Mexican Buddhist Cholos of Thailand

WARNING: Graphic use of recreational cannabis (ganja, weed, pot, dope, marijuana, Maryjane, etc.)
Oh, is this why Cypress Hill likes "Fat Happy Buddha" (actually not the Buddha but Budai) so much?
Meet Thailand's 'Chicano' Buddhist community
(AFP News Agency) AFP (Agence France-Presse) is funded in whole or in part by the French government. [Did some Thai people just get back from Tokyo, Japan, or Los Angeles, California?]

Dressed in baggy t-shirts and jeans, with bandanas and wraparound sunglasses only partially obscuring their intricate tattoos, Thai Buddhists can now be seen gangbanging on Bangkok's sweaty gangland streets, celebrating a fusion of their own Buddhist and Mexican American (Chicano) culture each weekend.

But while the Chicano Movement in the US began as a political and social force aimed at battling oppression, its Thai interpretation is focused more on its aesthetics and cool style.

Fountain of youth: Epithalon plus copper

One day, we'll all be the same age: old.
In the ever-evolving landscape of anti-aging research, this breakthrough peptide takes center stage for those intrigued by the promise of longevity and the potential to decelerate the aging process.

Also referred to as Epithalon and Epithalamin, this synthetic peptide has sparked a wave of scientific interest due to its unique properties and the profound implications it holds for health and lifespan extension.

Originating as a synthetic version of Epithalamin, a polypeptide naturally produced in the pineal gland, this peptide has become a focal point in the quest to understand and influence the mechanisms of aging.
The Mechanism Behind Epitalon

Sensitive intuitive clumsy biker Lisa G (KPFK)
The intrigue surrounding this peptide lies in its mechanism of action, particularly its influence on telomerase activity. Telomerase is an enzyme that plays a critical role in maintaining telomere length.

Telomeres, which are protective caps located at the end of chromosomes, gradually shorten with each cell division, a process intrinsically linked to cellular aging.

By stimulating telomerase activity, this peptide, also known as Epithalon, contributes to the preservation of telomere length, thereby offering a potential avenue to slow down the aging process and extend the lifespan of cells. More

ABOUT THE SHOW
Guest Host Lisa Garr (The Aware Show)
Regenerative therapy and peptide consultant Regan Archibald joins Lisa Garr to discuss his unique approach fusing the best of Eastern and Western medicine to create lasting health changes and youthfulness.

Elaborating on the role of peptides (chains of amino acids) in the body, he likened them to "short-term communication proteins" and emphasized their [epigenetic] potential to combat diseases and optimize health.

"We've only scratched the surface," Archibald said, as there are peptides for a variety of applications including endurance, energy, mental clarity, muscle building, and weight loss.

He also notes the importance of understanding how external factors like stress and chemical exposure (to things like Monsanto Corporation's herbicide Roundup, glyphosate, now owned by Big Pharma company Bayer, Inc.) lead to conditions like insulin resistance.

This can contribute to a cycle of cravings and weight gain. He believes that with proper awareness and treatment, such as the use of peptides, society could significantly reduce obesity rates (without Ozempic-style drugs) and improve overall health.

Some peptides can activate genes, and specific ones he advocates for, like thymosin alpha 1, actually enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy and boost immune response, Archibald suggests.

Some peptides can function as a "fountain of youth," he continues, highlighting their ability to reverse age-related decline.

Peptides simplify communication within cells, ensuring the right genes stay turned on, he remarks, explaining how, as we age, our bodies produce fewer hormones and peptides, leading to cellular dysfunction. He praised Epitalon, a peptide that lengthens telomeres, stating it can increase cellular replication and extend lifespan.

The discussion also touches on the inadequacies of conventional blood tests, which often miss underlying health issues. Archibald points out that doctors typically run 20-24 markers, but we "run labs that are around 104 different markers" to uncover root causes.

Italian herbal witchcraft (folk Catholicism)

Yes, I can drive stick.
Building on the in-depth folk wisdom Lisa Fazio (therootcircle.com) learned from her immigrant grandparents and local healers in Southern Italy, the second-generation Italian American and experienced herbalist shares herbal traditions and witchcraft practices from the Italian diaspora. She details some of the unique aspects of "Italian witchcraft," which she characterized as "folk Catholicism," a blend of ancient practices and Catholic imprints. Speaking of rituals, particularly those for protection, she outlines how apotropaic magic can be used to ward off evil. Fazio introduces the concept of malocchio, or "the evil eye," explaining that gestures such as the sign of the cross or the horn hand symbol [hang ten, devil's horns, heavy metal mudra] can be used to fend off negative energies. "When you do something that is... a prompt to bring you into your center...you become less susceptible to outside influences," she comments.

European makings of The Craft
Fazio mentions a variety of herbal remedies for different health conditions. Mullein tea can be beneficial for respiratory issues prevalent during cold seasons and is especially effective for dry coughs and mucus expulsion, she says, adding that marshmallow root can soothe respiratory infections and inflammation. On the subject of energy clearing, she delves into the concept of fumigazione, or "fumigation," in Italian folk method. She reveals that various herbs, particularly artemisia (wormwood), may be used for this purpose, as well as different types of sage. Plants offer a dual role in clearing both physical and energetic spaces. Further exploring the spiritual aspect of herbalism, she explains how certain flower essences and plants like garlic, yarrow, rue, and rosemary can protect and bless spaces. They may be used in spray form or burned as incense in smudging.

