(Buddhism Podcast) Buddhism Explained. Time: illusion or reality? This examination of "time" from a Buddhist perspective reveals intriguing parallels with modern science.
From Albert Einstein's pronouncements to the Buddha's wisdom in the Dhammapada[a collection of sayings], the concept of time as a construct is explored.
Quantum physics, with its baffling phenomena like entanglement and theobserver effect, challenges [our consensus reality and] conventional understandings of time, mirroring ancient Buddhist insights on the subjective nature of reality.
The neuroscience of time perception is considered, exploring how our brains [thoughts] construct our experience of time's flow.
Buddhist practices like mindfulness meditation are investigated as potential pathways to experiencing the present moment more fully, even transcending the limitations of time.

00:12 - The Mystery of Time: Where Science meets the Buddha's wisdom
The intricate relationship between consciousness and time is examined, and practical methods for cultivating timeless awareness [flow states, jhanasor meditative absorptions, singleminded focus that purifies the mind] are offered.
This inquiry aims to bridge scientific understanding and spiritual wisdom, offering a fresh perspective on the power of the present moment [like Eckhart Tolle's famous book, The Power of Now] and the potential for liberation from a time-bound existence.

I can't wait to be rich and famous. It will solve all of my problems because I'll have money to burn, be loved by everybody, get the best out of life, have power and influence, be able to give and donate to my favorite causes.
It's going to be great and then I won't have low self-esteem or care what anyone thinks about me, what they say about me, what they write about me, the rumors they, oh cr*p, why don't they just shut up? You don't know me! You just know my persona, not the real person.
Well, at I'll have the money and more of it coming...as long as stay relevant and keep the projects and offers coming. Oh goodness, how am I going to do that? There will always be a younger better more beautiful competitor nipping at my heels. That's it! I'll nip and tuck, and no one will ever know it. I'll stay young looking forever.
Oh my gosh, what if the makeup can no longer cover my cracks and wrinkles? Man, I was so much better off being anonymous, able to go anywhere without being hounded or bothered.
And all these taxes and leeches trying to take away my stacks of cash with their appeals and hair brain ideas for me to invest in. Sometimes I think I would have been better off without this burden. Wait! What am I saying?
The Law of Attraction rules say I have to always be in alignment, believe in myself, give gratitude as I already have what I want... Just listen to these winners whine and complain about how hard it is to be rich. Try being poor! It's going to be great when I get there.

It can seriously feel like we are constantly under siege. The barrage of news is relentless, politics are dismal, Israel won't let up, the economy is uncertain, coffee/stimulants to counter exhaustion, and our family responsibilities can be overwhelming.
Burnout is a very real danger and can affect anyone — even those who seem to have it all together. But the warning signs of burnout are easy to miss.
If we know what to look for, we can take steps to manage stressors effectively and prevent burnout from taking over our life.
Let's discuss the causes of burnout and suggest solutions that will help calm the nervous system so we can thrive during difficult times.
How does prolonged stress impact the nervous system? The economy (and our personal finances), family responsibilities, and fast breaking news all cause fatigue and contribute to the current stressors impacting our nervous system.
Elon Musk wants Neuralink in your brain. You'll feel better?
Other things (financial, job instability, long-term financial planning) all add to the weight of daily life. At the same time, caring for children and elderly family members, balancing work and home life, and maintaining relationships under stress can be emotionally draining.
To top it all off, the constant stream of negative news and the emotional toll of global events can lead to information overload.
When these stressors become too much, our nervous system struggles. This can manifest in physical symptoms like
Couldn't I just meditate myself back to calm? - Yes, but that would take effort and practice.

๐ How was the day?
Today is here to create new tunes, new sounds. Music is indispensable in life. If this music helps make others happy or forget about worries, the makers are happy.
Listen to relax, meditate, study, read, get a massage, take a spa treatment, or sleep.
This music is ideal to allay anxiety, stress, and insomnia because it facilitates relaxation and helps get rid of bad vibrations.
