Skull: Native face of 'Kennewick Man'

.
Meet the Kennewick Man: Face of "most important" ancient Native American revealed after 8,500 years
Strong and resilient ancestor of current residents
The face of one of the most significant skeletons ever unearthed in North America has been reconstructed for the first time -- more than 8,000 years after the man's death.

The individual, known as the Kennewick Man, was approximately 40 years old when he died during the early Holocene period, which started roughly 11,700 years ago following the conclusion of the last major ice age.

Columbia River, Washington, USA
His remains were discovered along the banks of the Columbia River in 1996, close to Kennewick City in Washington state, from which he derived his name.
Map: Where is the Columbia River?
The find represented one of the most intact specimens from this era and offers proof of Native American habitation in the region for more than 8,000 years. The skeleton has been pivotal in academic discussions surrounding the earliest inhabitants of the North American continent.

Scientists have now created a reconstruction of his living facial features using his skull, providing insight into the man's history, reports the Express US.

Chief Joseph, Nez Perce People
Lead researcher Cicero Moraes described the reconstruction as depicting a "strong and resilient man," whose characteristics reflected "a life marked by continuous physical effort and survival."

He continued: "First, the skull is analyzed using known averages of soft-tissue thickness and anatomical guidelines to position key features such as the eyes, nose, lips, and ears. More

(BorisT.) Metalhead Jonathan Gerlach, 34, from Ephrata, Pennsylvania, arrested for stealing more than 100 human remains in repeated burglaries from a historical graveyard named Mount Moriah Cemetery in Yeadon Borough and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Yuck! Did he also listen to pop or rap or ska?
Metal leads to madness and disinterring corpses? It might for some given the lyrics of such bands as Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Exhumed, Avenged Sevenfold, Septic Flesh, and even old-time punk rockers T.S.O.L. It may start as a joke -- or hardcore fandom/fanaticism about horror movies -- but who knows who might take it literally or as a suggestion?

Gerlach, as passionate as a ghoul about death
WIKI: In January 2026, Jonathan Gerlach of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged with burglary, abuse of a corpse, and the desecration and theft of venerated objects stolen from Mount Moriah Cemetery. Authorities had been investigating vandalism and theft of 26 mausoleums and underground vaults from the cemetery that began in fall 2025. Gerlach was caught leaving the cemetery at night with a sack containing the mummified remains of two children, three skulls, and various loose bones. An investigation of his house in Ephrata revealed over 100 pieces of human bones stolen from the cemetery (Source: Man stole hundreds of skulls and bones from Mount Moriah Cemetery, authorities say).

Death Sutra; 'The Seventh Seal' (film)

The Seventh Seal (Swedish Det sjunde inseglet) is a 1957 Swedish historical fantasy film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman.

Set in Sweden [3, 4] during the Black Death, it tells of the journey of a medieval knight (Max von Sydow) and a game of chess he plays with [Marathe personification of Death (Bengt Ekerot), who has come to take his life.
The Seventh Seal, 1957
Bergman developed the film from his own play Wood Painting. The title refers to a passage from the Bible's Book of Revelation, used both at the very start of the film and again towards the end, beginning with the words "And when the Lamb had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour" [5].

Here, the motif of silence refers to the "silence of God," which is a major theme of the film [6, 7]. The Seventh Seal is considered a classic in the history of cinema, as well as one of the greatest films of all time.

It established Bergman as a director, containing scenes which have become iconic through homages, critical analyses, and parodies. More

Death comes rolling at us. Are we ready?
The Simile of the Mountain, Pabbatūpama Sutta (SN 3.2)

Thus have I heard. At one time the Buddha was staying in Sāvatthī.

King Pasenadi of Kosala came and respectfully sat to one side. The Buddha said to him, “Great King, where are you coming from in the middle of the day?”

“Venerable sir, there are anointed warrior caste kings who are infatuated with authority and obsessed with craving for sensual delights. They have attained stability in the country, conquering and occupying a vast territory. Today I have been busy fulfilling the duties of such a king.”

“What do you think, Great King? Suppose a trustworthy and dependable man were to come from the east. He would approach and say, ‘Please, Great King, know this: I come from the east. There I saw a huge mountain that reached the clouds. And it was coming this way, crushing all creatures in its path. Therefore, Great King, do as you see fit!’
  • This extraordinary threat looms also in an Upanishadic passage: “Even if both the mountain ranges, the southern and the northern, were to rush at him determined to level him, they would not succeed in leveling him” (Kauṣītaki Upanishad 2.13, translation by Olivelle).
“Then suppose another trustworthy and dependable man were to come from the west… a third from the north… and a fourth from the south, approaching to say, ‘Great King, know this. I come from [that direction]. There I saw a huge mountain that reached the clouds. And it was coming this way, crushing all creatures in its path. Therefore, Great King, do as you see fit!’

“Should such a dire threat arise—with so grim a loss of human life when human rebirth is so preciously rare—what would you do?”

“Venerable sir, what could I do but practice the Dhamma (Buddha's Teachings), practice morality, doing skillful and profitable kamma (deeds, actions)?”

“I say, Great King, I announce: Old age and death are advancing upon you. Since old age and death are advancing upon you, what shall you do?”

“Venerable sir, what can I do but practice the Dhamma, practice morality, doing skillful and profitable kamma?

“Venerable sir, there are anointed warrior kings who are infatuated with authority and obsessed with craving for sensual delights. They have attained stability in the country, conquering and occupying a vast territory. Such kings engage in battles with elephants, cavalries, chariots, or infantries. But there is no place, no domain for such battles when old age and death are advancing.

“In this royal court there are ministers of wise counsel who are capable of dividing an approaching enemy by wise counsel. But there is no place, no domain for such diplomatic battles when old age and death are advancing.