(Inside Edition) March 21, 2023. Hollywood actor and infamous "conscious uncoupling" divorcee from the singer of Coldplay Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in court with security by her side for a ski collision [she caused] at a resort.

She is facing Dr. Terry Sanderson, a 76-year-old retired optometrist, who claims she plowed into him on a ski slope, leaving him with four broken ribs and permanent brain damage (PBI).

[He was suing for $3.1 million but was forced by the judge to lower that amount to $300,000 as the limit in this case.] The collision happened in February 2016 on a beginner's ski trail at a ritzy resort in Park City, Utah.

During opening statements, Ms. Paltrow's lawyer says Dr. Sanderson was the one who crashed into her. [Gwynnie is countersuing Dr. Sanderson for $1, yes, one US dollar, oh, plus all legal fees.]

Blacking Up: Hip-Hop’s Remix of Race (video)

Hezakya Newz; Seth Auberon, Crystal Quintero, Pat Macpherson (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Blacking Up: Hip-Hop's Remix of Race and Identity
Hip-hop was created by urban youth of color more than 30 years ago amid U.S. racial oppression and economic marginalization.

LAPD Chief Chucky Beck and his killa crew
It has moved beyond that specific community and been embraced by young people worldwide, elevating it to a global youth culture. The ambitious and hard-hitting documentary Blacking Up: Hip-Hop’s Remix of Race and Identity looks at the popularity of hip-hop among America’s white youth.

It asks whether white-identification is rooted in admiration and a desire to transcend race or if it is merely a new chapter in the long continuum of stereotyping, white privilege, mimicry, and cultural appropriation?

This scourge must be stopped! Save our youth!
Does it reflect a new face of racial understanding in white America, or does it reinforce an ugly history?

The film presents a diverse group of white rap fans (often referred to by derogatory terms such as “wannabe” or “wigger”) and performers with very different ways of expressing their relationship to hip-hop music and culture.

"True Killaz": criminal LAPD cops
Against the unique backdrop of American popular music, Blacking Up explores racial identity in U.S. society:
  • How do white youth define and express themselves culturally?
  • Why would creating an alternative persona be attractive to white suburban youth?
  • What does “authenticity” mean in reference to hip-hop, an art form often based on “sampling” music from other performers?
  • How does this type of performance affect the communities being emulated?
  • How do white performers impact interracial dialogue and the cultural landscape?
These questions are examined in fascinating vignettes featuring:
  • a tense hip-hop battle between white and black students at Indiana University-Bloomington
  • a backlash against "wiggers" in a Midwestern white community
  • a revealing analysis of how rapper Vanilla Ice (Mr. Rob Van Winkle as exalted by the comic-genius band the Bloodhound Gang) was marketed to mainstream audiences
  • performers whose use of racially-charged symbols beg comparison to minstrelsy
  • a black-owned New York bus tour that specializes in bringing outsiders into the neighborhoods where hip-hop was first invented -- replete with complimentary "bling."
(Bloodhound Gang) Imagine the worst: "Nightmare at the Apollo"
I'll kill my kids if they turn into [blankers]!
The documentary places the issues of cross-cultural appropriation and desire in historical context, drawing parallels between the figure of the white hip-hop fan and previous incarnations of white identification with black culture.

Blacking Up addresses the legacy of blackface performers such as Al Jolson (introducing us to the contemporary Al Jolson Fan Club).

The Godmother of Rock 'n Roll: Sr. Tharpe
In addition, jazz figures like the "hipster" and rock and roll icons like Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones are considered within a broader context of white appropriation of black cultural expression. [What about Dr. Dre's Marshall Mathers?]

The film posits that identifying with black culture has offered white performers and consumers a means to lift inhibitions. And in the case of hip-hop, it has given white men license to act aggressively masculine.

I'm all masculine all the time. Respect! I got Dr. Dre to vouch for me, boy!

    Dear White People, please
Throughout the documentary there is insightful commentary by African American cultural critics such as poet Amiri Baraka (who draws parallels to the Beatnik era), Nelson George, Greg Tate, comedian Paul Mooney, and hip-hop figures Chuck D, Russell Simmons, M1 of Dead Prez, and DJ Kool Herc.

Blacking Up will be a useful resource for college courses in media studies, cultural studies, sociology, African American studies, anthropology, and cross-cultural dialogue as well as for student services programs.

    Cure Cancer with Sodium Bicarbonate

    candida cancer fungus

Cancer can be cured in weeks. What are the causes? They remain unknown. Whether treated with sanctioned or alternative methods, an aura of mystery remains. Overcoming the impasse must therefore go through two separate phases -- a critical one that exposes the present limitations of oncology, and a constructive one capable of curing the disease (an infection) within weeks.

"If we closely observe the proposed therapeutic approach it is possible to see that, independently of its real effectiveness, it has value as an innovative theory." - Dr. Simoncini