Maurice O'Connell Walshe (trans.), Upadaparitassana Sutra: "Grasping and Worrying" (SN 22.7 PTS: S iii 15 CDB i 865), 2007, Pali title based on the PTS (Feer) edition; Dhr. Seven (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly
I'm not greedy for power. I just want power.
[At Savatthi the Blessed One said:] "Meditators, I will explain to you grasping and worrying, as well as not-grasping and not-worrying [letting go and ease]...
"Here, meditators, the ordinary uninstructed worldling, with no regard for noble ones [1], unskilled and untrained in the Dharma (Doctrine/Teaching) of the noble ones... of those who are worthy [2]... regards body as the self, the self as having a body, body as being in the self, or the self as being in the body.
"Change occurs to this person's body, and it becomes different. Because of this change and alteration in this body, consciousness is preoccupied with bodily change. Due to this preoccupation with bodily change, worried thoughts arise and persist, laying a firm hold on one's mind/heart.
"Through this mental obsession one becomes fearful and distressed, and being full of desire (craving) [3] and attachment (clinging), one is worried. One regards feeling as the self... change occurs to one's feeling... one is worried.
[The same is then said with regard to "perception, the mental formations, and consciousness."]
Hey, this is much better: letting go and peace.
In this way, meditators, grasping and worrying arise. And how, meditators, do not-grasping and not-worrying [letting go and ease] arise?
"Here, meditators, the well-instructed noble disciple, who has regard for the noble ones, is skilled and trained in the Dharma of the noble ones... of those who are worthy, does not regard body as the self, the self as having a body, body as being in the self, or the self as being in the body.
"Change occurs to this person's body, and it becomes different. But despite this change and alteration in the body, one's consciousness is not preoccupied with bodily change... Not being full of desire and attachment (craving and clinging), one is not worried.
[The same is said with regard to "feeling, perception, the mental formations, and consciousness."]
"In this way, meditators, grasping and worrying do not arise."
NOTES
1. According to MA [the Commentary to the Majjhima Nikaya or Middle Length Discourses] on MN 1, the "noble ones" (ariya) are buddhas [but not] pacceka-buddhas [nonteaching buddhas] (cf. SN 12.22, n. 1) and disciples (savakas). "With no regard..." means "not seeing with knowledge" (รฑanena adassavi), i.e., seeing them with physical eye but not knowing them for what they are. See The Sutra on the Root of Existence [MN 1] translated by Bhikkhu Bodhi (BPS.lk 1980), p. 42.
2. Sappurisa: MA (as in n. 1) says these are pacceka-buddhas and disciples. Alternatively it is stated that the "noble ones" may refer to [teaching] buddhas alone, or that both terms may refer to all three classes of individuals.
3. Apekhava ca upadaya ca: KS ["The Book of the Kindred Sayings," translation of the Samyutta Nikaya, Vol. III, by F. L. Woodward, 1924, PTS] has "owing to vexation and clinging," but apekhava = "full of longing or desire" (Pali-English Dictionary [by T.W. Rhys Davids and William Stede, 1921-1925, PTS] s.v. apekhavant).
This frequency (528Hz) releases inner conflict and struggle with an anti-anxiety cleanse.
This Solfeggio frequency (528 Hz) is the “miracle tone” and can be downloaded in seven different versions on iTunes.apple.com.
According to Dr. Leonard Horowitz, 528 hertz is a frequency that is central to the “musical mathematical matrix of creation.”
More than any sound previously discovered, the “love frequency” resonates at the heart of everything. It connects our heart, our spiritual [pranic] essence, to the spiraling reality of heaven and earth.
Once there was a young warrior. Her teacher told her that she had to do battle with fear. She didn't want to do that.
It seemed too aggressive; it was scary; it seemed unfriendly.
But the teacher said she had to do it and gave her the instructions for the battle. The day arrived.
The student warrior stood on one side, and fear stood on the other. The warrior was feeling very small, and fear was looking big and wrathful. They both had their weapons.
