Sex and Suffering in Buddhism

"Sex positive" Buddhists?
How can Wisdom Quarterly publish this? - How? It's a sex positive site. - O, makes sense
"If people start thinking freely about sex...they [might] start thinking freely about everything!"
.
SlutWalk, Washington DC, USA 2012
The sex-positive movement is a social and philosophical movement that seeks to change cultural attitudes and norms around sexuality, promoting the recognition of sexuality (in the countless forms of expression) as a natural and healthy part of the human experience and emphasizing the importance of personal sovereignty, safer sex practices, and consensual sex (and sex work free of violence or coercion).

I'm straight. Don't want sex? Become a monk.
It is based on the idea that "sexuality is an important part of the human experience and it deserves respect" [1]. Although the definition of the term greatly varies among those involved in the movement, its central notion is "openness to a variety of sexual orientations, interests (or lack thereof), identities and expressions" [2].

I regret all that science and math. I really wanted to be a Hedonist with Jeffrey Epstein & Co!
    .
The sex-positive movement also advocates for comprehensive sex education and safe sex as part of its campaign.[3] The movement generally makes no moral distinctions among types of sexual activities, regarding these choices as matters of personal preference [4]. More

Suffering Sandpapery Sex? Three Secrets to Juicier Lovemaking

    What makes someone sexually attractive?
(AARP) We’ve all been there before: We’re about to get it on and — *album scratch* — our girl isn’t giving what she’s supposed to. Knowhatimsayin? Like that filthy/racy Cardi B song featuring Megan Thee Stallion. What’s up with my natural lube being a no-show? Why is this happening?

Will my customers still like me when I'm old?
Vaginal dryness is more common during perimenopause and after menopause. “As the reproductive portion of a woman’s life starts to come to a close, estrogen [female hormone] levels drop because it’s not necessary for you to make eggs anymore,” says Dr. Nicole E. Williams, M.D., founder of the Gynecology Institute of Chicago and author of This is How You Vagina: All About Your Vajayjay and Why You Probably Shouldn't Call It That.

This is How You Vagina (Dr. Williams, MD)
Estrogen helps keep the vagina well lubricated and aids in sexual intercourse, she says. So declining estrogen levels can mean vaginal dryness that causes rough discomfort or sandy pain during sex. Some women also experience a chafed or burning feeling during day-to-day activities.

Menopause isn’t the only reason for vaginal dryness. Some other causes are medications, including antidepressants, antihistamines, and hormonal birth control pills; childbirth or breastfeeding; vaginal infections; stress. Whatever the circumstances, we’re not stuck with sandpaper-like sex. Here’s how to add more slip and slide to the ride. More: sisters.aarp.org

New Year's resolution: Read this book?

    Fox Your Carp, Jeff Bezos

F*ck Your Crap - Break Free and Take Control: The Brutally Honest Guide to Stop Overthinking, Start Living, and Finally Take Control by John Forgetson has 4.8 out of 5 stars (with 273 reviews), and it's getting a push by the algorithm.

    Too much thinking? Who, me?

The brutally honest wake-up call that overthinkers can’t stop talking about
The year’s almost here. Still overthinking? Still waiting to change? Maybe it’s time to gift yourself the truth...and actually stick to it this time.

Stop overthinking. Start living. Finally take control of your mind, time, and life. You’ve read enough boring self-help to last a lifetime -- the repetitive and brain damaging kind that sounds good but changes nothing.

By now, we don’t need more motivation, we need a mirror...and a serious slap in the face.

If I could learn meditation, I could do it all.
So if anyone is tired of overthinking while worrying about what everyone thinks and drowning in endless to-do lists that never end, this book might hit like a truth bomb.

Fck Your Crap isn’t another "feel good" pep talk. It’s a brutally honest wake-up call for people who are done pretending everything’s fine.

It’s not about chasing happiness; it’s about taking control of our life, our focus, and our energy. Inside, find a practical blueprint to stop overthinking, silence self-doubt, and build unstoppable momentum.

    What’s inside
    • How to stop overthinking and anxiety by rewiring the way the brain reacts to fear and pressure.
    • How to stop worrying and start living using real tools that actually work, not useless affirmations.
    • How to declutter the mind and rebuild daily habits around clarity and purpose.
    • Why "positive thinking" is a scam and what to do instead.
    • How to build a mindset so strong that we stop letting everything affect us.
    • How to finally break free from the Anxious Generation....
Every chapter hits hard, talks straight, and gives the tools to stop overthinking, stop spiraling, and start living.

Forget the gurus. Forget the hacks. This book is for people who want change that lasts.

    Who(m) this book is for
    Ever said:
    • "I can’t stop overthinking."
    • "I feel stuck, lost, and mentally drained."
    • "I’m tired of fake positivity and surface-level advice."
    • "I'm scared..."?
Then this is a MANUAL to read. It’s for anyone ready to throw the excuses away, face the truth, and build a life that finally makes sense.

