The Decline of Western Civilization (A-HC)
Punk is bad, stupid, and scary. What are these jerks talking about?
The Decline of Western Civilization is a 1981 American documentary filmed through 1979 and 1980. The movie is about the Los Angeles punk rock scene and was directed by Penelope Spheeris.
In 1981, the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) Chief Daryl Gates wrote a letter demanding the film not be shown again in the city [1].
The film is the opening act of a trilogy by Spheeris, depicting music scenes in Los Angeles in the late 20th century.
The second film, The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years (1988), covers the Los Angeles heavy metal scene of 1987–1988.
The third film, The Decline of Western Civilization Part III (1998), chronicles the gutter punk lifestyle of homeless teenagers in the late 1990s. More

Roadtrip: Death Valley to Burning Man
(Wonderhussy) Taking adventure to a new level by visiting the most hedonistic city in Nevada. Yes, wilder than Pahrump, more lit up than Las Vegas, more secretive than Area 51 (Groom Lake), where there's no money -- and none needed because it has evolved into a gifting culture beyond barter to selfless giving of services, experiences, food, drink, and fun! It takes dana (India's ancient practice of cultural spiritual generosity) to a modern place with an enlightened outlook to how life can be.
- [When? Just as soon as the Powers That Be step out of the way and release all of the free energy technology that has been discovered, developed, and attempted to be patented before being disappeared and stored somewhere in the Smithsonian Institution and/or the U.S. Patent Office storage units as it will upset the entire economic model personally grinding us down now as a planet when other planets, even local neighbors have evolved beyond this. Nicola Tesla was downloaded such technology by otherworldly beings interested in helping us with that evolution, but the covert agencies stepped in, weaponized it, and kept it all under wraps. Tesla discovered more and made working models of his visions than we have ever been allowed to yet see. Eventually it will come out.]

20 Indigenous/Native American sayings
![]() |
| You can lead a horse to water, but keep it clean. |
Is timeless wisdom (prajna) limited to the historical Buddha? There are, in fact, many sources of profound insight and knowledge, much of it coming from this occupied land of the settler colonial project we call the USA. The Indigenous inhabitants kept harmony and balance for more than 10,000 years, and we would do well to learn their lessons of sustainability and preservation. Many Buddhist sayings are collected in the Dhammapada.

| India should reclaim Buddhism to build power |
This saying or proverb emphasizes the importance of stewardship for [seven] future generations. It calls us to consider the legacy we leave behind [when we leave off using this planet and its resources].
Living with this mindset encourages sustainable practices and a deep respect for nature. Reflecting on this, one might find inspiration to make conscious choices that protect the environment.
It’s a reminder that our actions today will shape the world of tomorrow, urging us to be mindful custodians of our planet.
(Indigenous police have no right to arrest non-Navajos who commit crimes)
This proverb or traditional saying highlights the interconnectedness of all life on Earth. It teaches that every action has a ripple effect, influencing the broader ecosystem.
Understanding this connection fosters empathy and mindfulness, urging us to live in harmony with nature. It reminds us that our well-being is tied to the health of the planet.
Embracing this wisdom can guide us to make decisions that support ecological balance, promoting a sustainable future for ourselves and [seven] future generations.

Cali creature holds evolutionary secrets
Creature found in California's lake holds evolutionary secrets from 650 million years ago
![]() |
| Behold, I am that I am who created this speck! |
Recently, scientists from the University of California at Berkeley have discovered a microscopic [extremophile] creature living in this extreme environment that could offer clues to the origins of complex life.
This creature, a single-celled choanoflagellate species, offers unprecedented insights into the evolutionary transition from single-celled organisms to multicellular life.
The species’ unique microbiome and symbiotic relationship with bacteria provide clues into how early life forms adapted to extreme environments and formed partnerships that contributed to the development of animal life.
This groundbreaking research not only enriches our understanding of evolution but also underscores the ecological significance of Mono Lake’s extraordinary ecosystem. More

Eaton Fire victims meet Erin Brockovich

WHAT HAPPENED?
![]() |
| Erin Brockovich portrayed by Julia Roberts |
![]() |
| Eaton Fire justice is LA Fire Justice's mission. Get started: INTAKE FORM |
Then the real-life Erin Brockovich took the stage with a command of the facts and gravitas, siding with LAFireJustice.com against Edison. She has decades of experience dealing with corporate irresponsibility, and this is a blatant case of it. This makes Edison worse than PG&E, which itself caused one or more infamous fires by not monitoring and shutting down aged electrical equipment. Corporations privatize profits and socialize costs; it's an age-old problem. This is why they have to be held accountable.
Brockovich emphasized that the cleanup is not being done correctly, meaning that toxic heavy metals are spoiling the area. So in ten years or so, there will be a new wave of lawsuits to deal with that shortsightedness. Just today the local mainstream media is reporting how the City of Pasadena below the burn area has closed two baseball fields. They are unsafe due to elevated lead levels from the fire (from homes painted with lead-based paints when they were legal in the forties and fifties).
Community activist Brooke Teal Robbins was present with her parents, who were harmed and displaced by the Eaton Fire. She was promoting another LA Fire Justice "public awareness presentation." It is on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 5:00 pm at 221 E. Walnut St., Suite 100, in Pasadena 91101. It is becoming the new hub for community for Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre.

Future of Hope: Dr. Jane Goodall (3/30)

Dr. Jane Goodall's address and presentation begins at Minute 34:37 with a highlight at 1:13:31
What happened? More than 1,500 people showed up from in and around Pasadena to welcome the great, albeit softspoken, doctor and environmental icon. She told the story of her life, gave reasons for hope that our planet can be saved, then took questions submitted by students. What can we all do to save animals, save humans, and save the forests? Go vegan, plant-based, vegetarian, or intermittently veggie. Join a local chapter of Jane Goodall's Root & Shoots, and consider that every decision we make individually about a clean environment adds up (forming collective action) until, one day, it's clean and restored.
Conservation icon Dr. Jane Goodall will speak in Pasadena on March 30, 2025. This inspiring afternoon with Dr. Goodall will focus on hope, resilience, and the power of collective action. [Watch this event FREE and LIVE on KLRN Pasadena YouTube channel.]
Hosted by the Pasadena Education Foundation, Pasadena Unified School District, and the Roots & Shoots LA Basecamp, this special event will take place at Pasadena High School, where Dr. Goodall will share personal stories from her remarkable life, reflecting on the resilience of people and wildlife alike and the importance of community in creating lasting change.

(Jimmy Kimmel Live) April 13, 2023: Dr. Goodall talks about her love of animals, dreaming of growing up to study wildlife, her mother’s encouragement, women not being scientists when she started out, bonding with one chimp in particular named David Greybeard, chimp “language,” the mourning and grief around a chimp when they die, being open to the idea that Bigfoot [Yeti, Almas, Orang Pendek, and Sasquatch-like cryptids] might exist, and her new Apple TV+ series “Jane” about the adventures of a little girl and her imaginary chimp.
This event is designed for young people and families, providing insights into how we can all contribute to a more sustainable, compassionate world. Before the lecture, local Roots & Shoots groups and community partners will display information about their projects and offer opportunities to connect and learn how everyone can get involved in efforts that benefit the environment, animals, and communities.

(The Project) June 3, 2024: Dr. Jane Goodall has been on a lifelong mission to reconnect humans with the natural world and take on urgent climate action and she tells us why we all should have hope for the future. #JaneGoodall #Chimpanzees #ClimateAction
