologist, lecturer, and science journalist. He has reported on the brain and behavioral sciences for The New York Times for many years. His 1995 book, Emotional Intelligence (Bantam Books) was on The New York Times bestseller list for a year and a half. Dr. Goleman is also the author of Ecological Intelligence: How Knowing the Hidden Impacts of What We Buy Can Change Everything. The book argues that new information technologies will create “radical transparency,” allowing us to know the environmental, health, and social consequences of what we buy. As shoppers use point-of-purchase ecological comparisons to guide their purchases, market share will shift to support steady, incremental upgrades in how products are made -- changing everything for the better. His latest book is Altered Traits: Science Reveals How Meditation Changes Your Mind, Brain, and Body, which he co-authored with Dr. Richard Davidson, reveals the science of what meditation can really do for us, as well as exactly how to get the most out of it.

.
TRANSCRIPT
Edited for clarity by Wisdom Quarterly, 9/16/23
Dr. Richard Davidson, U of Wisconsin
DANIEL GOLEMAN: My co-author of the book Altered Traits is neuroscientist Richard Davidson, whose lab is at the University of Wisconsin.

It’s a very large lab with dedicated scanners. He has about 100 people working there, and he was able to do some remarkable research where he flew Olympic-level meditators, who live in Nepal or India [e.g., Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche] typically, some in France [e.g., Matthieu Ricard].

He flew them over to the lab and put them through a protocol in his brain scanners and did state-of-the-art tests. And the results were just astounding. We found, for example, or he found that their brain waves are really different.
Perhaps the most remarkable findings in the Olympic-level meditators has to do with what’s called a gamma [brain] wave.

All of us get gamma for a very short period when we solve a problem we’ve been grappling with, even if it’s something that’s vexed us for months. We get about a half-second of gamma; it’s the strongest wave on the EEG [electro encephalograph] spectrum.

We get it when we bite into an apple or imagine biting into an apple, and for a brief period, a split-second, inputs from taste, sound, smell, vision, all of that come together in that imagined bite into the apple. But that lasts very short period in an ordinary EEG.

What was stunning was that the Olympic-level meditators, these are people who have done up to 62,000 lifetime hours of meditation, their brainwave shows gamma very strong all the time as a lasting trait just no matter what they’re doing.

It’s not a state effect. It’s not during their meditation alone. But it’s just their everyday state of mind. We actually have no idea what that means experientially.

Science has never seen it before. We also find that in these Olympic-level meditators when we asked them, for example, to do a meditation on compassion, their level of gamma jumps 700 to 800 percent in a few seconds. This has also never been seen by science.

So we have to assume that the special state of consciousness that you see in the highest-level meditators is a lot like something described in the classical meditation literatures centuries ago, which is that there is a state of being which is not like our ordinary state.

Sometimes it’s called liberation, enlightenment, awake, whatever the word may be. We suspect there’s really no vocabulary that captures what that might be.

The people that we’ve talked to in this Olympic-level group say it’s very spacious, and you’re wide open, you’re prepared for whatever may come. We just don’t know.

But we do know it’s quite remarkable. More

Dr. Joe Dispenza: DMT, pineal, breath (3/5)

Dr. Dispenza via Motivation Manifested; Pat Macpherson, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
Practice this breathing in group meditation, March 5, 2020. FREE: DBM, Los Angeles

Information + Application = Transformation. Learning is the first step, practice the second until we drop what is ready to be let go of and gain what is waiting.

DMT, Pineal Gland, and the Piezoelectric Effect
I can see colors and feel bliss.
Dr. Joe Dispenza provides a detailed explanation on how to contract the muscles of the body together with breathing in order to accelerate the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, apply gentle pressure to the pineal gland ("third eye" or Buddhist dibba cakkhu) at the center of the brain, and create very profound metabolites including benzodiazepine and DMT (the "spirit molecule," di-methyl-tryptamine). Surfing the Flood (sutra)

Dhr. Seven, Pat Macpherson (eds.) based on Ven. Thanissaro (trans.), SN 1.1, Ogha-Tarana Sutra: "Crossing Over the Flood," Wisdom Quarterly; Surfing for Beginners

Best places to surf in Ireland (Surfer Today)
A wave is coming, a great wave. A flood is coming, another one. We are inundated. All around is this flood. There are four "floods" or ogha, the four corruptions, cankers, taints, intoxicating biases.

NOTE: This sutra opens The Connected Discourses (Samyutta Nikaya, "Kindred Sayings") with a paradox. The Commentary informs us that the Buddha teaches this deva* using a paradox to subdue her pride.
  • *"Shining one," radiant light being, woodland fairy, or glowing space visitor.
To put this paradox in context, read other passages from the Pali canon that discuss right effort.

SUTRA
Thus have I heard. On one occasion the Blessed One (the Buddha) was staying near Savatthi in Jeta's Grove in the multi-millionaire's monastery.

