Yin Yang is much deeper than thought | I Ching, Yin-Yang, trigrams, Chinese philosophy
(Queen Mandarin) Readers have probably seen these symbols in Chinese restaurants, kung fu movies, the Korean flag...
But most people have no idea what they actually mean.
Today, let’s talk about the I Ching, not as magic, not as fortunetelling, but as one of humanity’s oldest attempts to understand change.
Whether learning Chinese for the first time or simply curious about the hidden stories in characters, this video will make viewers see Chinese in a whole new way.

One of the most common of nutritional MYTHS is that breakfast is "the most important meal of the day" trope, which was popularized by the Seventh Day Adventist John Harvey Kellogg to promote sales of his cash cow cr*p "Corn Flakes Cereal."
Fifty years later Edward Bernays, "the father of public relations" (PR, commercial for-profit propaganda) and one of the pioneers of modern-day advertising, convinced Americans that eating a high calorie, high protein meal first thing in the morning was part of some kind of healthy lifestyle.
The fact is that it is not. Facts about breakfast are a bit different. First of all, our paleolithic ancestors, whose bodies and biochemical needs were much like ours, didn't start off the morning with a big meal.
More likely they went without or perhaps began the day with some seeds or maybe plant material of some kind. Second, eating draws blood and nutritional resources away from the brain and the muscles towards the digestive tract, leading to drowsiness and feeling a need for a nap. This is not a plus for productivity.
Perhaps most importantly, between our last meal of the previous day and our next on the following day, the body is gradually becoming ketogenic, which means weight loss, more energy, and improvements in inflammation markers (less inflammation).
If one must eat breakfast, avoid cereal (which is full of toxic acrylamides, sugar, preservatives, coloring and synthetic flavoring agents and, worst of all, plant lectins like gluten, gliadin, fagopyrins in the case of wheat, oat, buckwheat, rye, and barley), sweets, and processed foods.
Stick to protein and good fats: avocados, raw soaked nuts, and green leaves. Enjoyed with lots of salt and natural spices, all are great foods to start off the day, [the later the better. Drink 16 to 20 ounces of water first thing in the morning, as this will help complete the overnight cleansing process, a natural cycle that completes around 11:00 am.] More
Yuck. Time to check out. This is no time to be mindful. Where's my cell phone?
Sati-sampajanna is "mindfulness and clear comprehension" or uncluttered awareness as one goes about one's business in life. If one is sitting and wishes to get up to go over there, one does so mindfully and clearly aware of what one is doing.
This applies, not surprisingly, to ALL that one is doing. And if one eats mindfully, one should also excrete mindfully. Even without eating, excreting will happen. It's the red blood cells sloughing off, and there's water to evacuate, too. This may sound repulsive.
Is it not better to pop in an air freshener, wear headphones, take one's mobile phone in while trying not to drop it in the toilet? Surely it's better to just refrain from flushing until the call is over, anything to stay distracted when answering the calls of nature?
My favorite chair, The Stone Throne
Mindfulness can lead to insight more readily when giving mindful (nonreactive observation) attention to an unattractive (asubha, loathsome, foul) thing rather than a pleasant one. One is pulled in by the pleasant and pulled out by the unpleasant.
What would more readily lead to insight about the true nature of this human body, staring at an alluring beauty or a bloated corpse that's oozing? Exactly! And we love ourselves and see ourselves in this body, of this body, as possessed of a body, owners of a body -- and such conceit is hard to break.
But if we pay attention in the restroom, all will be well: We will be able to let go of pride, egoism, conceit, lust, clinging, and coveting not only for ourselves but for other distractions that walk around in tight yoga pants.
We will finally be able to overcome the allures Cupid and Mother Nature built into the system to keep us bound up in the Sensual Sphere (kama-loka) and the unending Cycle of Wandering (samsara). See Part #2.
This binaural beat recording is for "sleep meditation" to effortlessly cleaning the heart chakra (nexus of subtle energy) for a positive energy boost. It uses binaural beats and the sacred 639 hertz Solfeggio frequency as well as relaxing music as therapeutic modalities.
639 Hz Solfeggio Frequency
This frequency enables the creation of harmonious community- and interpersonal-relationships. This frequency can be used for dealing with relationship problems -- between family members, partners, friends, or problematic social relations. When talking about cellular processes, 639 Hz can be used to encourage the cells to communicate with their environment. This ancient Solfeggio frequency enhances communication, understanding, tolerance, and love. This frequency can also be used for communication with parallel worlds and spiritual spheres.
Binaural beats
Binaural beats or tones are auditory processing artifacts, or "apparent sounds," caused by the simultaneous playing of two (bi) different tones (aural or auditory stimuli), one in each ear. The brain sums and splits them to make another tone not within the range of normal human hearing.
This effect earned greater public awareness in the late 20th century based on claims coming from the alternative-medicine community that binaural beats could help induce relaxation, profound states of meditation, creativity, and other desirable mental states. Their effect on brainwaves depends on the difference in frequencies of tone in each ear.
(This particular video uses frequencies within the delta and theta range which induce deep meditation, relaxation, nREM sleep, deep dreamless sleep, and loss of bodily awareness).
The brain produces a phenomenon resulting in low-frequency pulsations in the amplitude and sound localization of a perceived sound when two tones at slightly different frequencies are presented separately, one to each ear, using stereo headphones. A beating tone is perceived by the brain, as if the two tones mixed naturally to become something different than either sound.
Binaural beats reportedly influence the brain in more subtle ways through the entrainment of brainwaves thaat provide other health benefits such as control over pain perception or reactivity.

Experiencing a good night of sleep does not overcome the poor functioning and thinking problems imposed by long-term sleep deprivation, a new study finds. Previous studies have linked sleep deprivation with various health conditions including high blood pressure. According to the study published in Science Translational Medicine, a good night of sleep can improve the short-term function, having no significant influence on the long-term performance of sleep deprived individuals. "Chronic sleep loss from six hours of sleep per night for two weeks causes a similar level of impairment as staying awake for 24 hours," said lead researcher Daniel Cohen. More>>
