Walking across US border to TJ, Mexico

(Cecil Travels) I crossed the border between San Diego (Alta California, US) and Tijuana (the largest city in Baja California, MX, often affectionately referred to as TJ) to see if all the terrifying tales of drug cartels, MS-13 gang members, prostitutes, donkeys, cunning dealers, clueless mules, underage drunken American partying, kidnappings, and human trafficking were true. What I found shocked me.

British couple travel to SoCal 'paradise'

(Those Happy Days) As an adventurous British couple into skate punk, we ignored the warnings about expensive Southern California (in search of bangers and mash or other bad toxic food and drink like cheap fast food burgers, fried potatoes, and nauseating pints).

We traveled from state to state, driving from affordable Arizona to the warm beach town of San Diego on the tip of SoCal on the border with Mexico, which everyone calls the Mexican border.

Southern California 20K years ago: Ice Age

The Ice Age secrets hiding beneath California
Native Californians and their kizh houses
(Voyager) June 7, 2025: CALIFORNIA. What’s hiding beneath California? This Ice Age deep-dive reveals fossils, lost megafauna (large animals), ancient humans (Natives), and the land before cities.

The paleobiota of the LA Tar Pits
Today, we journey back to a California few ever imagine, an ancient landscape buried beneath our cities, beaches, and freeways. Long before San Diego’s skyline rose or La Jolla’s cliffs drew surfers, this land was ruled by Columbian mammoths, saber-toothed cats, and early humans (pre-Clovis) who braved a world still shaped by ice. From submerged Kumeyaay village sites to fossil-filled tar pits and coastal cliffs hiding prehistoric secrets, this is the untold story of Ice Age California.

In this video
🔹 What San Diego, Los Angeles, and the Channel Islands such as Catalina looked like 20,000 years ago
🔹 The giants that once roamed the coast: mammoths, dire wolves, and saber-toothed cats
🔹 Human footprints on ancient shores — early seafarers, hunters, and toolmakers
🔹 How fossils found during construction projects and cliffside erosion are rewriting history
🔹 Why understanding the deep past matters in today’s changing world

Gay Jews drop out of San Diego Pride '25

Kehlani speaks the truth and offends local Jews, claiming to be "afraid" for their safety when they are opposed to being labeled Israeli Genocide supporters, Jewish supremacists, or sympathizers who back Jewish Dictator Bibi Netanyahu. More

Who is Kehlani?
Kehlani, 2018, musician with conscience
Kehlani expressed solidarity with Palestine during Israel's genocidal ethnic cleansing of Gaza and war on Palestinian non-Jews.

In Instagram posts, they [Kehlani] voiced disapproval for celebrities who have chosen to remain silent on the matter, implying that they prioritize their personal business endeavors over addressing a pressing humanitarian crisis [88, 89].

They were a principal signer of the October 2023 open letter, Artists Against Apartheid [90, 91]. In November 2023, Kehlani signed an open letter calling for a ceasefire and an end to the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip [92]. On May 27, 2024, Kehlani voiced their criticism on Instagram, this time directed specifically at fellow musicians for remaining silent about the Israel's war on Gaza and Palestine [93].

They further demonstrated their support for Gaza in the “Next 2 U” music video, which opens up with a poem by a Palestinian-American writer and has a Palestinian flag in the background of the entire video [70].

In April 2025, Kehlani's scheduled performance at Cornell University's annual Slope Day was canceled by university president Michael Kotlikoff over their support for Palestine. Kotlikoff claimed that Kehlani had "espoused antisemitic, anti-Israel sentiments in performances, videos, and on social media."

In response, they responded on Instagram saying, "I am not antisemitic, nor anti-Jew. I am anti-genocide, I am anti the actions of the Israeli government, I am anti an extermination of an entire people, I am anti the bombing of innocent children, men, women—that’s what I’m anti" [94].

In May 2025, another scheduled Kehlani concert in New York was canceled after pressure from New York City Mayor Eric Adams citing "security concerns" [but not admitting to any undue Jewish influence]. The free concert had been scheduled to take place on June 26 at SummerStage as part of Pride events taking place in the city... More

Series of earthquakes hits SoCal

Not all elephants get high. These smart animals followed their instincts to circle the wagons and protect the young of the herd in response to a natural temblor rocking the United Mexican States (Mexico) and former-Mexico (now calling itself the USA) north of the border in and around San Diego. Even the rockers rocking Coachella felt it, and they definitely were getting high.

Elephants form protective circle amid California earthquake
(TODAY) April 15, 2025: People across Southern California were jolted by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake in San Diego County Monday morning that was felt from Mexico to Los Angeles. Video from the San Diego Safari Zoo shows a herd of elephants instinctively forming a circle around their young to protect them from threats. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for TODAY.

Find Calm on Election Day: cute animals

Meditation + confidence = calm.
Calm.com and the San Diego Zoo are providing a peaceful diversion on Election Day with cute animal videos

Why it matters: It's important to find ways to de-stress and stay calm during election season, which won't be over on Nov. 5th.

Driving the news: Calm is hosting a live stream from the San Diego Zoo on Instagram so we can take a break from political doomscrolling to watch capybaras, meerkats, penguins, and other beautiful wildlife.

It starts at noon PT until polls close across the country.
Those humans are so full of fleas, ticks, and bugs because they won't clean each other.
.
Between the lines: Calm also has free "Election Season Support" content with breathing exercises, meditations and other mindfulness tools.

🐅 The intrigue: While he won't be featured on the livestream, a new tiger cub is out to play at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Baby Barong, which means "king of spirits," stepped out of his den for the first time last week. Watch him here or visit him in person at the park this weekend. More

The Wisdom Codes: Rewire Brains and Heal Hearts

Hi, I'm Gregg with two gs.
Each year, TCCHE creates a special program looking into the mysteries of human consciousness. It invites leading scientists, bestselling authors, philosophers, and people who have had "mystical" experiences to talk at the unique three-day event.