“In this royal court there is abundant gold, both minted and unminted, stored above and below ground. Using this wealth we can bribe an approaching enemy.
  • Bhūmigata is explained as “underground” at Bu Pj 2:4.2.1 (there bhūmaṭṭha). | Vehāsaṭṭha is explained as “above ground” at Bu Pj 2:4.5.1. | Upalāpetuṁ (“bribe”) is a means by which Vassakāra suggests the Vajjis can be overcome (DN 16:1.5.8, AN 7.22:12.3).
“But there is no place, no domain for such monetary battles when old age and death are advancing.

“When old age and death are advancing, what can I do but practice the Teachings, practice morality, doing skillful and profitable deeds?”

“That is true, Great King, so true! When old age and death are advancing, what can one do but practice Dhamma, practice morality, doing skillful and profitable karma?”

That is what the Buddha said. Then the Awakened One, the Teacher, summarized in verse:

“Suppose there were vast mountains
of solid rock pressed against the sky
drawing in from all sides
crushing the four quarters.

So, too, old age and death
advance upon all living beings—
warriors, priests, peasants,
menials, corpse-workers, and scavengers.
They spare no one.
They crush all under them.

There is nowhere for an elephant to take a stand,
neither chariot nor infantry.
Mountains cannot be defeated
by diplomatic battles or wealth.

That is why an astute person,
seeing what is good for oneself,
being wise, would place confidence (faith)
in the Awakened One, the Dhamma, and the Saṅgha.

Whoever lives by the Teaching
[skillful in actions of] body, speech, and mind,
is praised in this life
and departs to rejoice in heaven(s).”

Hollywood's Halloween vs. Irish Samhain

University of Edinburgh, Oct. 31, 2016
Samhain
(SOW-in) or Sauin is a Gaelic festival in Ireland that falls on the Mexican Day of the Dead, Nov. 1st, marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year [1].

It is also the Irish and Scottish Gaelic name for November. Celebrations begin on Halloween, the evening of October 31st, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset [1].

The seasons and festivals of Ireland
This is about halfway between the autumnal equinox and winter solstice. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals along with Imbolc, Bealtaine, and Lughnasa.

Historically it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. Its Brittonic Celtic equivalent is Calan Gaeaf in Wales. More

Hidden underworld below plateau, Egypt

New chamber discovered in the Great Pyramid could finally answer ancient questions

Are there cities below?
The Great Pyramid of Giza has fascinated people for thousands of years. It has always been standing as a mysterious symbol of ancient Egypt’s ingenuity.

Despite centuries of study, many secrets remain hidden within its massive and beautifully crafted stone walls.

Recently, scientists made an exciting breakthrough: they discovered a previously unknown chamber deep inside the pyramid.

This hidden space could provide crucial information about how the pyramid was built and what purpose it served.

Using advanced technology, researchers are now closer than ever to unlocking some of the Great Pyramid’s most enduring mysteries, sparking worldwide curiosity and excitement.
A hidden room revealed
Impossible alien technology
The discovery of a secret chamber inside the Great Pyramid is like finding a hidden treasure in plain sight.

By using state-of-the-art scanning methods, scientists detected a large, sealed space that had never been explored before. This chamber is not connected to any of the known corridors or rooms, making it a genuine surprise.

Mehdi Tayoubi, co-founder of the ScanPyramids project, described the finding as “a premier,” adding, “It could be composed of one or several structures...maybe it could be another Grand Gallery. It could be a chamber; it could be a lot of things.”

Even after thousands of years and centuries of study, the pyramid still holds secrets waiting to be uncovered.  More

First modern Brits were 'dark to black'

Still, we wasn't as dark as the swarthy Irish, Mate. Thems is black. We be the fair ones.
.
DNA analysis of Britain's 10,000-year-old complete skeleton reveals first modern Britons dad 'dark to black' skin
ETs must hybridized us something wicked.
In findings that knocked the wind out of long-held assumptions about early British inhabitants, DNA analysis of Britain's oldest complete skeleton proved the first modern Britons who lived about 10,000 years ago had "dark to black" skin, according to the BBC.

The ancient skeleton, known as Cheddar Man, was discovered in 1903 in Somerset's Gough's Cave and gave scientists a glimpse into Britain's prehistoric past.

Researchers from the Natural History Museum and University College London extracted DNA by drilling a tiny 2 mm hole in the ancient skull.

"It really shows up that these imaginary racial categories that we have are really very modern constructions, or very recent constructions, that really are not applicable to the past at all," said Tom Booth, an archaeologist at the Natural History Museum, who worked on the project, according to The Guardian.

We Brits were right savages then, unlike now.
The analysis painted this ancient Briton in vivid detail: a hunter-gatherer with blue eyes, dark curly hair [just like the historical Buddha, who was Central Asian and had curly black hair, Eurasian blue eyes, and golden skin], and a complexion that was "dark to black" [though the Buddha had a fair complexion, records show].

This combination of features — though startling to the modern observer — was common in Western Europe during this period.

Cheddar Man's ancestors had migrated out of Africa via the Middle East, eventually crossing Doggerland, the ancient land bridge connecting Britain to continental Europe, stated the BBC. Open the YouTube video

Prof. Chris Stringer, who studied the Cheddar Man skeleton for four decades, was astonished with the reconstruction:

"To come face-to-face with what this guy could have looked like -- and that striking combination of the hair, the face, the eye color, and that dark skin: something a few years ago we couldn't have imagined and yet that's what the scientific data show," he said, according to the BBC.

These findings represent a surprise to many because genes that confer light skin only began to spread through European populations much later than scientists assumed.

Pale skin, scientists now propose, evolved in farming populations of Europe about 6,000 years ago, possibly as an adaptation to help the skin synthesize Vitamin D from the sun more efficiently. More
