The Black Nazarene (Spanish El Nazareno Negro, Filipino Poóng Itím na Nazareno [1]) is a life-size statue of a dark-skinned Black Jesus Christ carrying the True Cross.
It is usually enshrined in the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila [2], but it comes out a few times a year, one of them being Jan. 9th.
The image was reputedly carved by an unknown Mexican artist in the 16th century then brought to the Philippines in 1606 [2, 3].
Black? Why, just because I'm from Africa?
It depicts Jesus en route to his crucifixion (an Imperial Roman punishment reserved exclusively for political prisoners who claimed to be messiahs or dared to challenge Roman rule.
Pious believers claim that physically touching the image can bring miracles and cure diseases [2, 3, 4].
The original image or its replica is given a religious procession three times a year:

Mandela Effect: How many people were in the car when U.S. Pres. John F. Kennedy got shot in the head by armed assassins? Everyone has seen the doctored, redacted, steadied, and manipulated Zapruder footage, so it should be an easy question. Let's see, there was the driver, a bodyguard riding shotgun who also got hit by the magic bullet that passed through the president and ricocheted around, Mrs. Kennedy (Jackie Onassis), and who else? There was JFK. We all agree, right? Four people in the car, one comfortably in each seat. Picture it. Wrong. History is different now. There were six individuals in six individual seats in a magical version of the original limousine. (Of course, there were four, and the museum dedicated to the event with an exact replica of the vehicle and its occupants is wrong, because the Zapruder film now (not before but now) shows six. Sure, they doctored the footage, but how did they add people and seats, and no one noticed? That's the Mandela Effect in a nutshell (or magic bullet shell).

Video captures 'flash mob' of burglars swarming Nordstrom in Southern California mall
(KTLA 5) Aug. 12, 2023: Video captured a mob of thieves swarming a Nordstrom for high end bags in Canoga Park as they cleared out the store during a destructive robbery on Saturday.
Chaos ensued as a large group of masked and hooded thieves clad in dark clothing scrambled around the store, grabbing armfuls of designer clothing, purses, accessories, and more.
Los Angeles police (LAPD) received reports of the mass robbery at the Westfield Topanga Mall around 4:00 pm.
Police said anywhere between 20-50 suspects are believed to be involved and estimated around $60,000 to $100,000 worth of merchandise was taken.