For a peaceful meditation, we need not go to the mountains and streams. When thoughts are quieted down, fire itself is cool and refreshing. Poignant but misguided Vietnam War protest (newbuddhist.com)
Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner-turmoil. Lately my meditation -- and the world at large, judging from the news headlines -- has been alternating between anguish and amazing peace. There are miserable realms inhabited, no doubt, by people who think too much. All that thinking means holding, and acting from, wrong-views.
Eckhart Tolle says, "If there were nothing but thought in you, you wouldn’t even know you are thinking. You would be like a dreamer who doesn’t know [s/he] is dreaming. When you know you are dreaming, you are awake within the dream."
Our hearts are exposed to turmoil, suffering, and harm. As the individual goes, so goes the world at large. And to that Eckhart adds: "To end the misery that has afflicted the human condition for thousands of years, you have to start with yourself and take responsibility for you inner state at any given moment. That means NOW." Pain isn't in the future. It's only now. It will only ever be now. There is, after all, no other time.
So inner-peace is possible, too, but only now. And it is possible for everyone right now. This could ruin the news and sales sectors. Fear drives us, attracts our attention, motivates our poor choice in actions. Who would we be without fighting?
Signs and Symptoms
Tendency to over-think based on fears, past experiences
Inability to enjoy the present moment
Heightened interest in judging other people
Heightened interest in judging self
Heightened interest in interpreting the actions of others
Heightened interest in conflict and confrontation
Inability to stop worrying
Frequent, overwhelming episodes of anguish
Disturbed feelings of separation from others and nature
Frequent grieving or feelings of being aggrieved
Increasing tendency to control and make things happen
Increased susceptibility to fear others and the uncontrollable urge to attack or escape the perceived danger
GOOD NEWS: If you experience one or all of these symptoms, your condition is curable. The cause is thinking; the external conditions just help you think and confirm it. Exposing yourself to more sitting (with less thinking) will help right away.
Over at the Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington has joined with Glamour editor Cindi Leive to make a New Year’s resolution. They vow to get more sleep this year, and they urge the rest of us to follow their lead. In a chatty essay — “Women, It’s Time to Sleep Our Way to the Top. Literally” — they note that Americans are sleep deprived and that women are far more so than men. Women with children and jobs are more sleep deprived than women without either, they tell us, making this fodder for a parenting blog. More>>
(WQ) Fear, the media demands it. It fans the flames in the guise of good science when the research bias is built into the process. In spite of all other evidence, fear rules. One worries, and it is by fear and worry that one does things certain to cause harm in the hopes of escaping possible harm. Who would purposely inject toxins like mercury (Thimerosal or Thiomersal) and substances likely to induce autistic spectrum disorder in children, pregnant women, or anyone? A fearful person would. Vaccines -- not as a concept but as they are practiced by the pharmaceutical industry -- will harm those who ingest them. While doing little if any good, harm is guaranteed. Unfortunately, mass panic makes vaccination demand a social phenomenon. However, as an individual decision, it is possible to avoid harm.
The medium of the vaccine is animal-based. No version of it is vegetarian. Whether one is ingesting a live virus (attenuated) as a mist or by injection, the body is being burdened by toxins that will not prevent contracting the disease and are likely to lead to the disease. The harm is called iatrogenic. An incomprehensible amount of harm is caused by pharmaceutical products prescribed and used as directed. It is not an accident, it is not misuse. Education and non-fear, keeping oneself sane and balanced in spite of a panic or media frenzy, is the solution. This is neither the first campaign nor will it be the last. This is how wars are sold to the public, how people accept the loss of civil rights, and how we hand over our health. It will happen again. Politicians are complicit, and trusted voices in public health and the university follow along. Look into it, beyond the scare tactics, or be afraid, very afraid. An example of the immediate harm brought on by worry is the harmful use of "hand sanitizers."
The Buddha taught the Noble Eightfold Path (N8P) as the Way to the complete ending of suffering (dukkha). However, that does not mean we have to wait and continue to suffer until that time.
Instead, we can use N8P here and now to end our predominant pains and problems! As we do, we peel off this "mass of suffering" layer by layer along with the egoistic identifications attached to it. And we move closer to the complete end of suffering, which is nirvana.