In the 1930s, when he was alive, Albert Einstein was a pretty interesting person; however, there are new "Einsteins" on the planet now: scientists, humanitarians, and visionaries shaping the thoughts that will lead individuals and societies into tomorrow.

Find your tribe
Join us and a group of likeminded people as we travel through the latest scientific discoveries, then move into the humanities, human potential, and metaphysics.

Finally, at the end on the third day, there will be talks about the future of humans, the mystical experience, and human connection beyond the five senses available to explore. Meet the speakers:... More: TCCHE San Diego 2025 - TCCHE

Getting into the USA via Tijuana, Mexico

At the USA/Mexico border: Tijuana 🇺🇸🇲🇽
(Joe HaTTab) What is Tijuana? It is the biggest city along the border. Joe H travels the world to film interesting locations (and seems to have the help of a voiceover to present what he finds). Instagram   ➭ joe_hattab. Huge thanks to my friend Baja Cali Food for all the help in TJ. The food of Mexico is full of fried fat and many unhealthy things to tickle the tastebuds with too much spice, salt, chiles, processed oils, flours, and chemicals. It's garbage on the streets. Welcome to Fats Ville. Eat organic in someone's home with fresh herbs and handmade tortillas, and it might be healthy. But fried on a roach coach and sold for cheap? Tasty garbage. bajacalifood @bajacalifood ● Joe's IG ➭ joe_hattab

COMMENTS
@pepsiholic4084(WQ) I somehow feel that witch is involved, lesbian witch and star of her own show, warlord, warmonger, failed presidential candidate, killer secretary of state, and all around liar. She has her own little-known TV show to keep her quiet. Chelsea was on it recently. She's still a monster. She tweets out then blocks replies. Is she conjuring storms with witchcraft with her Hollywood pack? Wouldn't doubt it.

@davidlarson2534(@davidlarson2534) In the summer of 1978 there was a hurricane that moved north up the Gulf of California. I almost took my usual path of I-8 from San Diego to Phoenix but went to I-10 at Banning, CA, to catch some friends. Had I gone via I-8, I would have been part of the catastrophic destruction of that freeway on the eastern slope of the mountains. I traveled over the Colorado River near Blythe, CA. I was the last car to cross before they closed the freeway bridge because of potential destruction from the tropical storm.

(@catherinewilliams9680) Let's hope there are enough reservoirs in the path of this tropical storm to be able to hold some of this rain.

@catherinewilliams9680(@pepsiholic4084) Praying for you guys from Daytona Beach, Florida. Know exactly what you are going thru. Went thru 2 of them last year. Murdered our beach.

"I went to the Fairy Realm" - it's real! (video)

Grant Geist, 7/31/21; Dhr. Seven, Ananda (Dharma Buddhist Meditation), Wisdom Quarterly

(GrantGeist) Journeying to the fairy realm -- really, sober, in all seriousness -- gave me insights that are still with me today.

Some friends and I found a fairy portal and fell into into the fifth dimension (5D). This is a genuine retelling of my trip through a place once confined to European folklore.

From a mind that brings a story no one ever knew, here is MY adventure into an elf nest. The land of the Fae is no fairytale. It's real. It happened in San Diego, Southern California, near our border with Mexico. #5D #fairyrealm #fairy

Teacher of year molests student, rearrested

Jayne Yutig, CBS 8, 3/9/23; Seth Auberon, CC Liu, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
.
Meet me afterschool? - A male teacher? No way!
Is it just us or are Asians -- the reputed "model minority" who work so hard to curry the favor of whites -- really coming into their own in America? Mass murdering, child molesting, thieving, drug dealing, mafia activity, Academy Award winning, best actressing, everything. Pres. Biden is in the San Gabriel Valley (Los Angeles, California) at this very moment clogging up traffic in the Pineapple Express downpour and the flooding it's causing because he wants to use recent tragedies at a dance studio, where an old Asian man shot up a dance studio and became a notorious mass murderer. Joe is going to use the bad news to promote anti-gun bills to deprive citizens of their weapons while loading police and criminals up with more and more powerful firearms. An Asian teacher child molester? Why is it when men do it, we're horrified, but when women do, it's a marvel? "Man bites dog" headline? Jacquie Ma's case was featured in the True Crime Tuesday segment of GAS (Gary and Shannon | iHeart).

Teacher of the year "loves" kids
Child molester Ma's in love with 12-year-old?
NATIONAL CITY, California — Just two days after bailing out of jail [after being arrested for suspicion of child molestation of her 12 then 13-year-old student], San Diego County 2022 "Teacher of the YearJacqueline Ma, 34, from Lincoln Acres Elementary was again arrested by the National City Police Department [who had kept her under surveillance when they released her the first time].
Ma doesn't represent us! (M. Yeoh)
Teacher of the Year Ma was first arrested on Tuesday [3/7/23] on several charges of sexual misconduct with a child under 14-years-old. National City Police detectives said their investigation into the sex case continued, and they developed probable cause to re-arrest Ma on additional felony charges.

According to records from the San Diego Sheriff's Department, Ma was booked on 14 new felony charges including:
  • two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14-years old
  • seven counts of possession of obscene [pornographic] matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct
  • four counts of knowingly developing, duplicating, printing, or exchanging child pornography
  • one count of intimidating a witness or victim.

"Detectives conducted a surveillance operation and arrested Ma in the 3300 block of National Avenue in the City of San Diego," the police department said. Ma was re-booked into Las Colinas Women's Detention Facility. More + VIDEO and Ma's bio
