The discovery of "whole host of ancient hidden cities underground" by Australian archeologist Damian Evans, according to the BBC (bbc.in/21heUQb, June 12, 2016), hits the Sunday news but is eclipsed by news from Orlando.
(WQ) LiDAR is a form of penetrating radar that can see through the jungle thicket to ancient structures underneath. Wooden artifacts have been under our feet for centuries, even as spiritual tourists have been flocking to the central Buddhist and Hindu temple of Angkor Wat, of the Khmer Empire. But Angkor was once a city of 1,000,000 -- the largest in the ancient world -- due to its mastery of water and an ingenious system through the jungle. The gateway to Angkor is Siem Reap, Cambodia.