Whether navigating anxiety, career burnout, or just trying to get life together, this book will become the slap in the face we didn’t know we needed...until now as we read it.

    Why it works
Because it’s REAL. Author John Forgetson doesn’t sugarcoat, spiritualize, or oversell. He cuts through the noise and teaches how to stop self-sabotaging, one brutally honest truth at a time.

With over 200 five-star reviews across platforms, Fck Your Crap has already changed how readers think, work, and live. It’s part tough love, part therapy, and entirely life-changing.

Ready to take back control? If we’re done overthinking our potential, this book will help us stop being our own worst enemy.
    • Stop worrying.
    • Stop waiting.
    • Stop believing everything you think.
    • Try something new.
    • Try something different.
    • Try something better.
    • Forget motivation.
    • Read this instead.
    • Let’s face ourselves...and fix our crap.
F*ck Your Crap - Break Free
Buy Fck Your Crap NOW and finally take control of life. [What’s the worst that could happen? John Forgetson gets rich?] DON'T OVERTHINK IT.

P.S. Important note to readers: Due to Amazon’s advertising guidelines, the eBook edition appears as "Fix" Your Crap. The paperback and hardcover versions remain uncensored as Fck Your Crap. Same content, same no-BS truth. That Goodness for censorship, huh? Thanks, Jeff Bezos.

Machiavelli's advice on picking up girls

Is this Cro Mag gentleman doing it right? - Uh, no.

    The Prince
(Italian Il Principe, Latin De Principatibus) is a 16th-century political treatise written by the Italian diplomat, philosopher, and political theorist Niccolò Machiavelli in the form of a realistic instruction guide for new princes. Many commentators have viewed that one of the main themes of The Prince is that immoral acts are sometimes necessary to achieve political glory. More

Nicky Machiavelli gets a bad rap in the West:
Will the male of the species ever evolve to be a safe, strong, romantic partner, The Prince?
    .
Man, don't be a jackass. Date a kind filly
and become a donkey with some sense.

Sacred sound: Let there be light: OM

FA-18 Hornet breaks sound barrier (July 7, 1999)
In the beginning, in the dreamtime, it might have been that Brahma (the creator god of the Vedas and Hinduism) uttered a word, a sound, an aspirated aum or OM. Or maybe it made this sentence: Let there be light. And that sound was Brahma, the supreme, the alpha and the OMega, the A and the alph'. That's not what happened in the Agganna Sutta, the Buddhist account of "Genesis," the discourse on beginnings, which begins with light. That's because that sutra only deals with life on the origin of life on Planet Earth, not the universe. Here Gaia.com looks into the sacred sound at the beginning of form or what is now called the study of cymatics:

A machine to 'see' sounds (resonant vibrations)?

What if we could suddenly "see" sounds?
Vibration underpins all matter in the Universe.

The CymaScope is the first scientific instrument that can provide an analog image of sound and vibration. The once invisible world of sound is revealed in a myriad of [sacred] geometric patterns. When the microscope and telescope were invented, they opened vistas into realms that were not even suspected to exist.

Sound has been invisible throughout history, except in graphic depictions of conventional acoustics instrumentation.

Now, with the development of the CymaScope instrument, the omnipresent, unexplored realms of sound and vibration are made visible for scientific study and artistic appreciation. (Source: CymaScope via sunnylanblog.wordpress.com)

Bumbling Biden: Blue roofs don't burn

Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) cause fires in places like Hawaii?

Creepy Tik-Toks to cringe and rethink everything (Episode 276), reaction
(Eye Trek) Premiered Jan. 15, 2025: The genre of "creepy TikToks to keep us up at night" has a lot of great information presented in the dumbest way by dolts who seem all the same, know-nothings with no opinions but a desperate need for viewers to comment. However, the gathering of so many reports, issues, and precious photo evidence makes it so we have to suck it up with the downside and show it. In fact, it might be enough to only present these by different reactors/armchair observers like Perky et. al. This gentleman seems just the same as the others, but footage talks and reactions walk, so who are we to complain about presentation or useless mutterings interrupting the video clips?

What does roof color have to do with lasers heating up structures for arson?

Viral images claiming to showing the cause of the Maui fires are of something else, proving there's no such thing as DEWs
(WHAS11) Aug. 22, 2023: At least three viral images that appear to show directed energy weapon laser beams have spread across social media as purported evidence of the origins of the Maui fires. #lahaina #wildfires #fires. Read more: whas11.com/video/news/ver...