Then a certain devi, when the night was far gone, her radiance lighting up the entire Jeta's Grove, went to the Blessed One.

When she arrived, she bowed, stood respectfully to one side, and said: "Tell me, dear sir, how you crossed over the flood."

[The Buddha replied:] "I crossed over the flood by neither pushing forward nor staying in place"* [in the way one rides a wave when surfing.]
  • *Or "unestablished." See Udana 8.1 and related references at SN 12.38 and SN 12.64.
"But how, dear sir, did you cross over the flood without pushing forward and not staying in place?"

"If I were to push forward, I whirled about. If I were to stay in place, I sank. So I crossed over the flood by neither pushing forward nor staying in place."

[The devi replied:]

At long last I behold
a Brahmin, fully awakened,
who without pushing forward,
without staying in place,
has crossed over
the entanglements
of the world.

That is what the deva said. The Teacher approved. Realizing "the Teacher has approved of me," she bowed, circumambulated him — respectfully keeping him on the right — then vanished right then and there.

The Pattern app: "1984" or "BNW"? (video)

Seth Auberon, Pfc. Sandoval, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly; IQsquared, 2/12/18
Which world do we live in, the Orwellian 1984 or Huxley's happy face world? (FT)
Actor and former Hollywood heartthrob Channing Tatum freaks out over the downloadable Pattern app listening to him in therapy (because he was carrying his own microphone spying device called a cell phone) brought to us by Hot Videos, July 13, 2019. The free "astrology" app works by getting you to identify yourself with your birthdate and time without realizing your are identifying yourself in concordance with government records on you. It then listens in on you by your personal spying device (iPhone or Android), which you pay for and carry around because you are a good little citizen soldier spying on all your friends and acquaintances and being spied on by them for other government and private entities, like you do when you give away your data and talk to Alexa.
(AngelWalks, July 13, 2019) Is the Pattern app spying on us? Idiot tries the app in front of viewers after a moronic cold reading which he identifies with, as most of us would. After declaring, "That's facts, man!" AngelWalks concludes, "after using it [The Pattern app], it seemed like a generic astrology app."

Brave New World versus Nineteen Eighty-Four
Good little children marvel and the unquestioned power of Big Brother (alamy.com)
Debate begins at Minute 7:15

(IQsquared) Dystopian books and films are in the zeitgeist. Reflecting the often dark mood of our times, Intelligence Squared stages a contest between two of the greatest dystopian novels of our time, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World and George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Each book captured the nightmares of the 1930s and 40s. But which vision looks more like the 21st century? Are we living in Orwell’s sinister surveillance state? Or in Aldous Huxley’s vapid consumerist culture? To battle it out two celebrated writers, Adam Gopnik and Will Self, take the stage.

After Pres. Trump was elected, it seemed as if 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' had clinched it. The book shot to the top of the bestseller charts. It felt ominously familiar. In Orwell’s dystopia, the corporate state controls the news, insisting that ‘whatever the Party holds to be truth is truth.’ That sounds very much like Trump’s "alternative facts," and the war Trump is waging on the "fake news" media.

Orwell imagined two-way SCREENS spying on every citizen. Today we have iPhones and Amazon’s "always listening" Alexa device, while Google, Facebook, and other security agency-controlled companies hoover up our personal data and sell it to the government and each other for their own ends.

Orwell's book also describes an "Inner Party" -- two percent of the population -- enjoying all of the privileges and control of the society.

That is like the "one percent" railed against by the infiltrated, co-opted, and disemboweled Occupy Movement.

The 1% are reviled for their wealth and influence by anti-fascists and anti-capitalists today. No wonder everyone rushed out to read the book anew.

But Orwell’s critics say Nineteen Eighty-Four is a dated dystopia, a vision that died along with the hope and threat of communism.

The novel that better resonates with our present, they say, is Brave New World. Here Aldous Huxley imagined a plastic techno-society where sex is casual, entertainment light, and consumerism rampant.

There are pills to make people happy, virtual reality shows to distract the masses from actual reality, and hook-ups to take the place of love and commitment.

That all hits a bit too close to home. Huxley's book speaks of a caste system created by genetic engineering, from alpha and beta types right down to a slave underclass.

We may not have publicly announced having gone down that road, but gene-editing (CRISPR) may already be enabling Silicon Valley’s super-rich to extend their lifespans and enhance the looks and intelligence of their children. Will we soon witness the birth of a new genetic super-class?

Both novels warn of extraordinary futures, but which better captures our present and offers the keener warning about where we may be heading?

Easy Meditation (with headphones)

(NikThinks) This binaural video was made for exploring relaxed mental states naturally. Delta wave layers are blended with Native American flute to journey via cosmic frequencies. Vibrational patterns can induce a slow, deep sleep-like state of unbounded bliss. Subliminal influence occurs whenever stimuli are presented below the threshold of awareness. This has an effect on thoughts, feelings, and actions. Listening with headphones, it is possible to feel transported to stone age hills or as if one is floating in a distant dream world.