The Zen of Alan Watts: Future of Politics

The future is Green. It has to be or else.
It is said "tomorrow never knows," but if it is only said by the Beatles on reefer on a trip to India to meet their sex guru to learn TM, well, maybe today knows. Is it a mad, mad world, grinding on in the Magaverse, or is there a new dawn of endless war, stealth CIA rule, and business prosperity for all the arms manufacturers in the country? Who can know, who can know? Stewart Swerdlow says he knows; he heard it from working in the secret government as a back channel to Russia and Putin with Laura Eisenhower, daughter of a previous president. The Cheneys align on one side against the egomaniacal monster, championing the "little guy," the current replacement for the genocidal doddering old fool in the office now. She's the next Obama, ushering in war after war with not much opposition because it's her and not them. We're played like fools right down the middle. We vote Green and put our trust in Jill Stein, Andrew D. Basiago, Jimmy Dore, Tulsi Gabbard, Mike MacRae, and RFK Jr. It's a choice, the only choice. Yes, the monster should be in prison, and maybe he'll be sentenced, or the next paid assassin won't miss, either way or another, Swerdlow says the future is Vance. That's JD to us all, President 47. Alan Watts had a lot to say about the future of politics:

JD Vance wins debate, Daily Show (live)

WARNING: Needlessly vulgar sexual references that, though funny, are repulsive and disturbing!

Tim Walz was an utter calamity in the debate
(Link Lauren) Oct. 1, 2024 JD Vance decisively beat (whooped, slammed, destroyed) Tim Walz in the vice presidential debate on CBS tonight. #jdvance #timwalz

Conservative Americans hate Haitians no matter how hard they work, treating them like slaves.
    .
Mounted border guard not whipping Haitian
Will the Haitian-Americans of Springfield be vindicated and apologized to or further maligned and lied about? They're not Americans! Who's to say? If an official allowed them in with acceptable paperwork then they are here legally and are, in a sense, Americans. Maybe it's only a temporary status but it is a status nonetheless. Will weird couch humping come up or Vance's history of crossdressing at Yale U come up? One would think he would take this opportunity to dispute it. Viewers are here to see a blood sport, a personal savaging of one another after months of buildup as the two name-call and talk about one another without ever having met. They were both in Congress and the military and the Midwest and Washington, one would think they would have met. Not so small world after all. One this is certain (if anything is because a comet may strike, a mass coronal ejection, a personal exhaustion of karma, a well-deserved military attack, a cyber strike, or the gods/devas may just bump into the switch and shut off the samsara simulation mid-game): One man will lose and we'll never hear from him again, and the other will become vice president, and we'll never hear from him again. Just ask Kosta; it's his joke:

VP Debate: Tim Walz and JD Vance’s biggest moments and misses
(The Daily Show) Oct. 1, 2024: Michael Kosta goes live after the first and only vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance. The stakes are as low as possible: one of these men will lose and we’ll never hear from them again, and one will win, become vice president, and we'll never hear from them again. #DailyShow #TimWalz #JDVance #Debate

I'm so proud of my curry lover.
Sen. JD Vance won on style if not substance, keeping his cool, presenting meaningful answers in a down-home Midwestern style one would have thought was Tim Walz' specialty. CBS hosts seemed fair, attacking them both and keeping on them. But Walz looked terrible, grimaced, never smiled, looked away, staring at Vance, was nervous and amped up and scared. Trump beat Biden, Harris beat Trump, and now Vance beat Walz. One might disagree with everything Trump stands for. He's a horrible candidate and was an unbearable president, but Vance is nice, not weird, and not deserving of the criticism he has been receiving.

I got hairy legs, and Harris has hairy Walz. You know what I mean! - G-Joe Biden
    .
    I tried. I'm a coach, not a player.
Vance sounded honest, had obviously prepared, and made an excellent presentation. Walz may be a better guy, more down-home, but he did not come across nearly as well. Because Harris' style is much easier to swallow, in spite of her gaffes, vacuity, and changeableness, it seems a better idea to vote Harris Walz (or Hairy 'alls), but if one could elect Vance independent of Trump, that does not seem like the worst thing.

Finally, it happened. I look better in comparison.
We cannot help but feel Vance has a future despite all the embarrassments and missteps so far. Walz needs polish or to be brought back to himself. Where's the guy who appeared at rallies and did such a great job? One would think Vance was a regal Nazi, all image and rugged, whereas Walz was a grunt, foot soldier, "old guy" as he kept calling himself. He's the same age as youthful Harris and much younger than actual old man Trump. Back to the drawing board, or send Walz to Yale for a little refinement. Democrats win, individual candidates not so much. Republicans may have a better position on some things -- if only it weren't for Project 2025, their stand on women, and if Harris loses, it has to be due to the Democrats not opening up the race to others. We were forced to go from a senile war maniac to a goofy cackler, while being threatened by an egomaniac and an odd bird who came out of nowhere to both impress and scare us.

It's sad that, according to the mainstream media, this is coming down to gender, men going red as women swing blue. Yay, blue! But blue isn't what it used to be. Now it's the war party. Now it's the mainstream. Now it's backed by the CIA and Pentagon and old-school Republicans. One has to wonder. What does analyst Jimmy Dore have to say?
